How is the 1900 Park Fare for dinner? Is the Fairy Godmother still outside? How is the food? What about the character interaction? Do all the characters sign autographs?

As buffets go its ok, but its definately not a place we make of point of going back to.

Is the Fairy Godmother still outside?

She was not there at all (inside or outside) on Christmas Eve (had a 7pm ADR).

food :thumbsup2
character interaction :thumbsup2
all characters signed autographs :thumbsup2

Now this is one buffet we won't return to :sad2:

I didn't like the food on the buffet, and ended up eating off the childrens buffet, and the character interaction was just okay. The place is so big, and the characters have to cover so much ground, that they don't stay by you for very long. I felt rushed, and I just didn't love it there :sad2:

Same here- we ate there in Nov. Food was okay, atmosphere was crazy. We felt rushed, and the characters didn't interact much with the girls. Prince Charming missed our table and when we spoke to the hostess she brought him back. But he had attitude & we almost wished we had skipped him. This one is off the list for next year:mad:

Wow! The responses surprise me. I have not eaten there since it reopened. But Prior to that, it was someplace we visited regularly. The strawberry soup was a great beginning, or ending! The other soups were great. And the steamship round was moist and tasteful. The breads wonderful, the vegetables tasted fresh and seasoned well. As was just everything. They had a wonderful selection of desserts. Although several times we had a specially ordered cake, which didn't leave alot of room if any for their desserts. It is not 5 star, but we thought it was one of the best buffets on property.

As for the characters, we have never had a problem. And it's always been just adults, no kids. They have always spent a couple or so minutes with us. Year before last we were there celebrating our wedding anniversary, and Cinderella and her Prince took us outside to have pictures done beside and inside the carriage with them. It was wonderful!!

Blessings,
Winnie

We also have had great experiences at 1900, with both food and characters. Each time we were celebrating birthdays, first mine, then my daughters and we never felt rushed or passed over. Fairy Godmother was in the lobby both times(for dinner). Although the dining area is large, I like that it is sectioned off so you don't fell like you are eating with so many others. On second thought, this was before the remodel, so that may have changed?

Regardless of your choice, have fun planning!!!:goodvibes

I like how it used to be, but not now that it has changed. I was there in May last year(and several times before that as well, anyone else remember when it used to be a villians dinner?) and then in September, so I saw it right before going to refurb and then right after. The food used to be fantastic and the characters were fun and spent time with you. I don't like how the layout is now and the food has changed and it isn't as good now. Just my opinion.

I'm sorry to hear that. It was one of my favorite restaurants on our last trip. I thought the food was great and the character interaction was good, too.

I too am sorry to hear about the changes for the worse. :confused3 It is (was) also one of our favorite character meals. One thing that works well for us is to eat late. It's not unusual for us to have an 8:30 ADR. By then the room is emptying out and it's not so noisy. Also, the characters aren't are rushed. However, (before the change) the 2 main ones (Cindy and Prince) only came around once. However, the mice came around alot, during the entire meal. My DD8 loved dancing around with Perla and Suzy. I don't know if we'll try it now with the Steps? :confused3 I'll keep reading the boards and see if they start getting more favorable reviews before we go again.

ADDED-as far as the FGM goes, of the 4 times we've had dinner there, she was only in the lobby once. Luckiliy we were able to get a picture with everyone (again, we were there late-had 8 p.m. ADR)

It is our first dinner every single trip. My whole family of 4 and my parents all love the food. I could live on the strawberry soup! We've never had a bad experience and we are looking forward to out next dinner, May 2.
