And Reese's daughter - is a Mini-Reese.
She is a tiny Heath for sure !!
I, for one, am not judging the poster. I think the idea was sweet. What I am tired of is celebs. They seems to get special notice for anything and every thing that they do, BIG DEAL.
). But it is a discussion board, and I will comment and share my opinions. There were a few women on that site that were far from lovely. There were a few that were pathetic excuses for mothers.Pot, meet kettleYes, this thread turned ugly by the venom, bitterness, resentment and judgment of some of the posters. They need to only look in the mirror to see ugly.![]()
Just goes to show that some people are TRYING to be offended. They WANT to be offended. There was nothing out of the ordinary about your OP or the lovely mothers and children in the pictures.
I don't find any of those kids any more attractive or beautiful than any other typical child you would see out in public. Yes, they have a famous parent or parents, but that's about it.
If you're talking about me, I'm not offended by the original post, I just don't agree with it. You can imply that the beauty that was being talked about was an inner beauty, but unless you know these people, you really wouldn't know that would you?

Or the opposite.
Words can be ugly also. You may not be offended but you came off like you were. It's like saying a woman is beautiful and someone barking "no she's not"... People usually react that way because they feel the need to disagree due to something THEY feel. It's valid, but if a stranger called your husband or your child beautiful, you'd accept it, even if they did not know them.
I understand that some people resent celebrities, that's a given especially on the DIS.
What I saw was Sandra Bullock who survived one of the most horrendous breakups in the public's eyes holding a child she gave a home.
I saw Michelle with a child that looks so much like her deceased father it's scary.
I saw Katie Couric, who lost her husband to colon cancer when they were almost babies, kissing her baby like she still was one.
I read how Liv Tyler's son calls her "his princess".
I saw MOTHERS. Single or not, rich or not, we all go thru the same fight. Celebrities don't have it easier, their crap is broadcast wherever and to whomever has it. Money doesn't make us better, I've known some of the wealthiest, MISERABLE PEOPLE in the world. They shouldn't be resented, they're just people who made different career choices. We could've made those choices, too.
I also feel that celebrities don't have the right to complain about their lives being played out in front of everyone, because they made the choice to play in that arena. When it benefits their career, most (not all) will use it to their advantage, but when they don't need it it's an annoyance. You can't have it both ways. Comes with the territory.
I wasn't offeneded by anything. I just don't agree, plain and simple. I really don't understand why people get so worked up because someone doesn't agree with their opinion. I don't see beauty in those pictures any more than I would seeing a mother sitting in a park with her child in my own neighborhood. I actually see more beauty in those moments because they're real and not played out for a tabloid cover or magazine article. It has to do with the celebrity status, that's all. I don't resent the celebrities that they included, I just don't see anything overly special about their kids other than they were born or adopted into a famous family.
You have your opinion, I have mine. It's nothing personal, I just don't agree.
Here's another one for you, since I seem to be on a roll.I also feel that celebrities don't have the right to complain about their lives being played out in front of everyone, because they made the choice to play in that arena. Look at someone like Kate Gosselin. She is the epitome of attention seeking 'celeb' (even though I wouldn't officially consider her a celeb). She loves the attention but when she thinks she's had enough or it turns to negative attention, she cries that 'The P people' are bothering her and the kids.![]()
I, for one, am not judging the poster. I think the idea was sweet. What I am tired of is celebs. They seems to get special notice for anything and every thing that they do, BIG DEAL. I have so much more respect for the average woman that is doing this single handed. I don't think Celebs do anything the hard way. They have so much more resources that the average person. Sorry but they just don't earn any respect in my world. Yes there are very few exceptions, but still, I don't feel the need to go all ga ga over them. They are raising kids like the rest of us.
Yep the kids are cute, but all kids and single parents should get the same respect that celebs do. And as another pp said, there are a few that hardly make the grade as parent.
) And then I read this. LIFE itself is hard. Being a celebrity makes some things easier, and it makes some things harder. I don't believe for one second that Liam had an easier time with his wife's death than a random non-celebrity would have. In fact, I'm willing to bet that his celebrity added a mountain of burdens that non-celebs can't even imagine.I couldn't agree more. It would be nice if the general public stopped giving these people so much attention.
I was going to post a picture of Liam Neeson as a hot single dad (because, as my name suggests, I like looking at guys more than girls...) And then I read this. LIFE itself is hard. Reese Witherspoon is single because her husband cheated on her with a coworker. Do you really believe that it was easier for her because she's famous?
I'm not a fan of Katie Couric, but she's a single mom because her husband died from cancer. Funny how even celebs have to deal with the disease. Somehow I doubt his death was easier on her because she's famous.
And Sandra Bullock is, quite simply, an amazing individual.
I think people need to stop being so judgmental. If you don't enjoy celebrity news, don't read about it.
Well, I enjoy celeb news. I'm a movie buff and I enjoy reading about the people in the movies I enjoy. Deal with it.

Jersey Shore, Dancing with the Stars to name a FEW) but there is a market, so the rest of us have to deal with it.

I don't consider Katie Couric a celeb. Yes she is famous. She also has a real job. Sorry but celebs don't. That is the way I feel about it. They may have a talent. The divorce rate is much higher in La La land. I wonder why. I bet it is because they are pretty much spoiled little people.
I can't even muster a comment.

Your post was a bit extreme, IMO.
