180 Days?!?!

Ok, I need help. We're going to the World for the first time in November. How do I explain to my DH that without ever having stepped onto the property, he needs to go over some scenarios for a second possible trip over Spring Break, because I need to make dining ressies next week??? If you think about it, it really does sound ludicrous from the "outside". But I want my CRT and Cali Grill dinners! Any ideas to make this sound rational to a non-Disneyphile?

Just book the ressies. If you don't take a trip just cancel them. He doesn't need to know how "crazy" us DISers are

This is why I hate the 180 day rule. It forces people (such as the OP) to make ADRs when it may only be 50/50 that they even go on the vacation. If it were 30 or 45 this wouldn't be an issue.

The thing is, if there was a 30 or 45 day window, it would be even MORE insane when that window opens up. Gee, i remember when they were doing the 90 day window there for a bit when they were getting the online system going. I remember being on hold for 45 minutes before I got through to someone to make my ADR's!

As an über-planner, I quite like my 180 days. It's like a reward for being the over-achiever!

To the OP - just go ahead and make the ressies. You can always change or cancel them later.

Admit that it's a little absurd, but
1) it can't be done later, the ressies will be gone
2) trip planning can be fun for some people

yeah, just go ahead and book them. DH has no idea what I booked for our Feb. trip. He's never involved in vac. planning. He just gets up the morning of the trip and waits for me to tell him what he needs to do. ("get in the car and drive to the airport") lol.

I think 180 days is a little absurd, even for the uber planners (like me). IMO 120 days would be a little more reasonable.
