180 days for ADRS!!!!!

Thanks dcon I have 1 more question. I just checked the above link for the ADR and it said 10-25-09 for my 90 day. Disney told me when I made my room res that my date for ADR was 10-25-09. Without counting the days on a calendar I think that is only 90 days. Does that mean that my actual date is 10-15? Ahhh I hope that this makes sense?

"dcon" - heh, I feel like a pesticide. :)

If your checkin date is 1/23/2010, the first day you can call is 10/25/2009. That is 90 days prior to your checkin date. You can THEN make ADRs for 1/23 through 2/1 (at least up to your checkout date). Staying onsite does not mean that you get to book 100 days out from your checkin date - only that you can book up to 10 days STARTING on your checkin date.

It's great but not for me this time. Happy for all who can take advantage of it.:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

OMG... I just saw this and now I feel like I am so behind on planning:lmao:

So I can book in October for April. I just remember all the drama last year trying to book and hope this is true and they don't change again. I didn't get to book until Jan and was so worried for nothing that I wouldn't get any reservations.

SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVED the 180 days! HATE this 90 day thing.
:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:

As a planner, I have been "practicing" on-line reservation making to learn the best strategy to get a reservation at CRT for breakfast. I have been trying to figure out why I cannot get a a single open reservation time for every single day I try even though it's first thing in the am... now I know that folks with on-site Park reservations have a 10-day leg up on me.... until October 27th... kind of...

Which leads me to the question, what is going to happen that day to their systems??? Anyone had experience with Disney and their ability to handle such mass interest all at once? I am a bit fearful of having any success that day getting reservations - yikes! Plus it seems on-site folks still have a leg up as they can book 10-days out once they hit their arrival date.

Any tips on how to best get my 3-yr old princess fanatic breakfast in the castle and a trip to BBBoutique beforehand are appreciated, thank you :)

When it switches to 180 days for ADRs, onsite guests will still have the +10 advantage.

I assume it'll be the same as it was earlier in the year/late last year when they switched from 180 days to 90 days.

I've only tried when we're staying onsite so I haven't had much difficulty booking ADRs but the only thing I can suggest is to 1) do it online 2) begin the booking process at EXACTLY 6AM EST according to the atomic clock.

So glad that Disney decided to go back to the 180 days for ADR's. It won't help me with my upcoming trip next month but hopefully it will help in the future...

I love that 180 days is back again! I too am worried about the big day of Oct. 27th. Our trip is in April and I have a feeling that day will be crazy!

Doesn't matter one way or the other. My trip starts Jan 31 2010 and this makes my ADR making miserable...me and 9 billion other people.

I'm with you on this one. Our trip starts January 30. Why couldn't they have waited another week to make the change.

That's when our trip starts too, and I said exactly the same thing to my DH when I heard about the switch to 180 days! Now I just have to hope that everybody with trips in Feb., March, and April won't be willing to get up at the crack of dawn (5 AM for us in the Midwest) to make their reservations online! :surfweb:

:woohoo: This is fabulous news. Now that we own DVC and will totally take advantage of the 11 month ressie perk at the THV, figuring our where we want to eat 180 days out will be easy! :cloud9:

5 am is on my calendar! I already got my husband to go into work late, so I can do ADR and he can take care of our son and pets. We decided - we'll play the game!

I much preferred the 90 day route. We are DVC owners and we usually book around Nov or Dec for April - May period. Making the ADR's at the 90 day mark was sufficient.

It really isn't necessary to book 6 months away. Yes, I understand the want to plan and get excited, but you can do that at the 3 month mark, too. At 90 days more people are firm in their plans and wants.

I totally agree. I booked our reservations at the 180 day mark last year. It was a struggle trying to get my husband to agree on where to eat 6 months in advance. I had to guess which nights we would be doing the Halloween activities. It was a pain. Plus I had shown my husband the menus and he saw what he wanted to eat, but 6 months later of course the menu has changed and those items were no longer available.

It's just unnecessary.

I know it seems crazy to make dining plans 180+ days from when you'll be eating...but if they follow through and do release park hours out that soon too...for those of who like to plan and figure that stuff out well in advance....then I am very happy to hear they will be going back to 180 :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

thanks for posting this thread....I didn't know...hope that keep it this way and don't change their minds again. We'll be trveling during pre-Thanksgiving and the weekend after next yr so I will be making my calls or be online to get CRT for my DD's b-days :goodvibes

I'm thinking maybe the Oct 27th date won't be such a crush of people looking to make ADRs. I think there are more people that may not know the booking window is back to 180 days than do know. If you aren't a disney fanatic like all of us on these boards, you probably wouldn't pay attention to those sorts of things. Also, I think only us fanatics plan 6+ months out anyway.

I like the idea of 180 days because I think maybe it will be slightly easier to get those hard to get ADRs. But, I think 90 days is probably a little bit more reasonable. I am not complaining though about going back to 180 days:banana:

I see no point in it and am sad this has changed back. 90 days is plenty far enough out to make restaurant reservations. So now, unless you book your trip 6 months in advance, and plan where you want to eat 6 months in advance, you are likely to be shut out of some of the more popular restaurants. Some of us don't know 6 months in advance that we can get away.
