"Based on some online Disney Surveys that have been going out, It looks like Disney Co. is considering adding a $150 per person per day unlimited fast pass option upcharge. This would allow the customer to pay and have the ability to take as many fastpasses without restrictions I believe."

i just read this on miceage, what do you guys think?? i think it is a little steep. i personally dont think it is worth it, even if they added fast passes to Nemo, and TSMM. what are your guys thoughts on it??

I could tell you what I think about info from micechat. But I just will say I wouldn't pay.

The thread continued to say that the same survey had some other unlikely ideas, like an after 3 PM ticket (Disneyland gets very busy at night now so that might not be a great idea to offer to every visitor every day) or having tickets for admission that didn't include rides. My favorite strange idea was $1500 (presumably up-front) for a 5-day park hopper every year for ten years. (And people thought paying $300+ up-front for an annual pass was steep!) And another thread mentioned the same kind of unusual options, too.

So I'm not at all worried about this, even though it's technically not impossible. Judging from the other ideas mentioned, I don't think this one is very likely.

If it were $150 in addition to park admission, just for FPs for the rides that already have it, I don't think it would have much of an effect on lines, so I don't think it would matter much. If it were a $150 "head of every line" pass, that might leave a bad taste in my mouth because I don't like the thought of someone who paid more being able to consistently get ahead of me everywhere. (I don't mind people who spend more getting some special treatment, like people getting World of Color dining tickets, but having the run of the park might bother me. I'm not sure.)

Anyway, if it's--as most people understand it to be--just an unlimited Fastpass I don't really care if it were implemented, though I don't think it will be, and if it were, I don't think it would cause any problems. :confused3

I wouldn't be happy if they did this....right now everyone is on an equal playing field.....to me this would cheapen Disney to the other theme parks......Don't Do It Disney!! ;)

I would do it, it would turn me into a fastpass dealer, i would sell fastpasses on the side to recoup my 150.00 and then some......;).........popcorn::

Wow...$150 per day?! That's insane. I'm not sure anyone would be willing to pay that much for FPs. Maybe for a year or something. It's probably just a rumor anyway...

Actually. I don't know if they still have it, but they did do this on a trial I know last summer at Disneyland Paris.

You could buy from the Disneyland Hotel front desk something that was like $100 for unlimited fast passes for 1 day. Problem there is that the rides with fast passes are few and aren't very good rides.

In California, it would actually be worthwhile.

I'd buy it! Especially for a short trip to Disneyland, to have this one day.

Sometimes the parks are so slow that fastpasses are not really faster, and most rides don't have fastpass lines at all... Now if they had a $150/person/day for a "Enter From the Exit" pass. then I'd be all over that! :thumbsup2

If this happened based on our 4 days passes for 2 ppl that would be an extra $300 a day hence another $1200 on top of the price for the passes. That isnt very affordable!!! If they added $150 to the cost to the pass and have unlimited for the entire duration of the passes then would be more affordable.

Great way to make some people feel more entitled than others to magic at the parks. I like the way it is now... we're all even. No one is more special than the other.

They already offer this at Disneyland Paris - it used to be exclusive to the more expensive hotel rooms as an additional perk but they recently starting making them available at a similarly expensive cost.

To be honest I don't think they make much of a difference as they're far too expensive for your average family ($600 per day for a 2+2 family :scared1:)

Ehh...too high. The old AAA vacations used to have unlimited fastpasses included in the basic deal.. was pretty bummed when that went away. :(

Seconded. It would create a class system at this wonderful, happy place ... making it less wonderful and happy. I think it's a bad idea. Moreover, I wouldn't pay anything even close to what they're (allegedly) asking for unlimited FPs. I *might* pay that for front-of-line for every ride in the park. But this would really annoy the non-payers, no doubt.

In short, I vote against it.

For those who have not been around the forums very long, every year or so a thread like this starts up based on a rumor of some kind. A year or two ago it was based on patents Disney took out on different FP schemes. They never implemented them - they still might I guess. Some of the schemes were related to Disney charging for FP access. Personally I strongly doubt we will see this at the American resorts ever.

I do not know the whole history of DLR Paris and FP, but when I was there in 2007 they had in place a different policy than the other resorts. DLR, WDW and TDR all use the same policy with one-hour FP windows and no enforcement of return times. Plus they use FP liberally and have lots of good rides.

DLR Paris used a 30 minute window which was strictly enforced. Plus they just do not have as many good rides as the other three resorts. So they have been doing their own thing with FP for a number of years now.

To the rumor in the OP, who knows? But I seriously doubt it. :cool2:

I agree with Hydroguy that this is incredibly unlikely. I have to say that if you know how to work FP well, this wouldn't even be that great of an option, especially at slower times.

I would not pay that for a per day fast pass add on, but may consider it if it covered the entire time we were there...but in my opinion it is already expensive enough.
