16 holding points expiring 11/30...

I have 16 points in holding that are expiring at the end of the month. I had family who possibly was going to go down so I held onto them, but they are not going to end up going.

I was wondering if anybody here would like them for free. I can transfer them to you (I believe holding points can be transferred?) or do whatever is most convenient. Just looking for them not to be wasted and again I am not looking for anything in return.

Nothing would change for an existing reservation unless you called and asked for a reallocation.

The reallocation should be refused if there is no current availability for the nights you want to pay for with the transferred holding points. (Occasionally, individual MS CMs will sprinkle a bit of pixie dust on these requests, but not often enough for anyone to count on it).

Its a bit of a long shot with only 2 weeks left to use them, however I figured I'd at least check and hope they may get used.

Correct. But if there is no waitlist for that night, MS will probably allow you to use them. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to know if a waitlist exists for that single night. Not sure if MS can or will tell you before you go ahead with the transfer. Could be worth a call to see - I'd tell MS that a friend has offered them to you for free, but you don't want to take them if they couldn't be used.

Another thought: All wait lists expire 7 days before arrival. Maybe MS would allow you to use the points then.
