I just wanted to let everyone know a F16 fight jet that belongs to the 181st Fighter Wing in Terre Haute, In crashed today around 1:40pm.
If you all remember my husband belongs to this base, here in Terre Haute, known as Hulman Field Air National Guard Base. The F16's were practicing manuevers as they do on a daily basis and they hit head on apparently and one ejected out and the other pilot didn't make it out of his jet. It's a sad day for our Service men and women on our base. I just want to extend my symphathay to the family.
My DH just had knee surgery and is on profile, if you remember my DH has been home now a year May 12 from over seas. Anyway, he got the call from his brother (Fab5101 DH) who is also in the same unit that he was on his way and gave him details on what happened. My DH who is not allowed to go anywhere or deploy or do any activity since his knee surgery said "I'm going.....Of course he tried calling his knee Dr so he could discharge him from profile, well the DR was in surgery, So he took matters in his own hands...I told him he was crazy and he was on profile and he couldn't... well needless to say, when duty calls he knows what his job is and he goes, and as their motto is " Integrity first, Service before self and excellence in all we do. Being the "Military Wife" I am.. I packed his stuff up as he got dressed and gave him a good bye kiss and told him to be careful and I'd see him when he came home. He called me later and said they let him off profile and he was on his way down to the crash scene.
Once again please pray for the family that lost their loved one today!
