........................................ ............ ......

My thoughts and prayers are with you...old friend. May you caper around the campfire with your grandchildren until you're too old to remember this worrisome time!

I love your attitude! My thoughts are with you.

It's 3:05 a.m. here - I just came in from a campfire - and I'm having a bowl of cereal as I type this.. :thumbsup2 Has my energy returned? No.. Has my appetite returned? No.. But a little girl's request has put everything in back into perspective for me..

Earlier this evening, a group of neighbors decided they were going to have a really big campfire tonight - drag out the kareoke machine - and of course, invited me to join them.. At first I wasn't going to go - I was just going to go to bed early because I have been so exhausted and so cold all day long.. But then my DGD came in - and asked if I would please try to go if "Daddy" helped me over there, "Mommy" made coffee for me and put it in a travel mug, and she carried my chair cushions and let me "borrow" her Disney Princess blanket from their travel trailer.. Well - how can a "Grandma" say "no" to that? Made up my mind right then and there that I was going to go - even if I had to crawl over there and lay down on the ground in frontof the campfire - and having "fun" with my family and neighbors was suddenly waaaay more important than going to bed early.. (Heck - whatever time I do get to sleep doesn't matter anyhow because I don't have anywhere I need to be..)

So - I put on 3 pairs of socks, 2 pair of jogging pants, a tee shirt, long sleeve flannel shirt, zip-up hoodie sweatshirt, flannel jacket, and told my DGD to go get "Mommy & Daddy".. The look on her face was worth every ounce of energy it took for me to get ready and I'm so glad I went! :goodvibes I really, really had fun - even took a shot at singing kareoke (poor wildlife probably moved much further up into the mountains due to my "wonderful" singing voice).. Under "normal" circumstances, kareoke is something I never would have done, but again - it was at the request of my DGD and I just couldn't say "no" to doing something with her yet again..

Now I'm sitting here thinking.. It doesn't really matter what the doctor says when she calls on Monday.. Whatever this problem is, worrying about it and being scared is not going to change a single thing.. I can't change the "situation" - but I can change my attitude.. So - I'm going on the "attack".. Push me and I'm going to push right back.. Trying to drag me down? Gonna have to catch me first! Think I'm going to be robbed of having fun? Think again!! I'm putting on the gloves and coming out fighting.. Knock me down and I'm going to get right back up again..

I learned two very important lessons tonight.. Having fun - and getting angry enough to fight back - brings out what little energy I have left - and I'm going to use both of those emotions to my fullest advantage..

I may be wiped out tomorrow, but I had a heck of a time tonight! :goodvibes

"Whatever" is lurking out there - go ahead and take your best shot! I'm ready!! :thumbsup2

Thanks again for the continued thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement.. You're a great bunch here..:grouphug:

Bless you. I've no doubt you will fight whatever this is. I'm so happy you had such a wonderful night.

they say everything happens for a reason, and I am so glad that a pricless memory will come of that simple act created by your Granddaughter asking you to go to the bonfire last nite, so glad that it gave you that spark you needed to start fighting..now you sound like the C.Ann that we have come to know and love on the DIS boards..you give whatever you turn out to have all you have to fight it, and we will be right here alongside you with the prayers, hugs, tears, and inspiration you need to make it thru this..God Bless!

C.Ann, looks like you have a great outlook. Keep up the positive thoughts. I'll be praying for you and your family. :grouphug:

So glad you had fun at the campfire. Anger can be such a powerful force...and in the end, help you do something wonderful for yourself and your DGD.

You hang in there!

Geat to hear that you had such fun with your family and friends, C.Ann! :) And great to hear of your new found strength in this. Will keep the prayers going on our end.

Your post was so POWERFUL....I felt it...it gave me chills and tears in my eyes. You keep fighting and we will fight right along side of you with you!:goodvibes

That is the attitude you need to have. Fight it baby, don't let it get you down. Been there, done that.

I just want to say hang in there! I am doing my own support with my 16yodd who had her gallbladder out on Fri...she is really having a tough time bouncing back.

Thinking good thoughts for tomorrow....

I'm a strong believe in the power of positive thought, and I'm thinking nothing but the best of positive thoughts for you!

Glad you were able to forget your physical pain for a little while. Prayers that you get some answers and help soon.

ATTA Girl!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

So glad to hear the 'positive' mind, spirit, heart and soul update this morn!! :woohoo:

I knew when our C.Ann was out of shock, she would regroup and come out with her fighting gloves on!! Isn't it funny how we will do things for our loving grands we wouldn't do for ourselves? My DGD has a Princess blankie too, so I know how special these warm fuzzies are and the magic they hold. Your little DGD getting hers for you truly pulled at my heart strings and gave me a lump in my throat. Like yours, our grands put a bright spot in each day and definitely have a way of uplifting our spirits.

I hope and pray you continue making these special memories and fight whatever this phase of life may deal you with all your might!! As we know, life is a series of stepping stones....how we handle them is what makes a difference. With the help and love of family, friends in RL and internet circle, you are not alone. The power of prayer, love and friendship is amazing and whatever lies ahead, you can count on us fighting it together. Godspeed ^i^

{{hugs}} to your little DGD! :flower3:

Finding this post today.. just want to say will keep you in prayers for strength and courage to face your journey.. God is an awsome God lean on Him... C.ANN glad to read your update on your spirit.. Fight hard fight long and be still in knowing you are not alone
God bless,
Tammy:grouphug:
