180 Days + 10 Is NOT working for Me? All Booked

Yesterday was 180 days so I called to make my ADRs. In past no problems. I also had last minutes trips, while I did not get everything, I have gotten ADRS.

Yesterday...
LATE ADR for Chef Mickey, Ohanna, Planet Hollywood.
AND NO Fantasmic Dinner Package @ Mama Melrose.

Called backed later in day and CM was surprised that it was all booked. She said maybe it was not loaded into the systems. Maybe on 180th day it will have some opening.

While I like being able to book my ADRs at one time, I feel that I am losing out to people that start their trip eariler. I don't mind calling everyday to get my ADRs if it means getting it.

Very fustrated. I have never had this problem.

Late August is usually a slow time. I know that they offered Free Dinning for that time but I have gone at the time before w/ Free Dinning and did not encounter this.

Are you encountering this as well?

Instead of just calling each day for make ADRs for each day of my trip, now I will calling everyday till my trip to try to get ADRs or better ADRs. This is worse. Planning 6 months out should get to get your ADRs.

Wow! Sorry to hear you had so much trouble. I've never had a 180 + 10 day window to make my ADRs, so I have no experience with that. But I usually just make my ADRs online and even at less than 180 days, I've gotten most of what I wanted. For the couple I didn't get, I just went online each morning and checked until I got what I wanted. Which I always did.

I will be trying to make my 180 + 10 ADRs in a week or so and will know then how it goes. Hope you get everything you want eventually. Keep trying!

I was able to start booking on Tues and had computer issues so I had to wait to call at 7am.

I was able to get all the places I wanted, but not the times I wanted. I was quite surprised as well as I didn't have this problem in the past with free dining.

My only advice to anyone with 180 plus 10 -- is use the on-line service. I did it for the first time ever today and got everything we wanted -- all within a half hour of our requested times. The on-line service allows you to make them at 6:00 a.m. as opposed to waiting til 7:00 a.m. by phone -- that hour CAN make a difference. When I went back into the system after 7:00 a.m., the times had dramatically changed (only really late times available). All our dinners are ideally planned between 5:30 and 6:30 (give or take a few minutes). (Chef Mickey, Mickey's BBQ, 'Ohana, Akershaus, Coral Reef, Cinderella's Castle). I ever got a lunch at LeCellier just in case I like the new menu. Good luck!

Tried to make online reservations on Tuesday and Disney must have had some network issues. I got the same system error after each reservation I tried to make. I really lucked out though I called at 7 a.m. and was able to make everything I wanted (including Le Cellier) at the times I wanted.

Today is the beginning of my 180+10 and I went online this morning after 8 am and was able to get everything I wanted, even dinners at 6 or 6:30! Sorry you are having so much trouble!

I was getting error messages online as well so had to call and do it the old fashioned way. I got everything I wanted at the exact times I wanted so it all worked out great.

Today was the first day I could call for ADR's.

I too was getting an system error message - VERY frustrating!!! Just called now and got ALMOST everything we wanted! Had to settle for a few different nights and times for a couple of them but did well with all else!

My 180 day mark is this Sunday - I have plenty of ADRs to make. I hope the system is in a better mood by then.

I did mine this morning at 6 am and I had trouble getting 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's for dinner. I changed around a couple of ADR's and was able to get them both at 5:20 pm. I guess with the free dining those ADR's are booking up pretty fast.

This past sunday was our 180 day mark & we got all our ADR's by 6:30am. Had to make some changes (due to bro & family now coming) yesterday & had problems. Had to call to make changes but all worked out. I noticed a couple of you have tickers that say "5 months, 4 weeks & 1 or 2 days till vacation". Isn't that really 6 months & 1 or 2 days left? Doesn't that put it just out of the 180 day mark? or is it just a "typo" on the ticker?

2011 "Free" Dining Dates – Book a Walt Disney World Package

Disney" Free" Dining is available for guests arriving during the following dates:

2011 Valid Dates: Jan. 1 – Jan. 5, Jan. 9 – Jan. 13, Jan. 21 – Feb. 3, Feb. 25 – March 3, May 27 – June 2 and Aug. 19 – Sept. 29, 2011.

There's your answer. "Free" dining and ADRs do not mix. I purposely do not go during "free" dining, mainly because even though as a DVC member I don't get the "free" food, I have to compete for ADRs with people who are going specifically FOR the "free" food.

I am about 175 out and couldn't get the Fantasmic package and also couldn't get Ohana's at all before 8:40pm! With two little ones this is not an option. I've never had so much trouble gettings ADR's this early before. I guess it's the free dining. It's frustrating!

I don't know what's worse, the hordes of people thinking they are actually GETTING free dining even though they are paying rack rates for their rooms, or competing with these people for ADRs, even when some people don't get free dining. Not sure which situation you're in, but I'd highly suggest planning around free dining if you really want certain restaurants.
