Wednesday, Record Low of 28 this morning!!! Today will be Sunny and high in the 50's but I doubt it will make it!
Well, this is supposed to be Florida, not NJ! But I called back home and it is snowing and 15 degrees so at least we are slighty warmer here!
Most of us are going to EPCOT today. The party of 4 who arrived yeasterday are going to MGM and meet us at 4:30PM for PS for FANTASMIC at Mamma Melrose.
We get to EPCOT and decide to go on UE and get a FP for TT. Now my DB and his 2 girls did not dress warm enough so while we are in line for UE he decides to run to Mouse Gear to buy sweatshirts!!! Him and 50 million other people. So my DS and I go with him while the others stay in line. 30 minutes and $60 later we have the coveted sweatshirts and make our way back to UE. Of course the other 10 are inside by now on the ride so the preshow starts and I tell my DB & DS to go on the ride and I will wait at the exit for the others. A CM sees me waiting outside and shows me the way to go inside and wait. Now I did not know that there are 2 complete shows going on at the alternate times. The first show empties and no one from my party is on it. I think I may have missed them then it dawns on me that another show is about to empty in 5 min. So I wait and sure enough here comes my group. Now the girls put on their sweatshirts and we wait for my DB & DS. Of course they break the ride!!!! Just like Dinosaur and they have to let people out from another way!!! AGHHHHHHHHHH! Just what I wanted to do, wait around for everyone while I see nothing but I oh well such is life!
We finally meet up with everyone and we go on TT with our FP. Then my group decides they all want FROZEN cokes, no thank-you I am frozen enough! So we wait for them to get those and then we head back to the room to get ready for MGM and our PS.
We dress very warm and each of us carries a canvas Mickey bag (I purchased them 10 years ago, I think I have 20 of them), with a pink blanket from the hotel in them! I think we actually had 6 bags. The party of 4 took 2 blankets with them also! Now, we are prepared for later when we are sitting on those cold bleachers, which I also brought towels from the hotel to warm up the seats! So everyone had a bag to carry and they were pretty light and no one complained. I could have sold those blankets for $50 each that night...LOLOLOL.
We make it to Mama Melrose at exactly 4:30PM and I tell the hostess we want to sit together. All 16 of us. We do not mind waiting and we did wait 30 minutes. But the service was great and so was the food. Some had the Ribeye, Shrimp Rossetta, Lobster Fra Diablo, 4 cheese indiviual pizza, 2 child's Pizzas, 2 cups of Veg. Ministrone soup, Pasta Primavera and some other. We also split the checks usually 4 ways with each family sitting together to make it easier for the server. We all loaded up on hot coffee and tea.
Dinner lasted 1 1/2 hours and by this time we decided to start making our way to the show. When you have a large party they automatically add 15-18% gratuity even if you split up the checks which was fine by us. Also if you are doing the FANTASMIC seating you can get 2 or more tickets if some in your party want to meet you there. Some of us wanted to go walk through the Osborne Lights again so we had seperate tickets to get into Fantasmic. They were checking them that night!
We walked into Fantasmic and it sure is a long walk up the hill! I bought one of those lighted extend-a-sword in multicolors and I held it high above my head as I walked in front so my party could see me and not get seperated. We had a ball doing this and everyone who saw us laughed and said it was a great idea! IT DID KEEP MY TROOPS IN LINE!
The pre-show was pretty lame but of course FANTASMIC was AWESOME! It is my personal favorite! Of course we bought Cotton Candy and PopCorn, I know we just ate but we did skip dessert! After the show we caught the First bus back to the Coronado! THe Coronado Bus is always fast and close to the entrance of most parks! This was a definate perk. Some of the bus stops were far away and very crowed like the All Stars...it seemed people were always waiting for those buses!
We got back to our rooms and I went to sleep while some of us went to THE HOT TUB!!!
BTW the blankets and towels worked great! I always take towels to sit on during the MK parades also!
Tomorrow my brother's 2 girls are leaving to go back to Pittsburgh so they can spend Christmas with their mother. Some of us are going to MK and some to Disney Quest again!
