That's how many US troops (other countries still have theirs also) are STILL in Iraq!!!! Not all are home. Remember them today, our national Day of Independence. Remember them every day. Hoping each and every one of them are home soon, continued prayers for their safety.

Thank you, Dan!! God bless all of our men and women and their families on this day of Independence...

Thanks for the reminder Dan. Fortunately this military family is together on this holiday, but we have been separated more holidays than I wish to count.

God Bless America!

I never realized there were still so many away from home. :( I pray they are all returned home safely and will be spending the next 4th of July with their families.

I really appreciate threads like these. Thanks for posting it Dan.

I never expect others to feel as strongly about our troops being gone as we do because for us it's personal but it is so nice to know that they aren't forgotten.

I've been thinking about Titus so much today.

Thanks for putting everything into perspective. Only because of couragious young men and women of the Armed Forces do we even have (among other things) the right/freedom to post here on this site.

To the families of those in the Armed Forces, may God bless your Armed Forces hero, and bring him/her home safely.

A lot of us don't realize that there are still a lot of troops away from home, and still men and women dying out there... They are in our thoughts and prayers, I hope they come home soon and safely.

This is the first 4th of July I've had without my husband since we started dating in 1997, he is on duty this weekend. He didn't get to spend it at home with me and Trinity for her first 4th of July, or see her face light up when she saw the fireworks. But I'm thankful that he'll be home soon in time for her birthday. As much as I hate being apart, I am so proud of him for what he does.

God bless our service men and women, and all their families.

Thanks Dan, I pray for ALL our troups and others that are still there. May they all be with their families real soon. I know the stress of worrying over someone in harms way.

Thanks Dan!!! We were lucky enough to spend the holiday weekend in St. Louis with Bobby and ALL of his aunts/uncles/cousins - it was AWESOME!!!!

...but I continue to pray every day for the rest of them to come home quickly and safely to the families that they've left behind.

...and I DO LOVE this song!!!;)

<center>AMERICA

----by Neil Diamond

Far
We've been traveling far
Without a home
But not without a star
Free
Only want to be free
We huddle close
Hang on to a dream

On the boats and on the planes
They're coming to America
Never looking back again
They're coming to America

Home, don't it seem so far away
Oh, we're traveling light today
In the eye of the storm
In the eye of the storm

Home, to a new and a shiny place
Make our bed, and we'll say our grace
Freedom's light burning warm
Freedom's light burning warm

Everywhere around the world
They're coming to America
Every time that flag's unfurled
They're coming to America

Got a dream to take them there
They're coming to America
Got a dream they've come to share
They're coming to America

They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
Today, today, today, today, today

My country 'tis of thee
Today
Sweet land of liberty
Today
Of thee I sing
Today
Of thee I sing
Today

Thanks Dan for this reminder!

Its been almost 2 months since my hubby has been home and not a day goes by that I don't thank GOD that he is home with us. We went to Boston this weekend, and I remember a few months ago thinking there was no way he would be home for us to go. I felt so emotional watching the fly over's of the Air Force Jets. I actually had tears in my eyes when they sang the national anthem, and tears again when the finale of the fireworks was going off. God bless all of the couragous men and women over there still. God bless their familes who are still enduring the pain that I once felt. Its very easy to go back to your normal life and try not to remember what it was like. I don't like forgetting that there are that many still over there.
