16 Days of Disney Dining - Yummy

I have a got a few minutes so I am going to enter my first dining review. Writing these always makes me feel like I am still in Disney. It also makes me hungry.

We went to Olivias on 06/19 for dinner. It was 2 adults and 5 children. 4 of us were on the deluxe and the rest cash. Our ADR wasx for 5:45, but after driving for 22 hours we were hungry and decided we would check in a little early and were seated right away.

Our server was great. He was very attentive. The restaurant was not busy so they might have made the service a little better. It was cute inside, nothing special, but comfortable.

My choices were the crab cakes for an appetizer and the mahi mahi for entree and I took cheesecake to go. The crab cakes were great. I wanted more. I probably could have eaten a whole plate of them. I found myself scraping the sauce off my plate which got weird so had to stop. My mahi mahi was also very good. DH said it smelled like fish he hates seafood. I told him it is fish and that he had to deal since I never do seafood at home. The cheesecake was standard. Good.

DH got a ceasar salad for an app. You will notice DH is a little boring with food choices. I mean he is more conservative. You will see what I mean. He said it was good. The restaurant special was meatloaf. he ordered that. It was just ok. I tasted. I always have to taste just to make sure it is safe. (that is what I tell my kids, they do not believe me anymore) He said it was ok, but took it back to the room to eat later.

The kids ordered off the kids menu. Grill Chicken, meaty pasta, cheeseburger all standard fare for disney kids meals. They had ice cream sundaes for dessert. We made a dessert rule on this trip fruit for lunch ice cream at dinner. This obviously only applied to the kids.

I really enjoyed Olivias. I would definitley go there again. I would probably not go out of my way to eat there, but if staying at the resort most definitley.

One of the best parts was the pineapple bread. We loved it. We had him bring us like 3 servings of it.

The whole reaon we went to this breakfasti sbecause I love Stitch. Although for the record we will stick with :we went for the children" Our ADR was for 10:30am. We thought we would want to sleep in since the long drive and stuff, but that did not happen. We were up and out and arrived at Ohanas at 9:30 am and they took us within 10 minutes. The walk up wait was 45 minutes so glad we had an ADR.

We have eaten here before and love it. It is one of our favorites, a must do. Again it is 7 of us 2 adults and 5 children. Our server was good. The food is served family style. They probably have the best eggs, well that is what my family voted at the end of the trip. They served sausage and bacon. The bacon was nice and crispy. Tons of mickey wffle, Yeah!!! This was our first fix of them. We all fill up the ears and face with syrup and eat an ear first since that is the standard way to eat them. The homefries were ok and bicuits too. The juice is great. I am usually not a big juice drinker, but I love this juice.

We were there for about an hour. The serve brought my kids out cupcakes since we were celebrating their bdays on this trip. Cupcakes at 10:30am, we took them to go.

We had a great time here and it will remain a must do.

We knew we would be in Downtown Disney today. We changed our reservation a few times. First we booked it, then we cancelled it because of the reviews that showed no love, then we rebooked it and decided it to try it for ourselves.

So glad we did, we loved it here. It was actually one of DH's top 5. The food was great, our server was great, and the place was great.

We were on the deluxe here.
For appetizers we started off with the buffalo tenders and the chicken crunch. We love chicken. I could probably eat chicken everyday. I love that it is so accomadating and you can pretty much put it with anything and it will get along. I was not sure if I liked the chicken crunch but after the 2nd bite I decided I did. The buffalo was good as well.

Dh got the cheesburger and said it was great. he swallowed it all down before i could test it for him. I had the california lasagna and loved it. We almost went back again during the trip so i could have it.

We shared a brownie sundae which we took to go. It was delicious.

The kids had the pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and chicken fingers. They all had left overs and so did I so we took back to hotel to have later.

We had a reservation at the turf club for dinner but never got there. We ate our left overs in the room instead.

We will go back here on our next trip. I am so glad we tried it.

Planet Hollywood and Ohanas wew on 06/20. That is all I will posting for today. Tomorrow I will try and post Coral Reef and San Angel Inn which we did on 06/21.

I'm glad to read that you enjoyed Planet Hollywood. We have only been there once (about 5 years ago) and it was just so-so. Our DD has always wanted to go there though, so October may be the time for a return visit. :)

Looking forward to more. :goodvibes

I LOVE PH!!!!!!!!! I dont get all the crap it gets! I LOVE it!! Love the L.A Lasgna! I get it everytime we go! it's a must do in my book!

The chicken crunch strips at planet hollywood are sooooo good! My boyfriend asked me today if I was booking planet hollywood because he wanted the chicken again!

Just joining in and loving your reviews so far. I think it's funny your hubby doesn't like seafood and you guys live in Rhode Island!!! I am from CT but we live in Arizona now and I really miss good, fresh seafood.

I am back, sorry for the wait. I came back to work on Tuesday from vacation and my boss fires my only other co worker the day I come back so now the office is crazy and I want to go back to Disney. This was DH first trip so now he keeps saying it to. "I wish we were still in Disney"

Ok on to the next one....

OMG, that's awful! I don't blame you and your DH for wanting to go back to Disney.

This is one of my daughters favorite 3 places to eat in Disney. Well it has changed now that we tried 13 new places while we were there. The only reason we went was because she loved it there. I did not like my first experience there, but figured hey give it another shot. I didnt like DH too much in the beginning and it worked out later. LOL

We are on the deluxe for this meal.
By the way DH is allergic to seafood, he might like it if he could eat it. he doesnt like the smell though so probably not.

We checked in 10 minutes before our ADR and were seated 20 min later. We were hungry so group was getting cranky. Our group consisted of 2 adults and 5 kids again.

Our server was rude and we had a hard time understanding his english which made the ordering process harder. He brought out the wrong drinks the first time, but I am never rude at a restaurant unless really pushed so I just let him know and he brought out the right ones.

For appetizers, DH ordered the sea and land minus the sea so they doubled up the land. It was a very small portion, but it was good. (i did get to test this for him an it was safe so i let him preceed) I had the shrimp and lobster cake it was very good. No complaints on apps except small.

I had been looking forward to the lobster ravioli, because I love lobster ravioli. It was very diappointing. It was kind of dry and was not what I expected as I ate I aquired the taste, but it was not like what we have around home.

DH got the steak and said it was the worse steak he had and the sides were not cooked right. He did not like it there although he was still angry about the drink situation. His drink was messed up 3 times plus it was a long wait. He gets cranky on hot days.

We skipped dessert here. The kids all liked it here. There food was standard fare. They enjoyed looking at the fish. I like how the restaurant is set up and was hoping this time would be a good experience, but it was not. :(

The waiter took a long time with everything except for getting us the bill and getting us out. Oh well at least dinner was better.

First off, this is another restaurant that I made a ressie then canceled it then made another. I had hear all bad reviews, but we have always wanted to try it. I think the inside is beautiful. The shooting star, the river, the night sky, it is just very beautiful. I must also add the majority of our party loves mexican food.

We arrived about an hour late for this ressie so were not even sure if we would be seated, but we were and within 5 minutes. Our waiter was not to friendly, but was good at what he needed to be doing. We were sat right on the balcony, at the edge. It was a perfect view.

We were a party of 7 again. We were on the deluxe plan. We started off with apps that we decided to share with the whole table. We ordered Tacos de Pato and Tostados de Tinga. The first one is duck and the 2nd one was chicken. We all liked them.

By the way they bring out chips and salsa when they seat you. It was so good and tasted so fresh. A fight almost broke out at our table over them. I think other people might have noticed because i could have sworn I saw cameras come out. LOL. Basic point when the chips come out grab a handful and a scoop of salsa right away.

Fo the entrees the kids all ordered the taco kids meal which they liked, but it was kind of plain. Me and DH decided to share he is not big into Mexican food so sometimes I have to lie about what he is eating or hide certain parts of it. We ordered Filete Motuleno which was very good and Pollo A Las Rajas which was also very good. He enjoyed the chicken more and i enjoyed the beef one more. This meal was so filling.

For dessert we all had vanilla ice cream with churro it was delicious. That is when they all got hooked to churros. It got so bad that DH would save some of his churro to have at other restaurants for dessert. He would add it to his ice cream. He really only like vanilla ice cream for dessert 9 like i said kind of boring)

We really enjoyed this experience. The menu is limited and you do need to like mexican food to really enjoy it I think. We would definitley do again, but not a must do.

Thanks everybody for reading in. I love Disney Dining. I hope the reviews help with some of your choices and help answer questions.

Next will be 06/22

Sci Fi Dine In

Wolfgang Puck Cafe

Great reviews! You have me thinking of changing my lunch adr at Coral Reef to San Angel. Looking forward to reading about Wolfgang Puck's!

We had a ressie at Sci Fi Dine in for 11:10am. We got there at 11:30 and were seated in less than 10 minutes. We got a car which we were very excited about. We did have to sit 2,2,3. I would not recommend putting more than 2 adults in a seat. It was tight.
My kids love this place the food is ok, but the surroundings make up for it.We were on the deluxe for this meal as well. We were 2 adults and 5 children.
For our appetizers we got the BLT soup. DH was not feeling to well today so he barely touched his soup so i did. I like the blt soup. It is different to me. We both got the burgers. I had mine fully loaded and dh had his plain. They were good. He ate some, but took it to go. He had it about 2 hours later. The fries were good. he finished those and some of mine. I will post a pic of him later. If you ever see him around guard your fries.
We both got the fruit cups to go and it was a nice snack to have for the day. They do not carry bags there so you are stuck carrying your stuff, but one of the local stores gave us one.
The movies and commercials are funny and the set up is fun.
Sci Fi dine in has been a must for us and will probably stay that way. If your going for food than not that great, but for fun, it is a definite.
