Day 5: JFK meets with the secretary of defense, Robert McNamara, and the members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff before leaving on a scheduled campaign trip to Ohio and Illinois.
Day 5: Rats! The world did not stop turning so I could just focus on losing weight...I still have to take care of my family and job responsibilities. So, how do I do this when I'm so tired at the end of the day?
1) Don't be so tired at the end of the day! Go to bed at a decent hour. Last night I went to bed a half hour early. It's not much, but hopefully more rest is better.
2) Scheduling. My workout is on my calendar. Every time I work out I get to put a star on my calendar. I want those stars!
3) Do it Now Principle! The minute I get home, I head upstairs to change into my workout clothes. Do not pass go, do not open mail, do not feed kitties (that's ds's job anyway, I just feel sorry for them -- why? They can wait half an hour until he gets home!).
Jen -- We have a series of little activities planned to get us in the Disney mood, most taken from the Guide for Kids by Kids. We are having a special Disney dinner (hamburgers and ice cream), watching our favorite Disney movies, and making lists of what can and can't be missed. For me, I'm also looking at the menus at Allearsnet.com. I can get an idea of what's offered at each place we might eat, and kind of have a plan in my mind so I'm not thrown off track by something I've never heard of and must try. I can plan my meals for the day somewhat in advance, so hopefully I won't overeat too much over the course of an entire day. I envy you -- I'm sure we'll be buried in real snow at Christmastime.
Linda -- Have a fabulous time at the World! We are going to miss you again! We are definitely going to do this -- half portions here we come! And check in early next week so we know what a fantastic time you had!
Ashjohnson -- Welcome! This is a great place for encouragement.
Debra -- Let me tell you about the fundraising costs in parochial school...it is one endless fundraiser from August to June, and we end up with clutter. I just give it away. I don't want 2 cases of candy bars in my house. Last year we gave them to our women's shelter, and that was a good use of them. I'd rather pay for them and not see them on my hips! My advice, buy the gift wrap -- at least it's more useful than any of the little trinkets, and the candy is just asking for trouble...
Tara -- Woohoo! Congratulations on your progress in the bridesmaids dress! You are so going to do it! I am really proud of you.
Kathy -- So glad you're feeling better. Just keep drinking and don't try too much too soon. You are recovering, after all.
Lisa -- You go, girl! Great loss! You are doing fantastic. I wear a pedometer when I can, and it is a great motivator. When I see I just need a few more steps to hit a target, I will go for it, and I know you will too!
Once again, had a little incident with peanut M&Ms this afternoon. Oh well, more reason to get myself on the treadmill... I think I'm just packing too little in my lunch. 5 pts doesn't seem to satisfy me, and then I eat something I shouldn't. Tomorrow, more protein is going in the lunch box.
C'ya later!
