17 Days of Wishes Come to Life- A Sept. 08 WDW and DCL Adventure 3/27 new link posted

I don't remember the Mickey part from your PTR - did you mention it and I forgot, or were you keeping secrets from us too?!

What a wonderful surprise for your family and friends, this really was a spectacular day, Jay - and it's not even over yet! :worship:

I feel so bad for poor little Stitch and his headache! That picture you posted of him says it all, poor guy, he just looked miserable. I hope the medicine worked as it should and that he was able to enjoy the rest of the day.

OK - more! more! more! popcorn::

MICKEY! :lovestruc I just love him in his safari outfit! Jay, your ideas floor me!

I feel awful Stitch wasn't feeling well, poor little guy :sad1: I hope he feels better on the Grand One.

By the way, Aladdin makes a great Indiana Jones! I love his outfit! :thumbsup2

That was just fantastic!!! How great to have that private time spent with Mickey!!! I loved the looks on the kids faces and all the Jones men together! You did so good!!!

Poor Stitch! Migraines are one of the worst pains, I think. I hate them with a passion! I hope he was feeling better after his meds and that cool cloth. Great CM to bring that for him.

Stop battering DD, there will be NO shirt picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a very bad girl!!! :lmao:

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

JAY YOU ARE MY HERO!!!!!!!!!!!

I just love reading all about your amazing adventures and looking at all the kids reactions. That is so awesome that you didn't spill the beans and they were all so surprised. I LOVED Adventurer Mickey....that is so cool that he spent so much time with you guys!!! I am also glad he had you join in the fun too and that there are pictures to prove it. LOL.

Ohh and poor little Stitch.....I sure hope he started to feel better. Poor little guy, trying to hold back the tears. That is so sweet that a CM brought him a cold washcloth. Don't ya just LOVE Disney??

I :lovestruc this picture; so cute waving goodbye to Mickey! Good to see you in front of the camera, too;)

:headache: That's too bad about poor Stitch and his headaches. I sometimes get really bad headaches/migraines, and the only things that can cure them are painkillers, a cool, dark room, and time. At least you know what works for him tin order to stop them!

Aladdin...my goodness, he looks like a natural Indiana! If he doesn't already, I bet this surprise will have interested him in the theatre. I bet he'd be great working with younger kids! All the other kids looked SO happy and excited too; you know nothing can top this now!;)
He loves to wave and his loves Mickey! ;) All too often I am the picture taker (if I leave it up to dh, they don't get taken). I sometimes wonder if we will look back and think I wasn't even there.:rotfl: Mickey was great about getting everyone involved. Every person there felt special (as we later shared with each other). I really enjoyed watching him dance with Cinderella, play on the ground with the Little Prince and "converse", play and laugh with the rest of the kids...it was a great moment in time!

I hated that he got that headache. He is only seven. It just doesn't seem fair. :(

Loved the Mickey Surprise. Your family & friends must have been thrilled. The pictures are just fabulous. I'm guessing you are taking out the Grand 1 :goodvibes .
I think you might just be right. ;) We were all thrilled! It was so much fun!

OMG I didn't see that one coming how fantastic, what memories you've made :goodvibes
NOBODY saw it coming in real life either. It was great! :cloud9:

Welcome! It's nice to 'meet' you.

Your trips are always unbelievably magical but this occasion is such a dream! What a wonderful day you planned for your family and friends.
awww...Thanks! It was a great day!

I think I had it there?! If not, it's cause I was scatter brained. :rotfl:

I know, that picture is heart wrenching for me. I hate seeing my sweet guy in pain. I really wish he would have said something sooner. I could have saved him about 20 minutes of bad head pain. Poor little guy.

MICKEY! :lovestruc I just love him in his safari outfit! Jay, your ideas floor me!

I loved that outfit on Mickey too! I felt awful for the little guy too. I thought he was adorable as Indy too! He dressed up as that for Halloween parties, trick-or-treat and and a costume contest (which he got second out of over 100 kids!).

That was just fantastic!!! How great to have that private time spent with Mickey!!! I loved the looks on the kids faces and all the Jones men together! You did so good!!!

Aww thanks. Even dh said it turned out well. And I have high hopes to see a shirt picture...Your denials seem like invitations in disguise. :rotfl: :lmao: I demand you allow your dd to do whatever she wants! :rotfl2:

  Yippeeeeee....I can't wait to see them!!!!!
Very shortly! :thumbsup2

You know you are my hero!! I am so proud of myself for not spilling the beans. It was physically painful to not be able to say anything. I think I chewed a hole in my cheek.

Aw. That's so cool with Adventure Mickey coming and giving you 20 whole minutes by himself. That's awesome, actually!! I can only imagine the joy going through all of you as the Disney magic hit once more. :cloud9:

NO. :sad1: It's not your eyes. Nor can I blame the camera. It was me. I am torn up that the pictures came out so poorly. I just got so into enjoying the moment that I forgot to reset some of the settings I had been playing with while we sat on the beach. I could have smacked myself when I saw the pictures later on. :sad2: I told dh that just means I need another dream day so that I can get better photographs next time. :rolleyes1  :thumbsup2

I understand completely about the pictures. Half of mine from our trip turned out horrible.
But another Dream Day wouldn't be that bad. :rolleyes1

What a wonderful surprise!! I can't imagine how excited everyone must have been! First the lunch, then Idaho bursting in, then the mystery with Idaho and now Mickey! Absolutely great! I am glad you made it into a few of the pictures. :)
I can see some other people in the pictures and they don't look to be in your group. Did you have many onlookers? I wonder what they thought about you guys??? :goodvibes

I spent the day today reading your entire trip report to get caught up. I love it so far. You made me cry about how blessed you are with your new little man. I have a sixteen year old daughter an eleven year old son and a sixteen month old daughter. It took us nine years to concieve our youngest. She is also a perfect fit into our family and I can't even imagine our lives without her. I know how you felt at that moment on the balcony holding your miracle. I just stare at Grace (my baby). I can't believe I am actually holding my dream in my arms. I just think you have a wonderful family.

Oh, just cough it up, already!!! :lmao: You KNOW we won't stop bugging you about it! :rotfl:

Ok - Jay - One question.......

HOW are you EVER going to Top This Trip?!?!?! :wizard:

Every other trip will be compared to this one. Did you think of that when you were planning this fabulous day? :confused3

You've done it now, Missy. From here on out, WE - Your Loyal Followers - will have even higher expectations from you! :cutie:

:worship: Oh my goodness! You are officially my hero!! I know how much it costs to add a character appearance to your wedding reception, and I know how much Grand One is, and what a reception costs for Whitehall room, so i have a pretty good idea what you spent for this afternoon's entertaintment! :faint: WOW the detail you put into this was simply amazing, no wonder you had to leave this room this morning before you spilled the beans!! I could NEVER keep this huge a secret either!! WOW! You are an amazing person to do this for your kids and friends!!

And poor Stitch!! How horrible he got a migrane during such a wonderful day!! What a nice CM to try and help with the washcloth. I can't wait for the dessert party on the Grand One!!

Btw - did you write the clues or did the event planner? What a great scavenger hunt!!

I am still saying WOW myself. That was one of my favorite days ever!

I doubt I can talk dh into one anytime soon. :rotfl: But it doesn't mean I won't try to wrangle another dream day. :lmao:

There were a few people that sort of milled around and walked back and forth near us. I think they were waiting to see Mickey. :lmao: Maybe they thought we were hogging him?;) Honestly, they did "appear" but we had an army (at least it felt like an army) of CMs keeping people at bay. Although they got close and many stopped and stared or at least did a few double takes, nobody actually approached our group or tried to "steal Mickey". The behind the scenes preparedness and on site "background" help was almost as amazing as the on stage parts of the day! Disney made everything flow so smoothly!

Awww. THANK YOU! I bet just about any mom can understand that feeling of awww. I think those moments are what make life worth living. What a wonderful gift for your entire family (Grace I mean). Thanks for joining in! It's great to 'meet' you!

I have NO idea. ;) HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Topping this one might not be possible. HOWEVER, I am going to (if it all works out) plan a vow renewal at WDW in 2010. My rough idea for that is to do the actual vow renewal at the GF (or maybe by driving over to the ocean...sort of far, but the setting would be more than worth it). The reception is where I would let the Disney magic fly! ;) I have a few ideas...but I have no idea if I can afford them yet or not. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

The clues had nothing to do with me. I would NEVER have been able to come up with that!

It was SO hard to keep that secret. It almost broke me more times than I care to count.

My family and our friends really are the amazing ones in this equation. I am just lucky to know them all and have them in my life.

I am really looking forward to sharing the rest of the day with you all...

Knock knock...anyone home???? COME ON JAY......don't you know you are required to FINISH this day in posts SOONER rather than later??? :rotfl2:

I must say that I am really impressed with Disney based on what you have said about the preparations and care that Disney took for your amazing day. It seems that they really cover their bases and are so ready to make a momment magical. pixiedust: I am loving this day!! Can't wait to hear about the boat!! :woohoo:

I totally forgot about the Mickey part! What a fantastic surprise for everyone! I love all the pictures you got with Little Prince and Mickey. :cloud9: And that is too bad about Stitch. Poor little man. :guilty: Good thing you had the medicine though, I hope that helped clear him up and he could enjoy the next step in the surprise....anxiously awaiting! You gotta finish in three days!!!!! ;)

Ha ha ha. Somehow, I don't want this day to end...BUT, I am currently working on the next installment.

They truly were amazing. The CMs make all the difference between a fine time and an awesome time!

Yes ma'am. The next installment is coming right up! THREE DAYS...YOU LEAVE IN THREE DAYS!!!!!

Day 5...We sail away with our dreams!

It was truly sad to say our goodbyes to Idaho Jones. He was so much fun! I wish he could have come with us for the rest of our day, sadly, that was NOT in the budget. ;)

Idaho led us up to the edge of the dock and we were met there by the co-captains of the yacht. They along with a host of other CMs helped us on to the yacht and told us to make ourselves at home. I wish they would have told me to make it my permanent home! :lmao: Here is a quick look back at the dock.
GOODWDWcamera138.jpg

Here you can see some of the many people that we helping make our day go smoothly. The lady in blue was our event planner (my favorite Disney CM of all time). The others were marina CMs who pitched in for our portion of the day there, a few on site entertainment CMs and who knows who else. Sadly, I was hoping to catch a last shot of Idaho Jones, but he must have been spotted by the bad guys and had to make a break for it.
GOODWDWcamera152.jpg

So, I turned and made my way toward the rest of our group. Here is what they were doing...exploring the yacht of course!! Goofy took no time to make himself at home, he grabbed a bottle of water and flopped down on one of the four beds.
GOODWDWcamera151.jpg

I would have no problem curling up here for a nap as I floated upon the blue seas. Ahhh...a girl can dream!:cloud9:
GOODWDWcamera150.jpg

And so could a Goofy! He was not satisfied with exploring just one of the three bedrooms...he was off to find the master bedroom!
GOODWDWcamera149.jpg

I liked this one even better! :thumbsup2
GOODWDWcamera148.jpg

Finally, Goofy and Stitch said the room they would actually pick was the third room. I guess there is no accounting for taste. Bunk beds are the apple of my boys' eyes!
GOODWDWcamera147.jpg

Here's a picture of Abu and Aladdin kicked back and relaxing. They were happy to claim the table for themselves.
GOODWDWcamera146.jpg

One of our wonderful co-captains. These two rocked! We loved every minute we spent with them! They didn't intrude on our "private time" before we sought them out...but once we did, they were so friendly and inviting that we considered them instant friends! They had great stories to tell and told us that we were the first party to consist of so many more kids than adults. :rotfl: I think that had scared them when they saw it on paper. Thankfully our kids used their good behavior and the ship's crew was complimenting them before long.

Happily very shortly after getting underway, his medicine kicked in and Stitch was once again his happy, healthy self!
GOODWDWcamera175.jpg

How much more relaxed could you possibly get? Cinderella and Stitch seemed to have cornered the market on the laid back look!
GOODWDWcamera160.jpg

An aside about Stitch and Cinderella. Those two are the very best of friends. They first met as babies (just a few months past their first birthdays) and being as both families hit it off so well, they had spent countless hours together before even turning two. From the time she could talk, Cinderella has told us that she is going to marry Stitch. Just last year, I asked her what the doll's name she was carrying was. She responded with no hesitation that it was Mabel Rose _______. The blank was my last name. When I asked her about it (I mistakenly thought she might have just liked our family name lots:rotfl: ) she said it was the last name of all of her dolls cause that was their dad's last name. Oh my goodness, I don't ever think I laughed so hard on the inside while trying to keep a straight face on the outside. :rotfl2: I remember being in physical pain and when my eyes met her moms...we both got up and ran from the room with tears in our eyes. We just couldn't hold it together and as I ran out, I heard her saying "Those moms sure are crazy" to her baby doll. :rotfl:

Back to the point of the aside. It wouldn't be anything short of a miracle of those two do end up together...but if they do, they are going to have quite the wedding reception slide show if they do.:rotfl: We have pictures of the two of them sleeping in a playpen with nothing but a diaper on, all curled up together like little puppies. We have pictures of them mad as hornets at each other and in the process of trying to kick at each other. We have pictures of them watching the fireworks just last year with their heads on each other's shoulders and their tiny arms around each other. I also have another picture from that same day last year where they are sitting on top of Abu (her older brother) and pretending he is a horse. Now we can add the pictures from this magical day and the rest of our joint time on vacation that was to follow to the stack of pictures of the two of them growing up together. Ahhh...sorry for the aside, but knowing just how close the two of them have grown up being, it sort of puts the cherry on top of this day. That same closeness holds true for all six kids actually.

Of all of life's blessings, a family of friends, that everyone in your family enjoys and who you can count on both when the chips are down and also to enjoy the best moments like our dream day, is one of the sweetest!

Back back to our time on the yacht. We had a great time sailing all around and taking in the wonderful Disney sights! I know a night time cruise may have been more romantic and we would have had the option of seeing fireworks...but for what my opinion is worth, day time was the right time to sail on the Grand 1! We could see so much of the world...and we had a great time taking all of the sights in! Here are some of the many pictures I took over the course of our almost two hour cruise.

Day 5...We sail away with our dreams! PART TWO

I was completely and totally fascinated with the water bridge. Totally funny, but I remember dh and I trying to figure out why it looked like a boat was driving over us on the bridge one time a few years ago. :lmao: We totally did not realize there was a water bridge above the road. We just thought Disney must have had the boat on a flat bed truck to take it in for maintence or something. So, I was happy to find out the real reason that boats appeared on the road above was that it was not a road at all...but a channel of water that ran across a bridge! I don't have a clue why, but this totally excited the geek in me! :3dglasses

GOODWDWcamera165.jpg

GOODWDWcamera166.jpg

Dh and our Little Prince really took to hanging out up top with the captains.
GOODWDWcamera167.jpg

GOODWDWcamera172.jpg

The captain even took us to our resort home for this trip, the WL and idled while I took a picture of our room from the outside!
GOODWDWcamera169-1.jpg

A snapshot of Cinderella just a moment before she grabbed me in a big bear hug and said thank you over and over again. What a sweetie pie!
GOODWDWcamera170.jpg

Goofy and Cinderella enjoying each other's company.
GOODWDWcamera171.jpg

Excuse my lack of photography skill. Here is Goofy getting a lesson in what it takes to safely captain the yacht.
GOODWDWcamera173.jpg

Can anyone guess where these next two pictures were taken?

GOODWDWcamera176.jpg

GOODWDWcamera177.jpg

Snow White and our DF (dear friend) were making faces, singing, pounding on the table and talking baby talk. Look at the shame that Abu felt over their behavior. :rotfl:
GOODWDWcamera179.jpg

Each time we passed a launch coming over from one of the resorts, we had a lot of fun waving to everyone.
GOODWDWcamera184.jpg

We were having such a grand time on the Grand 1...this may just have been the best part of our day! :cloud9:

TO BE CONTINUED....
