Good Day Everyone :wizard:

Soon we will be leaving on our yearly January trip to Disneyworld. This year we have an added bonus. We will be taking my husbands 16 year old god-daughter along with us this year. This will be her first time there. The only downfall is for the first time, we will be staying off Disney grounds. (This has been a whole issue with me) We are staying at Cypress Pointe Grande Villas this year in a three bedroom because my brother and sister, and her family will be joining us. I know it will not be our CBR or Old Key West, but I am sure we will survive...Maybe :confused3

Anyways, any suggestions to make this an extra special trip for her? She has had a really rough life and has gone through more in 16 years then most of us go through in a lifetime, so I want to make this extra special for her. She has been living with us now for a couple of months, and has made such improvements in her grades and overall life.

I have ordered her some bambi trading pins and a lanyard already to pin trade in the parks with my son.

Any suggestions to make it very magical for her? princess:

Make sure to get the first time guest pin!! It's something she can wear at the park and Cast Memebers always congratulate first timers and maybe do a little something extra for her. Try doing the hidden mickey's search! But to truly be honest with you-- it'll be magical enough. :) Make the effort to see the fireworks and various shows. Also, if there's any merchandise she likes try to purchase it for her (if you can of course, and well within reason! ;) ). Maybe make a package filled with stuff she can use when your going. Make reservations for character dining and IF (saying if because I don't know if all 16yr old would be...) she is interested, splurge on The BBB for hair and makeup. Maybe you two can do it together? Good luck and have fun! She'll have a great time!

First time pin? Where do we get that? And what is the BBB hair and make-up? I am sure she would LOVE having her hair and make up done, seeing as it takes her HOURS every morning to do herself! :rotfl: I was just planning on taking her to get her hair braided, but that sounds like more fun. My sister was planning on us taking her to the cinderella breakfast with my 5 and 8 year old nieces. Thanks for the great suggestions! We are doing all the parks, and downtown disney, and one day seaworld, clearwater beach, and MAYBE universal. (Budget is a bit tighter this year paying for five this year instead of four-we always take my brother with us each year also as his Christmas present :santa: Which is my fault, he is 25, four years ago I took him for the first time, pretty much kicking and screaming cause he said it would be stupid, now he is disney hooked!! Sometimes I think even worse then me! It is funny seeing this VERY large big thug trading disney pins!)

The day before we left, I pulled each family member aside and asked if there was ANYthing that they didn't do, that they would feel bad about if they missed. It was my way of fulfilling their wish! She is going to have a great time....

Hey there! I believe you get the First Time Pins at Guest Services at the park (I think.. double check with the other DISers), you just walk up and tell them that it is her first time. BBB is short for Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. It is more geared at the younger kids and they do like sparkle hair and makeup. Again, if she is 16 and a makeup addict as most 16 year olds are, I'm not sure if she'd be interested in this. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/moreMagic/shoppingDetail?id=BibbidiBobbidiBoutiquePage
That should link you to the BBB homepage, if not, just google it! :) If you have anymore questions, send me a private message or just post here and I'd be MORE than happy to help if I can. Have a nice night!

That is wonderful that you are trying so hard to make this special for her. While my DS16 has not had a rough life he did go along with us on our first family WDW vacation in Sept. DS16, DD8 DD5. We agreed to do everything as a family. He did the Princess meals for the girls and we booked Sci-Fi, Planet Hollywood and 50s Primetime for him. Everyone got what they wanted and was able to help the others enjoy 'their" meals.

We found that those three restaurants were wonderful for his age.
Although he throughly enjoyed CMs.

She may like the BBB experience as well. Our girls loved it.

Have fun!

Hey Im 16 too, and though I've been to Disney alot, and havent had a terrible life, hard yes but not terrible, maybe I can help you.
Though I am not into the whole hair/makeup thing I have heard that the BBB is for younger kids, kinda like a Club Libby Lu (other DIS correct me if wrong) so I'm not sure if she would like that so much. She may think its young.
Rollarcoasters and high thrill rides are probablly what she will like because well we are teens and thats the kinda thing all my friends like. You probablly know which ones to go on. But at the same time the classics are a must for a first timer, Small World, Peter Pan, etc...
I'm not sure if she'd like this, but maybe set aside a certain time to do something special, just you and her. I've heard tea at GF is cool or spa. This year my mom and I are 'hanging' out for part of a day while my dad and little brother are golfing.
I hope she has a great time during her first trip to Disney and your whole group enjoys the trip. PM if you need any more.

I don't think you are ever too old to meet your favorite character. A character meal with her favorite would be very special or at least a picture.
Since she has never been she might like an autograph book, she could add pictures to. It would be a great memory book. I just about pushed my boys down trying to get my own picture of just "mom and Figment"
