I signed up for 1800flowers from a post I saw on the budget board. I have an interview scheduled next week for 1800flowers part time work at home job for the Mother's Day season. Can anyone tell me about the interview process? I've already completed the online tests, just wondering about the phone interview.

Can anyone tell me about the job?

Thanks so much!

me. me. me. I worked for them at Valentine's Day. Started again this week for Mother's Day. Interview is nothing really. Just be nice and make sure you can fulfill the requirements and the job is yours. I LOVE IT!!!!!

I would work permanently for the company. Every training class I make such great friends from all over. Still have lots including training and supervisors on my AIM chat (AIM chat is very important to have:rotfl:). We become Facebook friends etc.

Only downsides are that when you are temp you have to work your schedule. No noise. No distractions, etc. Please feel free to PM me if you have specific questions. The first training is rough and then you are thrown into the trenches. I survived Valentine's Day 2010 with all of the non deliveries due to weather so anybody can survive.;)

I really do like the company. Not to mention the flowers and the food (Cheryl and Company and Harry Londons), and those stupid Martha Stewart gift baskets (I'm not a fan of hers), the wine baskets, etc. We get a discount. My dd enjoyed her Cheryl and Co Valentines bear with the best cookies you have ever eaten and her little bear. I'm telling you those cookies are addictive. You may train in different aspects. I do sales and service for flowers. Others do chat (I would love to do this) online.

Did you see Undercover Boss for this company? If not go to CBS.com and watch. Such a cool representation of the company. You will have a blast even when you want to strangle some of the customers:rotfl2:

Editing to add: How did I forget the Popcorn Factory? My daddy loves my job...LOL

I just had a phone interview this week. I did not even get through it - I stopped the process when the girl told me that shifts are 11 hours long. I can find something to occupy my kids for a 4 hour stint, but 11? Impossible. Pay was $9/hr.

The shifts are 11 hours long? Oh my, I don't think I could/would want to do that. I thought maybe they would be 4-6 hours long. 11 seems excessive, do you get a break?

Well, I can't even apply as they are only hiring in certain states.

What about delivering the flowers? Those of you who drive could probably get work no matter what state you are in. I worked one Valentine's Day for a flower shop that insisted upon waiting until the rush was already in progress to train us on their confusing computer system, which was ridiculous given the volume of calls that we were getting. If I had had a car, I would gladly have taken the flowers to the recipients though. At the shop I was in, the drivers even were even wearing formal, old-fashioned tuxedos to work. How charming!

I remember reading about this in a thread before, but when I just checked the website, it says they have already hired all the temp employees for mother's day. Can someone tell me if they hire in PA? I'd like to check for an opportunity for next time! :goodvibes

Hello! I also have a phone interview today with 1800Flowers! I am hoping that other post is wrong, something about having to work 11 hours at a time. I applied for part time and hope it is closer to a 4 hour shift at a time, especially at the beginning. Any information you can give me would be much appreciated. You can also add me on AIM : sstradley

Thanks! Susan
