$150 spending money @ Disney.co.uk

Hi
Just compared prices for our planned dates and WDW is still £40 more expensive than CO even with Quidco and $150.
Will prob book with WDW tho for more peace of mind! Think its worth £40.

Planning on 16 nights OKW
3 nights Hard Rock Hotel
4 nights Bahamas cruise

Can't decide whether to book now or wait to be more flexible with flight dates.
I presume its generally better to avoid travelling at weekends as flights more expensive or does it not always follow this?

Monday thru Thurs are generally best days to fly for cheaper fares but offers can be on any day. We tend to fly Thurs but last year best fare was Wednesday, this year Friday.

We're debating whether to cancel our January trip with CO and re-book with Disney, if we cancel we will loose the £297 deposit we have paid (flight and hotel) but can re-book for the same price with disney plus get the $150 gift card and quidco cash back? I just hate to throw away the £297 we have paid even though we don't actually loose any money!! :confused3

If we cancel and re-book we will add another night on so wont be saving anything! lol :goodvibes

Well, I have emailed Disney to say I feel misled by their offer ending in July and now, not only not ending but also being enhanced, so I will let you know what the outcome is! :thumbsup2

Has anyone done a dummy booking with VH and seen the giftcard on there anywhere as I could not see it on my dummy booking for Oct? :confused3

Just tried a Dummy booking, no mention of the $150 credit of free DDP, plus it gives me a whopping £8371.95 without car :rotfl2: I am wanting to pay £5k including car.

Yep - 14 for 7 Ultimate and Dining Plan (paid ugrade from QSDP)

Can't see that I have deviated anywhere - perhaps there is just nowhere for it to show, but just wondered if anyone has seen it on a VH booking?

Disney have replied to advise that their offer of the giftcard didn't commence until the 1st September whereas VH are including it from the 25 august. They have confirmed that they are unable to give us the giftcard as we booked ours on the 30 august.

I think in future I will either book last minute before an offer expires or just book with CO instead.

I have always left it while last minute, maybe I will miss out one year but its always worked out in past years. I prefer to book my flights first if poss then hotel.

Just had another email from Disney, I think they need to check their emails before sending them, this one now says 2 snack credits per day which is wrong.

:rotfl2: I know I've just had the e-mail. They need to be careful because when you click for further information it then shows that there is only 1 snack credit and the T's and C's still show the gift card is for flight inclusive travel.

You thought that Disney could get their marketing right :sad2:

I thouight the error was interesting in that I when I saw it I wondered whther they would honour it ! Disney are great at many things but experience suggests that anything web or emailed based is a struggle, not sure why, its not like this technology is new.

Can you use the gift card to buy food on counter service?

Full details here, looks like you can spend anywhere credit cards are accepted.

The Disney Gift Card can be used to purchase Theme Park admission tickets and annual passes. It may also be used at Disney owned and operated merchandise, dining and recreation locations where credit cards are currently accepted. Some carts, and other outdoor Merchandise vendors may not be able to accept the gift card.

Good sale incentive but I am sure they have combined the $150 FREE money in there quotes.Especially VH.Cannot believe their quote compared to Disney direct. Why do they charge so much for the same holiday:confused3

I am very sceptical about these deals but the $150 is extra to what was on offer before 1st Sept, CO were about £100 cheaper than Disney.co.uk but the new ofer makes them £10 cheaper than CO for our package. It also brings next years price down to same as this years for us, I don't ever remember a year where Disney have not increased prices year on year.
I think they are realising they have hit a ceiling for the current economic climate.
