So here we are 17 days and rapidly counting down to a much anticipated trip to WDW with my 17 year old daughter and her friend and I am facing the possibility of having to have my foot casted! :sad2: 7 weeks ago I sprained my foot and I tried to be patient hoping that the sprain would heal as my doctor had predicted however that does not seem to be the case. I have an appointment for an MRI this week and the orthopedic specialist will then decide if I will have to be put in a cast or continue to wear this huge, black ‘boot’ that he put me in last week at my appointment. I am trying not to let this put a damper on the trip but hobbling around my favorite place in the world for 8 days was not what I had in mind. Staying as positive as I can…hey the MNSSHP tickets arrived in the mail today!
:maleficen

Has anyone personally gone to WDW with an injured foot or with a family member or friend who has had a similar injury? I won't be solo exactly but with teenagers sometimes you might as well be. :rolleyes1 I am hoping I can still ride EE (first time), RNRC, etc. Any ideas, suggestions, comments would be greatly appreciated!

Go over to the disABILITIES! Forum. Think very seriously about an ECV from off-site. Read the "disABILITIES! FAQ" which is probably the 4th item down with lots of information. Ask questions there.

Thanks CF! I have vistited the disABILITIES! Forum and they have a lot of useful information. I posted here to hear from others who have visited WDW alone with an injury...I know I'll have the two teenagers but sometimes they are not as much help as I would like :3dglasses and I don't want to slow them down if I can help it! I can walk although slowly and if I do need a cast it will be a walking cast but again...slow going and I was thinking as a last resort renting a wheelchair only at the parks and 'walking' otherwise. We will be staying offsite (why I decided to stay offsite this time I will never know!) so transporting an ECV might not be an option.

Bummer about your foot, CoM, hope it heals before you get there! I visited DW with a friend on crutches a few years ago and we were able to bypass many of the lines, so that may be a positive. And I will be glad to assist you on to all the coasters!
