$17 parking fee vs DTD shuttle- help me decide!

Any advice? We are staying at downtown Disney's Wyndham LBV 5/6-5/11. They have a free shuttle, and I hear that it runs pretty reliably. However, we are avid rope droppers, and do not want to sacrifice being able to get there on time in order to save some money. We also plan on going back to the hotel mid afternoon for breaks. I am leaning toward driving, but would love advice from others who have done it. Are the shuttles really that reliable? How long, approximately, does it take from a DTD resort to the parks via shuttle (going to MK, EP, and DHS). Thanks everyone for your help and advice!

Have you thought about taking a cab there and the bus home. Probably costs the same as parking and gets you right to the gate.

DTD transport was fine for me, but I have not done rope drop in years

Thanks! So, for MK, a cab will take you to front gate- not TTC? Anyone else with help on deciding car vs shuttle?

Take a taxi to the Contemporary then walk

No, either TTC or Contemporary. I think the hotel shuttle would take you to the TTC.

A cab to the contemporary is ging to run $25 to $30. I would just drive.

We stayed at the Hilton LBV in October and our shuttle also picked up at the Wyndam. They ran very reliably, and much like staying on property buses. We were able to make rope drop each day and were dropped off at the MK just past where resort buses do. Hope that helps!

I'm getting the same seven miles/+-14 minutes/$24.25 estimate for each property:
Hilton http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main....1.510875&toCoord=28.417656,-81.58119499999998
Wyndham http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main....00000002&toCoord=28.417656,-81.58119499999998

For Epcot, it's coming up with 9-10 minutes/5.1 miles/+-$18.11
Hilton http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main....ingdom+parking&fromCoord=28.372734,-81.510875
Wyndham http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main....arking&fromCoord=28.374997,-81.51169900000002

This all, of course, presumes the OP is staying at the Wyndham on Hotel Plaza Boulevard, more or less opposite the Downtown Disney bus area. If it's a different Wyndham, all bets are off :)

I am staying at the DTD Wyndham. Really appreciate all the feedback. Especially from those who were able to make RD using the shuttle. Cheers!
