We are trying to plan this years holiday and cant decide on a couple of options, one of which being a Disney cruise.
3 of us are going Myself, DH and My DS 17. I would love to try a 3 day Bahemian cruise but am a bit concerned that DS would be bored is there enough for us to do as a family ??

Don't have kids myself but I know there is teen area on board! There is a cinema where he could go watch something and the shows are great in the evening but not sure if a 17 year old would appreciate them. They are little funny at that age. There is room service and on demand Disney movies in your room if he wanted to lie in! If all else fails there is unlimited food what more could a teenage boy want!

The 3 day cruise goes quick once you are on board so may not get too bored! You could also let him pick an excursion for your stop in Nassau to make him feel involved and get you all doing something he would enjoy

do it do it do it do it!!!!

there is soooooooooooooooooooooo much to do on the ship, 3 days won't be nearly enough!!!!

the Disney Dream - which is i assume the ship you would be on - is indeed a DREAM!!!!

i was just on it in october on a 4 day cruise....it was FABULOUS!!!!

there is tons to do for all ages.....

as for the teen club, last time i went with kids was 8 years ago on the Disney Wonder with DD and DS....DS was 17 years old at the time and he loved the teen club...and that was when the teens had very limited space (before they revamped the club on the wonder)....
and the teen club on the Dream is incredible.....they have one of the nicest locations on the ship!!!

my son still talks about his time in the teen club! he LOVED every minute of it!!!!!

by the way, DD was too old for the teen club and was very jealous of the good time DS was having in it!!!!

so again i say Do it Do it Do it do it!!!!
only problem is you'll be hooked and want to go again and again!!! ;)

We've just done a 3night on the dream & it honestly wasn't long enough:(

My DDS are 16, 13& 1 and there was plenty for every age as the ship is massive in comparison to the previous cruises we've done on the Wonder.

I wouldn't hesitate, book, book book :banana::banana:

Thanks for the replies becoming more and more tempting :goodvibes

Rachel, there is plenty to do, both as a family and separately. When we did our last cruise as a family, the girls were 16 and 17 and they were out later at night than we were. They made loads of friends in the teen club and would meet up with them after dinner and hang out in the clubs, often not getting back to their room until early hours of the morning. At Castaway Cay, the teens have their own beach and they organise loads of fun stuff like beach volleyball etc.

You have to do it, you will all love it.

Rachel, you're all going to love it, there is so much to do. My girls loved the teen clubs, and they were never in the same age group one. I would suggest that once you book it, to join the relevant cruise thread, and ask on there if there are other 17 year olds sailing, and perhaps they could get to know each other by email or FB, so he'd know someone before you left, that's what we have done in the past and we have all made some great friends through the forums

Happy planning :)
