We came up on our 180 days out day this past Wednesday....we decided to go ahead and try calling on Tuesday night and see what happened. They took all our reservations for the entire week of our trip in January. The only glitch was we had to take Cinderellas breakfast on the last day of our week instead of the first day. If you can only make reservation 180 days out how did this entire week fill up for the breakfast???

If you made your reservations at 180 days before your arrival date, you can (as you did) make reservations for your whole stay (I think up to 10 days worth), they let you make an ADR for "day 180, day 181, day 182, etc."
Some guests would have had a one to nine day jump on getting that reservation.

At least you got one! And yours is at over 180 days out, right?

(If anything is not precise in my reply, someone will correct me here, but that's the way I understand it. Took me a long time to figure out the dining plan, and I'm still learning, and the Dis, in my opinion, is the best place to learn!).

The 180+10 rule I believe only applies to Disney Resort guests. If you are offsite, you can only call at 180 day mark for the day you want to make the reservation.

CRT is a special case. VERY FEW tables are available for booking during the 180+10 window. Many more can be booked at exactly 180 days. So if you wait for 180 days before the specific day you want, you may be able to get it. I believe this is done to prevent people who are taking longer vacations from having too much of an advantage over someone with a shorter vacation that occurs a few days later.

However, although not as popular as it once was, certain popular days may require you do to the Disney Dining Dance - start calling just before 7am ET, blast through the voice menus (you may want to practice to know what keys to press), and get a CM as soon as you can.

I just tried to make my ADRs for my Grand Gathering at the 180 day at opening and had such a problem... Le Cellier was booked, no Cinderellas it SUCKED...I wish they would drop the +10 days because it is impossible to get some ressies because of this.

Did you call right at 7am?

CRT can still book very fast.

Since it is a GG, are you trying to book for a large group? There is very limited availability for significantly large groups. And because they release a limited number of tables for booking at the +10 window (and I think its true at most all the restaurants), it is unlikely that its the sole reason you were unable to get ADRs.

I would call periodically as well - not all tables are available at 180 days, and people also cancel ADRs as they change their plans.

I was hoping that not all the tables were released and will call every day. You give me hope!!! Right now for CRT I have a 2, 3 and 4 person table for a span of times within 20 minute of each other - YIKES.

I normally never play this game of calling at exactly 180 days - January is not usually a busy time of the year and we are ususally a group of 5.

I at least have reservations - even if they are not prime. I feel bad for the large groups who did not call early and get nothing.

Thank you for scaring me into going ahead and making CRT reservations for Jan '08.

FYI, as I type this, reservations for a three person party were still fairly wide open for the third week of January...at least the night we are going.
