Heck, I am on a roll and just found out that there will be no trivia game tonight so what the heck, might as well hang out here. My brain will probably atrophy from lack of exercise and I will forget the rest of the trip if I wait much longer anyway.
October 21st
EPCOT is our favorite park so we are headed back there again today. I could spend my life living just there. Not sure if it is the scenery or all the great food that makes me feel that way though.
Decided to eat our way around the World today rather than sit down to any big meals. I have decided that the Food & Wine Festival is not for me. Many of the items offered can be bought in larger quantity for less at the counter service places IMHO. Norway was our first stop as I had spied a double chocolate cake the other day. I added a cup of rice cream to my order and dh and I shared this extremely well balanced breakfast. The rice cream had milk and fruit and I am sure the cake had an egg or two in it. These will be new favorites on upcoming trips. It was $6.16 for both and well worth it. The food court is a pleasant place to sit and watch people go by also. We were hanging out until time for the concert so we just took our time, stopping to visit with fellow guests and let dh window shop to his hearts content. I do not like to shop. Go figure. We stopped by the China counter service for one of our favorite stops later in the day, consuming a beef and rice bowl, egg rolls, mango smoothie, red bean ice cream (sound awful but it is soo good) and they had the wonton strips available. I had tried several times before to no avail. Imagine my surprise when I saw the size of the bag. It was huge. Really huge. I believe a family of six big eaters would have trouble consuming them at one serving. At about $1.50 per bag they are a real bargain and I reccomend them over the high priced popcorn some buy. We were able to see part of the Chinese Acrobats after we ate. Finding a good seat is hard unless you care to pull up a piece of concrete and trust your delicate loins to such but if you are young you will survive. I am not.
Before getting in line for The Commodores I took dh to the Australian booth for a wine tasting. It was $6 to try five different kinds. I gave him a lecture on the fact that he should sip rather than just toss them down his gullet. Not sure he complied but what the heck, I tried. LOL
The Commadores were good but I feared for the health of one of the singers. He appeared to be wearing bandages under his shirt and when he sang I watched for traces of blood or something. It is so great to see, in person, some of my favorite singers from my youth. I just do not understand how they have changed so much while I have not. (yes, I wear glasses)

WE did not go to any parks today!! Somehow I managed to forget to post that we took a DVC tour one day. Went over to Saratoga Springs. It was lovely but not quite our style. I am so tempted to buy in but since dh is even older (much older) than I am and we are not blessed to have children who share our Disney dreams it is probably not wise. Maybe some of you will volunteer to be adopted by me so that I could pass it on to you?? Warning, only erudite, slightly warped and extremely patient people need apply. LOL Anyway, we drove over to Old Key West to take a tour of that resort. It is one of the ones we have never stayed at that interest me. I was correct that it was more of our speed. Quiet and very family oriented and pleasant without being stuffy. This would be my choice for a home resort. The lady that gave us the tour has 800 points. If I had only bought in when I first thought about it we would be almost 13 years ahead of the game. Drove over to Beaches & Cream to use our vouchers. This was our first trip. Was smaller than I had expected but we got the last table. DH had the Philly Cheesesteak and I had the double cheeseburger (getting the most bang for their buck). Both of us had onion rings and iced tea as well. The servings were huge and my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I had noted a lady sitting to our right and figured her for a possible DISer, you can sort of feel these things ya know?? Turns out I was right, she was MHelsley from Texas on her own as her hubby had just left to go back to work. Wish I had had the courage to speak up earlier so we might have gotten to know each other a bit better. I ordered a small version of the No Way Jose and dh ordered a banana split. Funny thing is that the split did not have a banana in it, not sure if it was accidental or not but there was more than enough to satiate dh. I was only able to eat a couple of bites of mine although MHelsley assured me that it was, in fact, a small version of it. I am afraid that any good first impression I might have given her was destroyed by my last impression as I got violently sick. It was quite embarrassing. She headed into the bathroom after me and there was nothing I could do about it. I am so very sorry. Please forgive me. If I could have avoided it I would and next time I will heed your words of wisdom and we will SHARE a voucher. I should have known better.
We went to the area Winn Dixie to stock up on a few things that we were out of and then to Legoland to procure some new items for our favorite boys. One of the CM's very nicely showed me items that not only would delight my grands but I could afford. I spent more than I had planned but then I had planned on it.

Their smiles would be well worth it and they were.
Perkin's was our choice for dinner even though we ate breakfast foods. Not quite as good as it has been in the past. For some reason every person I meet tells me their life story and our waitress was no different. She seemed sweet though. It was not as clean as before although the food was quite good. Do you think that by calling those things m uffins instead of cupcakes, which they surely are, makes them lower in calories? Just wondering.

Tom wanted to go back to see Spectro yet again and even I, who has to hold seats for 3 hours, decided that was worthwhile. We lazed around the resort in the morning, hanging a do not disturb sign on our door as our maid was wont to stop by for a morning chat occasionally. Had to take care not to dress in the room as you were never quite sure when the door was going to open without warning. I think she liked the Disney cards I printed up before we left to leave with her tip. She also might have enjoyed the fact that I made the room up on Sundays so she could go home early and did not make any messes for her to clean up. Being a woman I cannot stand to make messes for others to clean up.
We had met a couple from Indiana who were also celebrating their anniversary earlier in the day and told them where we would be sitting for the parade. They were headed to Cirque earlier and were not sure if they would be able to make it to find seats so we told them we would hold seats for them. They did not show up but an older couple of ladies were delighted to have such prime seats for the parade. Very interesting people, they take a non stop train to DW on their visits. Lucky ladies. We let the kids sit in front yet again while others stood behind us and we had the best seats in the park IMHO. Watched the parade and Wishes yet again and it was as great as last time, even if we did miss Janet2K's company.
