180 Days + 10

I've never been to WDW and am planning a trip for the week of Oct. 18th. I haven't posted much here, but am definitely addicted to this board. Anyway, I saw a post awhile back regarding dining ressies at the 190 day mark (180 + 10) if you are staying at a disney resort. There seemed to be a lot of confusion about this. Well, let me clarify...

I just called to make ressies at the 190 day mark! That's right! I said 190 days out! I told the CM that my 180 day mark would be April 21st, but that since I'm staying at a disney resort I should be able to book my ressies now. She agreed and stated that I just can't make all of my ressies right now. I have to call back each day. In other words, since April 11th was the 190th day from my first night (Oct. 18th) and today was the 190th day from my second night (Oct. 19th), I was able to book these. In order to book my third night (Oct. 20th), I have to call back tomorrow because it will then be 190 days out.

I hope this helps many of you, especially those of you that want a Le Cellier ressie.

I guess I've been confused and I didn't even know it - I always thought it was 180 + 10 more going forward, not backwards. So in other words, I would have thought that if you called at the 180 day mark you could make your ADR's for all 10 days of your trip (with the LAST day being 190 days away). Is the purpose of this to give advantage to those staying on property? We always stay on property anyway so I'm, not complaining but quite honestly - I think I'm still confused.

Let me see if I can make this less confusing...
Yes, you are correct in that if you call at the 180 day mark you can make ressies for your entire trip. However, as a perk for staying on Disney property, you may call at the 190 day mark. This gives you a 10 day jump on everyone else. The only thing is that you can't make ressies for your entire trip at this time. You must call back each day going forward so that each day that you call is 190 days from the date of your planned ressie. I hope this clears things up a bit.

Then you got a better CM than we got. We are staying at a Disney resort and my sister called at the 181 day mark because she wouldn't be able to do it the next day. They would not make any ADR's for her - said it had to be 180 days and then she could make for up to 10 days after that. Luckily when she called the following day - 179 days out - we got all the ADR's we wanted. It looks like the policy is not applied uniformly.

You got a CM who doesn't quite understand the onsite perk.

The onsite perk is that you can call at 180 days from check in and book up to 10 days worth of ADRs.

Don't be surprised, if the next time you call, they don't let you do that again.

OK, so we come into Grand Floridian on October 19th... and I was able to book for that date only today... I'd have to call back every day...

So 180 + 10 def works, but the CM didn't seem very "giving up of information" unless I stated that we were staying in WDW.

I'm glad it worked for you MarinaD! The CM I spoke to seemed very knowledgeable and informative. If the info she gave me was incorrect and the 180 day + 10 is just that you can make all of your ressies on the 180 day mark, then I sure hope I get the same CM I got today in the future! LOL! I'm going to try tomorrow morning for a Le Cellier ressie....it will be 190 days from the date I wish to make my ressie. Here's hoping I get lucky!

I have tried twice today with no luck. I've tried playing stupid and it just doesn't work

I guess I'll just have to wait patiently until the 22nd unless I can talk dh into adding more days to our trip

I did ask this morning and I found out that the restaurant I want is completely booked after 6pm on the night I wanted it. So that means that ALOT of people are arriving on the 9th of October or before.

I'll be sure and let you know how it goes tomorrow. If the CM I get says that I can't do it, I'm going to tell them that I just did it for two other ressies, so why not now?
Btw, all I had to do today was give the CM my disney confirmation #.

Well....no luck this morning. The CM I spoke to was very nice, however she said that the system would not allow her to put in a ressie until the 180 day mark and that the 180 day + 10 means that on the 180th day I can call and make up to 10 days of ressies. I asked her why the CM was able to put the ressies in the system yesterday and she didn't know. I then had her check my ressies and they were in fact in the system. Even though it was evident that I was able to make my ressies yesterday, she wouldn't budge. She repeated that the system would not allow her to input the ressie. Maybe I will try again later today and get a CM that will be willing to do it.
Btw, she told me that Le Cellier doesn't usually book up for dinner until the 140th day. It seems that everyone on these boards who has tried on the 180th day didn't have any luck.

My friend and I are going down on the same flight in August.

She was able to get her ADRs at 181 days; I called 10 minutes later and had to wait for the next morning.

But we still got everything we wanted, including Le Cellier.

So she got lucky on that one and I didn't.

I guess it depends if you get "lucky!" It's worth a try at the very least!

Yes, they do need more training to be on the same page about this perk so that everyone can only get ADRs at 180 days out from their check in date; so it's fair to everyone.

Glad to see, though, that you got 8 CMs who DID know what they were doing!

Like you we will also be checking in on Oct. 18. According to www.pscalculator.net the 180 day for Oct. 1 is next Monday, APril 21!! :cool1
We'll be calling then to make ADR's for all 8 days of trip.
