16 Days of Disney Dining - Yummy

I have to say, I was not even going to try Wolfgang Puck. We had a ressie for Brown Derby and I cancelled it and made one for WPC about 2 weeks before the trip. Our ressie was for 5:00. We got there at 6:30. I know you are seeing a pattern of lateness. I would like to point out that I am very punctual normally, but one more ride or let me sleep for 5 more minutes won on this trip. I was nervous they would not seat us, but they did and pretty quickly too.

This place is not fun looking ot impressive just typical restaurant look. The menu and different boards are the reasons I wanted to try it. We are on the deluxe here. Our waitress was very good she made a couple of mistakes, but handled them very well. The kids liked having a little variety on the menu too other than the standard. It was 7 of us again 2 adults and 5 kids.

For appetixers, I was very excited. I got to order sushi. I love sushi and did not think it would be allowed on dining plan, but it was. Yea!!! DH did not share in my excitement. I cannot remember what sushi I got. I think the excitement took over, but it was very good and tasted fresh. DH got a salad, (i told you, boring)
For entrees I decided to try what my fellow disney lovers recommended, the pumpkin ravioli and i added chicken. It was soooo GOOD. I loved it. I would not share it, so no one in my family can back me up, but it was delicious. DH had the half chicken and he said it was cooked very good and he loved the potatos.
For dessert, we got chocolate lava cakes very yummy.

I was pleasantly surprised by WPC. My kids loved it and we loved it. I would definitley go there again.

On June 23rd we had a ressie to go to Jiko and missed it. I am still upset about this. I really wanted to go. I do not think i will feel better about it until i get to go.

so on 06/23 -

Olivias - breakfast

Sanaa - lunch

Mara - dinner

What's coming up sounds great!

It's actually nice to read that even though you were late for ressies, you were still seated. That will bring a little less anxiety to me next week. My DH takes SOOOOOOOOO long to get ready that we are always running late. ;) I'm not going to stress, though. I am on vacation!

Can't wait to read more!

If it was a toss-up between San Angel Inn and Coral Reef, which one would you pick based on your experience? I love both Mexican and seafood, and I've gone back and forth between the two for our one day at Epcot. I remember loving CR as a kid, but I don't know if I loved looking at the fishies more than the food, and I've read that the quality of the food isn't that great. Right now I have an ADR at SAI...can't beat the volcano view in there!

I would definitely go with San Angel Inn. I asked the kids too, if there was no fish would you want to eat there. They said no. We had a great experience at San Angel Inn and have had 2 bad experiences at Coral Reef. Mexico is so nice in EP. I love Mexican food and it was good. The view was great and the kids had fun waiting for the shooting star. I liked seeing it too.
Let me know what you decide to do and make sure to post a review of your experience. I would like to hear. I had not heard much about San Angel, but glad we tried it.

We had about 30 reservations and I can honestly say we were late for at least half. LOL. DH takes forever too. Nobody gave us a problem about being late which was great.

Ok we went to Olivias around 10:30am. Our ressie was for 10:20am. We were seated right away. There were 9 of us at this meal. 4 adults and 5 children. We were on the deluxe still.
For the appetizer I had the sunrise platter. I did not like it at all, everything tasted old. I was very disappointed. I tried sharing it, but noone else wanted it either. DH got the fruit cup which was fine.
The meal defintiely made up for the appetizer. I got the banana bread french toast and oh WOW it was amazing. The people who did not want to share the sunrise platter all wanted to share in my banana bread french toast, but unfortunately for them I was not in a sharing mood anymore. Now that I am writing about it i really want some more.
DH ordered the pancakes and eggs. He said they were good. Basic, didnt stand out, but definitely not bad.
Between the 5 kids they ordered the waffles, the pancakes, and the eggs and all of them loved their breakfast. I would defintiley do olivias for breakfast again.

I was very excited to eat here. I love trying different foods. We were 20 min late for our ressie and were seated in about 5 min. The restaurant was pretty much empty. It was dark and very cold. The chairs were beautiful and if it had not been so cold i would have been very comfy.
We were still on the deluxe for this and again a party of 9. For our appetixers we got Lamb Kefta it was good and we shared with the table. Most of the table liked it.
For my entree I picked the combination meal it comes with rice. I had the shrimp and chicken. DH had the chicken and beef. It was real good. Nothing to spicy and cooked very well. The rice was good especially mixed with the sauce.
They had a dessert sampler we ordered 2 of those and shared them. They were really good. I wish I could remember what it was, but it came with 3 desserts and 2 were real yummy, one was not my taste.
Sanaa was good, but did not make the list of must do's. I would go there again only if staying at AKL or AKV.

This is a food court so not too much to say. The fries there are good. I do want to point out the Mara salad though. I thought it was great. I ordered it again during the trip. I totally recommend it. It is very filling and has a good taste to it. Whenever going to Mara DH ordered the double cheesbuger or the chicken dinner he said both were good/standard.

We were supposed to go to jiko tonight and ended up not being able to. I was very disappointed.

June 24th....

Flametree BBQ for lunch

and

Yak and Yeti for dinner

We usually do flametree, because of the heat we decided to try pizzafari instead and glad we did. We went at about 12:30 and it was not half as busy as flametree was. It was air conditioned and roomy. We got the italian sandwhiches. They were so good. It could be because i was not expecting much but they were really good. We were on the basic dining plan here. The kids all got pizza and they said it was very good as well. Cant say too much about counter service really. I would say i would go there again. I was pleasantly surprised.

We had a ressie for 6:20 and got there 10 minutes late. We we waited about 10 minutes for a table. I really like yak and yeti. I like the decor and the service has always been good there. There is not many options for TS at AK. We were on the basic dining plan here. We were a party of 7. 2 adults and 5 children. i ordered the Duck with Anandapur Glaze this upset my children and they mde sure they told Donald the next time we saw him. One of them did taste it though and said they liked it. It was good. The rice was good too. I ordered this the last time I came here as well and liked itthen too. DH ordered the Crispy honey chicken. He said it was not enough food for him, but this is coming from a man who likes to eat 5 meals a day (not small ones) he said it was very good though. i ate his veggie and it was delicious.
The kids menu has a few non standard fare which they were happy about. The menu had egg rolls which 2 of them ordered and egg roll which one ordered the other 2 klids stuck with standard fare. Our server was really good. She was very friendly and attentive, but not overly crowding.
It is not a must do for us but we do enjoy it,

I'm all caught up again. Looking forward to your Lottawatta Lodge review as we'll be spending a day at BB in October and don't know where we'll be dining that day. :)

We went to BB on the 25th we got there a little before 10 and were hungry by 12:30 so I had already planned on us eating at Lottowa Lodge. We were able to get a table that was shaded. It was busy it took about 15 minutes to order , get our food, and get a table. We were on the basic dining plan still. dh got the bacon double he said it was good. Fries were good. We all likexd the fries. DH actually went and ordered more . He is my Fry Guy. I ordered the chicken wrap. It is very big and filling. I could not believe how full I got from it. The kids meals come in pails which was very cute. The kids chicken wrap is much smaller. I want to say even though the chicken taste good I think it was procesed chicken. I didnt expect anything extravagant, it a water park. I was happy with the choice though and when at BB I will eat there again.

I'm glad you enjoyed lunch at BB - guess that's our water park dining sorted out then. :cool2:

Boma was convenient for us since it was in akl and we were at akv. Our ressie was for 6:30. We were right on time for this one and were seated in about 5-10 minutes. We were on the standard dining plan. There were 7 of us. 2 adults and 5 children. 2 of the children were considered didney adults. If I was not on the dining plan. I would never pay what they charge. On the dining plan though I think it is totally worth it. They have a great soup selection. They have american and african food. I thought the selection was good. They are one of my favorites for dessert variety. We all loved the desserts. They were small so you could try them all, which we did. My dh is a very picky eater and still enjoyed this meal. The kids liked it too. They ate the standard kid fare and tried stuff from the "adult" part of the buffet. We did dress up for this meal, and alot of people were dressed up., but there were people in jeans too. We just thought it would be fun to get all dressed up since we were not doing a park this night.
I would definitley go here again. I would not go crazy trying to get there though but if staying at akl or akv or going after a day at AK then it I would definitley.

I want to point out. We had an 11 and 12 year old with us. Some restaurants let them order off the kids menu, but keep in mind some would not. Mama melrose was one. there were 2 or 3 more like that.
