DD's 18th birthday falls when we are in Disney next year.

Out of these which would you choose? (DD's choices not mine)

Hoop di Doo
California Grill
Cinderellas Royal Table
50's Prime Time

All would be for dinner and price isn't a factor. Or would you have a different favorite?

Also what would the price be to order a birthday cake to be brought to your table (there are only 3 of us)

Of those four choices, I would pick California Grill. I think that being able to watch the fireworks from the viewing deck would make the night "complete". While we enjoy 50s Prime Time, it seems more casual and not as "special" to me.

We love HDDR, but I've heard they changed the show recently, so I can't comment on that. We haven't done CRT for dinner. Eating in the castle certainly would be special, but I can't pick it as I haven't been for that meal!

She will have a special birthday no matter what.

I've done all on your list and I'd pick Ca Grill first, then HDDR (even with show change, it's still entertaining).

I would pick Cinderella's Royal Table! It is very cool to be inside the castle.

DD is celebrating her 18th in December. She has chosen Citricos for birthday dinner. It is a very nice signature restaurant. We have had excellent food and service here.

California Grill is also nice.

Since DD has already given you 4 options I'd keep the discussion just to them.

HDDR is fun but Cali Grill will give her the best experience centered on her birthday. No way on 50s PT. In order of preference, I'd recommend:
Cali Grill
CRT
HDDR
50s PT

At 18, I would have chosen California Grill out of those choices, though Hoop Dee Doo was something I had always wanted to do and quite possibly I could have picked that.

My dad and step-mom took me to a restaurant similar to Victoria and Albert's for my high school graduation present. (It was near where I lived.) I adored it. So hence, I am confident at 18 that I likely would have picked California Grill over Hoop Dee Doo.

But without looking at your restaurant choices first, my mind instantly thought of V&A's because of my fine dining experience at 18.:goodvibes

Enjoy whatever she picks!

Depends on the experience she wants.

I would go with CRT or Cali Grill because I think they are better for a special occasion celebration.

Now between those two....what is more important? Dining IN the castle, characters, and the atmosphere (CRT)....or food and views(Cali Grill)?

If it were me, I would have picked Cali Grill at 18 because it's a more adult restaurant than CRT.

I would also choose the Cal Grill. There are a lot of options on the menu. There are frequently celebrities in the dining room. And the view is just lovely. We took our younger daughter there for her 25th birthday. Our server made a fuss over her and brought her a delicious slice of chocolate cake. There is a cake thread here that could help you if you choose to order a cake for sharing.

I would choose HDDR, followed by Cali Grill. They are very different experiences, though.
The changes at HDDR are minimal and if you have never seen it, you wouldn't even know. It is a show as well as a good dinner. The food is not gourmet, but good "Down Home Cooking". The show is full of energy with lots of singing, dancing, audience participation and corny jokes. They do honor birthdays during the show.
Cali Grill is much more upscale with "fancy" food. But it is very loud, almost chaotic. It would probably make her feel "adult" on her special birthday.
Have fun at which ever you choose.
