I contacted the Shareholder's club in order to know whether there was something special planned for the anniversary day (April 12). I got the following response:

Dear Sandra,

First of all, I would like to thank you for your continuous interest in Euro Disney S.C.A. and in the Shareholders Club.

The 15th anniversary of Disneyland Resort Paris will be marked by a full year of celebrations. It will start 1 April 2007. At the moment, nothing special is planned for the 12th of April 2007.

Festivities will begin in Disneyland Park on 31 March 2007 with the unveiling of the Sleeping Beauty Castle sporting its 15th Anniversary colours.

You will be able to discover the new "Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade" and it will have more and more opportunities to meet your favourite characters.

You will find them aboard Disney's Character Express and throughout the Park. You will be able to join our characters and help blow out the birthday candles during the singing and dancing "Candlabration", that will bring this day in Disneyland Park to a magical end.

More details will actually be available in the two next Shareholders Club Newsletters.

In June 2007, there will be a sneak preview for Shareholders Club Members of the two new attractions: Crush's Coaster (inspired by Disney - Pixar's Finding Nemo) and Cars Race Rally (inspired by Disney - Pixar's Cars). All the information about the Shareholders Club events will actually be available at www.eurodisney.com in May 2007.

Concerning The Tower of Terror, it will only open at the beginning of 2008.

I hope that the above is of help as regards your questions.

Feel free to contact us again for any further information.

Have a great year 2007.

I don't understand why they can never do anything special like in the US. I mean... how do they want to attract people when there is nothing for them? In CA, people were camping out from the previous day, in order to buy a commemorative pin!

DLP really misses the ball sometimes... Disney is specialized in getting the money out of your waller, except at DLP... :(

Possibly DLP have missed an opportunity with pins or something similar, but hopefully all the 15th Anniversary plans and new rides will boost attendance, and so bring in more than usual of that much needed cash. :thumbsup2

Thankyou Sandra for the info - I do hope we are lucky enough to see the Bougillumination on the 31st March, I hope that's whats meant by:

I'm also hoping that 15th Anniversary pins will be on sale, I've been watching the Countdown to the Anniversary pins on Ebay and whilst they are very beautiful, they are also expensive and usually located in the States.

i do think they've done well tho, with all the things that they're going to have going on - i know im excited! with the candelabration, new ways of transporting even more characters in celebration, the new parade with the exciting features including appealing to the senses, the 2 new rides. its going to be great!
and im sure they will have a commemorative pin hun, they usually do with important stuff.
i know maybe america make it a bigger deal, but then thats just the way it is over there. its never going to be the same in europe.
but i know that i cant wait for my trip!

A missed opportunity for a big celebration -- especially with the Disney Magic cruising the Mediteranean on 2007.

I know they have quite some things planned during the celebration year, but I think they always miss opportunities to do something special. Not only with "celebratings" but also with merchandising etc.

Thanks for posting that info :thumbsup2

Anyone have anymore info please?
i just looked at the disneyland 15 website , the pulldowns e.g. like go to gifts and games
and ''your souvenir photo album'' not working yet..
countdown.. 19 more days to go.
regards
Pauline

Does anyone know WHEN on the 31st they will unveil the castle? It won't be a press-excluisve event, I hope?

I just booked a two-day trip for the weekend of March 31 - April 1 :cool1: :cool1:   :yay: :yay:
I am going with my brother (by car and offsite, but it's the only way to stay within the budget).

I also asked today for two days off on April 12-13, so that I can go with my mom for the Anniversary itself. (also by car, and probably also offsite, although we might consider Santa Fe)

Park closes earlier on the 31st March at 8pm rather than the previously advertised 10pm. It is suggested that this means that the preview of Candleabration and the special fireworks will be an invitation only event.

***????????

OK, the investigation is open again, argh!

ETA: Well, we'll find out, I emailed the shareholders club again. At this pace, I will be close friends with those people very soon :rotfl:

It seems fairly certain that the new parade will be shown that day, hence no parade times on the 31st on the official site, over on the Disney Central Plaza forums the discussions is whether an 8.00pm closure will mean it's dark enough for the candle ceremony and there's a mention of fireworks for the press event.
I have emailed DLRP to ask:

a) Why the last minute change of opening hours on a Saturday ? (I'm quite annoyed at losing 2 hours park time out of a short trip)

b) Why is there no mention of show or parade times ?

This is the reply:
"We apologise as due to the current high volume of mails we are
receiving, we may be unable to answer your query.

However if you would like to receive a cost estimate or make a
reservation, you should follow these instructions:"

What a cop-out!
With less than 3 weeks to go - I'm not impressed.

That's the auto-generated email I also got from Disney. THEN I emailed the shareholders club, and got a decent answer :)

I don't think it will be really dark at 8 pm, doesn't the time change the weekend before??

ETA: I think my brother kills me if we are only going to encounter lots of guests and no "specials". It's the firts weekend of the easter vacation, but he was willing to suffer through the crowds for some "anniversary specials". If you don't get a report on the trip afterwards, you'll know he killed me

I received an answer regarding the 31st of March. I must say, I am very ... don't know the word, sad? :sad2: :sad2:

Here's the answer:

Dear Sandra,

Really, we invite you to come from April 1 at Disneyland Resort Paris. As indicated by Julien, Press Events are dedicated to journalists only and we strongly recommend you not to come on March 31 since the best places will all be reserved to the Press. It is a business event really important for the Company since we hope that all the European journalists presents will enjoy the Festivities and will spread the news in the papers inviting the most of people to join us at Disneyland Resort Paris duting the year of festivities !

Should you like to be the first one to see the unveiled Castle, you are welcome on March 31. The Shareholders Club events and special offers will come later on June.

Looking forward for your understanding,

Yours cordially

If I understand well, they kind of tell me to avoid coming on March 31st. :headache:
Great.
My brother is going to kill me, I guess...

Sandra thanks for letting the boards know.
Hope you can work something out and your brother understands :grouphug:

I guess, in the worst case, we can go golfing or shopping on Saturday... Or vist WDS :sad2:
My intuition tells me the park will be flooded with journalists, but I hope they have other things to do than go on rides (like press conferences, free dinner/ drinks, getting goodie bags, you know, all the "good stuff") (hey, maybe some nice journalist will be willing to supply me with press-only gifts! ) :rolleyes1

We'll survive (or at least, I hope I will :rotfl2: ) and we will be able to tell we were there! bwahaha!

Many quest will be very angry on 31 March! Imagine you are there with your children, and then all the good places of the parade are reserved for the press! But on the other hand they said on the official site that there will be no parade on the 31 March and that is ture! There is no parade for everybody!

And Sandra I think my people of the press will do the rides!

Well, in case it will really be a "press day", they should have chosen another day! Not a Saturday, and not the first day of the easter vacation (at least, for Belgium it's the first weekend of the easter vacation)
