Hi All ~ I'm 18 pounds lighter! I've got 82 pounds to go.....but this is a great start!

I'm just exercising and eating right.

I do 2-5km on my treadmill daily.

Eat good food...no more than 1200-1400 calories per day.

Congrats Sandra,

That is awesome, don't think about what you have still to lose focus on what you have lost. That is great, and in such a short time. Good for you. :goodvibes

I have to get back on track too, Fell way of the wagon. lol

I will let you know when I am getting back on track and join you.

Stephanie

Congrats Sandra! I'm with you starting monday....I am getting a personal trainer to do some work with me 3x/week - he's going to be focusing on the weights since I NEVER do them on my own, and I'm going to be working on the treadmill 5-6x/week, working towards running a half marathon in September (my boyfriend is going into the 10km race). I want to lose 25 pounds too. I starting my food detox - this just means eating strictly for the next 2 weeks - no potato chips, bad carbs, red meat, alcohol, caffeine, and food with lots of sugar. I have to concentrate on eating 5-6 portions/day, and ensuring that I eat half of that in vegetables. It's hard, but I know if I stick to it, I will have no problem. After that, I know I will lose weight easily....it's just doing it!

I just kind of realized while in Florida last week with my BFF that I was gaining weight, and lots of it. I lost 30 lbs a couple of years ago, and it's slowly coming back. When we went shopping one day, we were trying on the same size of clothing. This was a hard blow, because she is overweight (not trying to be mean....she has been dealing with this for a long time and she is aware of it and working on it) - but, I never saw us as the same size. I had a sort of mini meltdown that day and called my BF at home and told him that I had to start my workouts again, no matter what the cost....in comes personal trainer! Anyways, I will keep everyone updated on my progress....I have to balance a full time job, part time schooling, and this marathon training. Hoping to go down in hours at my job in March to concentrate on other things.

Anyways - congrats again Sandra...and lets all work together to keep each other motivated!

Hey SandraC. If I calculated it right, yous are going to Florida next March?
Thats also the time we are trying to go. The week before March break then drive home on March break. Congrats. on the weight, it is getting me motivated. I would love to have some off for my dad"s 80.th on March 30. Then a total of 50-60 by Disney. I am just too sick and tired of it right not.

Congratulations, Sandra!

I got on the scale last Saturday, and had my own "moment of truth". I really don't want to talk about how much I have to lose (suffice it to say, it's a lot!) but I am happy to report that I lost 4.5 lbs this week!

We bought a treadmill, a Schwinn Aerodyne exercise bike, and home gym. I've been doing 25-30 mins of cardio on the bike/treadmill most days, and every second day I work out on the gym as well. I have drastically reduced carbs and switched the carb I am eating to whole grain. I am loading up with salads, fruit and protein.

Maybe I should get a countdown ticker to track my progress.

I used to be 210lbs, then I went to 120lbs.

Then I went to 232lbs. I want to lose 100 lbs. I'll do it....I did it before.

Tonight we went to a diner and I had prime rib....it was good, but I'm not used to that much protein in one sitting.

I did extra exercise at the waterpark [I'm at GWL] I ran up the stairs to the waterslides and spent about 20 minutes jogging in the deeper water. I also swam against the current of the lazy river. It was fun and a little different than my regular exercise.

I should be down to goal weight by Thanksgiving....about 132-135lbs.

Thanks! Sandra

HOLY COW SANDRA! Good for you for making that goal!

I have a similar goal to be down to a bikini size by my birthday in May - we are going to Puerto Rico and for the first time in my life, I want to wear a bikini and be comfortable doing it!

The goals I made were with my trainer....we are weighing me in every week, and doing measurements every week. We are doing 4 week photos, and he is forcing me to keep a food diary (this is the hardest one!). I have to follow the GI Diet (or the South Beach diet, or a diabetic diet - they are pretty much all the same thing!) and eat accordingly. I have to do weights at least 3 times per week and cardio at least 5-6 days a week - I can take 2 days off, but no more and I have to increase my distance by 1 km every week to achieve my 1/2 marathon goal by the end of September. Once I get to my bikini size goal, I am getting professional photos done (the more risquee but beautifully done photos!) as this has been a major goal for me too. Plus, next year we are getting married, and I want to look fabulous in those photos! They are, afterall, probably going to be the only photos in the house that are guaranteed to be up for the rest of our lives!

Any other goals by anyone??? I am happy to see others striving for a healthy 2008!

ok I lied....I need to lose 36 lbs....they just crept up on me and bam! I got a little reality check when I stepped on the scale this morning. I feel terrible that I already gained back half of the weight that I lost....yikes! Keep up the good work everyone!

good job! :thumbsup2 DO we have a Canadian Weight loss thread going? If not , maybe we could could start one?
