I was reading through my planning guide "The Complete WDW 2008" and it states that you can make ADR 180 days in advance.....190 if staying on site.
Is this accurate?

If you are staying onsite, you can make reservations 180 days from your arrival date for up to 10 days. So technically a reservation for the 10th day of your trip would be 190 days out but you cannot make any reservations earlier than 180 days from check in.

Probably not the way it's worded. On site: 180 days out from the day of your arrival plus up to 10 days of your vacation. Off site you have to call back 180 days from each day you want the ADR.

We got notification from WL Concierge that we could start making ADRs 190 days out. I assumed it was a feature for Concierge guests but I guess not.

Just another way to induce people to stay on-site.

When you call 180 days out from your first meal you want to make ADR's for, you can make the rest of your ADR's for the next 10 days if your staying on property. If your staying 11 days, you can't make that last day or any day after that. It's only 10 days.

Apparently Concierge Staff doesn't know that you can do from 180 days out for the rest of the vacation because I sent an e-mail to get Chef's Table and they said they had done for the 1st day, were doing the 2nd day that day and were going to submit the 3rd time the next day. I figure I'm not getting any days. I sent all my information to them 2 weeks before my 180 days. I haven't heard back since they told me this so I figure it won't happen. We were so looking forward to eating there. It almost sounded like they put us onto some kind of wait-list.:confused3

Part of the reason we went Concierge was because we heard that they could sometimes get things that are sometimes impossible. They said we should get our other ADR's to them to work on and I said I wanted to see if we got CT first so I know what nights I needed to make the others for. They said to make the others and cancel what I don't need for the night of CT if we get it. I figure that if I book all my other ADR's and CT comes thru, it will be the one restaurant that we really want other that CT that falls on the night we would need to cancel.:scared1:

What to do. What to do?:confused3

Actually, the book says "Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance(190 for disney resort guests)"...I thought the same thing you did and then I pulled out the book.So the book has wrong info. Not surprising, many of them do.To the OP the book is wrong , listen to all the other posters who say 180+10:goodvibes

Sometimes you wonder why there even are guidebooks. The DIS should put them out of business!

THANKS........ I thought that had to be wrong, then I read on a post here somehwere a few weeks ago that someone called 190 days and got their reservation for that day, then was told by CM that they had to call back each day to get the 190 day mark per reservation day.......

Since I am new to this, I wasn't sure what was what!

I have heard of some CM's doing this, but it's a mistake. They really shouldn't be.

I'm so glad I stopped by this post. I was going to call on 5/2, 5/3, 5/4 etc. for my ADRs. You just saved me a lot of phone calls. Boy do I feel silly. Thank you very much.

I'm thinking that Victoria and Albert's doesn't operate by the 180+10 rules. If you don't get the Chef's Table, I have read that you can book the main dining room and request the Chef's Table menu, as long as you request it in advance and not upon arrival.

I called V&A today and you are right, they don't do the 180+10. All 3 days are booked that we wanted. He asked about main dining room, but I felt that it is too romantic a setting to include our 21 year old DS.:lmao:

He gave me a number to call to be put on a waitlist in case someone cancels for one of our dates. He said Concierge usually doesn't call the waitlist, but when I called the number he gave me the lady found that I was already on the list for all my dates. She says it is unusual for Concierge to take that extra step, but apparently the IPO staff realized that I seriously wanted this Ressie and took it one step further.:thumbsup2

Now all I have to do is wait. I think my other ADR's are going to be for lunch, so I can still do CT without cancelling other ADR's. We don't need too many ADR's, because we are there during W&F at EPCOT and will be eating a lot from the food stands. With only 3 days, I don't even know if we will get to any other parks besides EPCOT.
