Jen....you are not STUCK in the 170's...you're merely giving them a chance to get to know you better...they haven't seen you in a while and got kind of jealous of the 180's...but girl, they're pretty relenting...so maybe a week or two more and they'll be saying..Thanks Jen for stopping by, Hope you have fun meeting the 160's!!! But don't neglect those cheers coming from the 150's crowd...they're SOOO Excited about you coming their way!!! You're doing GREAT!!!! And WOOHOO on the Disney band trip! What a wonderful way to KNOW that for that trip you'll be at GOAL!!! :)

I did crappily today..I had my slimfast...a good ham/swiss sandwich on wheat with a single serving of Pringles...should have skipped it..but then I had 3 chocolate chip cookies and a single serving of pasta/meatballs for dinner..I had planned on slimfasting but the kids got the rest of my milk eek! :) So tomorrow, it'll be a run to the grocery and it's 5:47..no more food for me tonight..oh did I mention I had a sugar cookie, too? EEK! All the cookies are gone..thanks to me..and tomorrow I can make that salad happen! :)

Debra...I think the best Christmas present I could give myself would be to weigh 160 something!!! So count me in on the Presenting me a Present Challenge! :) By next week, I'll pinpoint an exact number to hit..that always helps me hit my goals better.

Talk to you guys soon!
Tara

I just can't seem to get in the right frame of mind right now. It seems that I start the day of well, but by dinner, I am eating everything in sight. I also just don't seem to have the energy to get up and exercise anymore either.
I think for the rest of this week, I will focus on eating right and not snacking before or after dinner. Then next week I will try and added back in my exercise.

These past couple of months have just flown by and I haven't done what I need to to lose any weight, the good news is that I haven't gained any either.

Debra- you look great!!

Regina

Hi

Still Alive - still going nuts......no time for anything.......hoping to return to my life this weekend......Miss you all.

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Regina: Maintaining is a good thing. It shows you know what to eat not to gain any more. Now you just need to cut back a little each day so you can start seeing those loses.

Linda: Boy you are a BUSY girl! It is hard to keep on a good eating program when your days are hectic, but you can do it!

Tara: I know you are starting your day out good, but you need a plan for the rest of your day. Have you stocked up on some healthy foods to have around? I know you can do it. Slimfast would never work for me. I need solid food in my stomach to keep those hunger pains away. That is why I use the cereal bowl of carrots every afternoon to fill up that empty spot. Maybe you should look into another food plan if the slimfast isn't working for you. My philosophy is to not waste calories on liquids. There are too many calorie free great tasting drinks out there and I prefer to use my calories on solid food. Have you tried doing the 1200 calories a day with only using 0 calorie liquids? It may work better for you. Just a thought.

Maria: How are you doing? LOST is a rerun tonight! I have another show that I watch at the same time (but I usually tape it and watch it later). I am watching Related on the WB. It is about 4 sisters and their lives. Nothing like LOST, but I still enjoy it.

Jen: I wish I had all of your energy! I know you can get to the weight you want to be. You are so active. Once the food plan falls into place for you, the weight will start dropping off.

Haley: Did the fruits and veggies work for you yesterday? Are you past the State Fair goodies and on to healthy foods now? It is hard when you have had a lot of 'good' stuff for a few days to go back to the healthy eating, but I know you can do it! Make a plan, and stick to it. You have the right foods now. You can do it!

Well I had a happy day today :cool1: . I am back to where I was BEFORE our weekend trip. I do hate losing weight that I already lost, but I knew that would happen. So now I am working on losing more of the old weight! I am hoping that by Jan. 1st I am at my goal weight (that will be 1 year exactly from when I started my journey). I had hoped for Thanksgiving, but my losing has slowed down, and with the holidays coming up I know I won't be losing at the steady rate that I was before.

Hope everyone has a good Hump Day! Let's get into a good eating pattern that will take us through the weekend! I really REALLY want to make it through Halloween without gaining. I was going to allow myself to pig out on that night, but NOW my plan is to have 1 candy bar at 9:00 pm and then go get ready for bed and brush my teeth, and that will be it for the candy. If I can do that, I will be happy.

Talk with you all later!
Debra

Hey Losers!!!

Tara - Thanks for the PM and I'm sorry that I haven't visited you guys as much.

For those of you who don't know me (or remember me), I joined this thread the end of January at a weight of 175. I had already lost 33 pounds with WW and couldn't wait to get into the 150's. I am currently down 67.4 pounds and at a current weight of 140.6 pounds. I can't believe those 130's are only a pound away and can't wait.

For those who are just joining us or still fighting the cause... don't give up. It's a struggle for all of us, but try and remember how badly you want it. I tried to remember that I didn't "gain" all this weight in one day, one month or even in one year, so it's going to take time.

THINK THIN!!!

Well, the scales have not moved for me this past week & a half! :guilty:
I have been pretty good, although I do admit I fell off the bandwagon today with about a 1/3 a cup of mashed potatoes! Last week I ate a homemade pretzel, it was huge & I divided it up into 3 sections & had one piece per day. Not good for the low carb thing!
I need some motivation! :cheer2:
Linda & Jen--2 busy girls! the weight is going to come off & soon!
Regina- good plan! that is how I am focusing now. We will not lose steam! :sunny:
Debra--munched on carrots last night & thought of you & all your support :grouphug: You look terrific!
Tara--get ready for your 160 Christmas present! :goodvibes
Tera--yeah to the 130's :cheer2: i have a leg that weighs that much!
Haley--yeah for fruits & veggies!

Teresa! I am so glad you checked in! You are doing great! You will see those 130s very soon! Isn't it exciting when you are about to move to a new number. The first time you see if feels SO good!

It does take a lot of time to lose the weight, but it is SO worth it!

Everyone, stay with it! Post your plans here, let us know how you are doing! We are here for each other. We can all make it to our goals!

Jean,
From what you posted, it doesn't sound like you did bad. Are you counting calories? or WW Points?

You could always start posting your daily food intake with amounts (like some others are doing) and maybe we can give you some ideas.

I think calories is the easiest way to count, but WW points work great too.

It really does help to write it all out and then you can see what is happening. If we don't track our food, it is easy to think we didn't eat as much as we actually did.

Debra

Today was an OK food day. I am giving the 70's a great chance to know me.

B: eggy with turkey, banana and milk (6)
L: baked potato (1)
S: banana and PB sandwich (6)
D: Ham, several bites of cheesey potatoes, a roll and soup. 2 Juicies.

There were no salads, or anything. How do you think I did?

Cheerleading today!!! About 30 minutes worth. And the band dance.

I just need the icky weather to be over with!!

Doing my best, where I am, with what I have.

I'm coming! I'm coming!! I'm going to be there soon! I may arrived dazed, confused and a little out of breath (start every day runnin'!) but I'll be there!

Wow. I just had a thought.

I WANT TO EXERCISE. I WANT TO DO THIS THING RIGHT TOMORROW...and the next day...and the next day...and the next day!

Did somebody slip something in those cheesey potatoes?? I had a bite of every variety known to man!

Plus, I want to drink my water!

Who is making me think healthful thoughts?? Next thing you know, I'm going to beg to clean my room!!

(I think it's me though :teeth: )

Jen - I like your enthusiasm (sp?). Keep up the losing thought and you will slip into the 160's before you know it. Maybe you can have your friend exercise with you when she moves back. It is better to have an exercise partner to keep your motivation up.

I must confess - I let my weight sneak back up to 171. It is probably all the candy I have been eating lately combined with the lack of water. The inner stess monster made me buy 2 bags of Take 5 candy bars today. They were on sale for only $.99. Buying them wasn't the worse part, I went back to the office and consumed about half of one bag. The other bag I brought home and don't plan on opening it until I am back in the 160's. I am better about not eating candy at home than I am at work.

Work has been very hectic. I had 40 hours in before starting work today. I figure if I can keep up my current pace, I will be able to see my desk by Thanksgiving. I haven't taken a day off since returning from WDW on Oct 11. I was able to pass some of my payroll reports off to the secretary to free me up to continue getting the information together for the auditors.

I have been following the Marathoning for Mortals plan for walking a half marathon. I force myself (I always feel more invigorated after) to complete all the walking days.:cheer2: :cheer2: I haven't managed to consistently do the cross training days yet. Need to work on getting them scheduled.

Go to PT 3 days per week. My arm has almost full range of motion now. We have started to add some very easy strengthening exercises in to the session also. For once in my life, I am following the doctors orders and taking things slow and not attempting to do too much too soon. I don't want to mess up what he fixed.

I have found an exercise buddy in my area. She had posted on the SELF.com buddy thread and I emailed her. She only lives a few miles from me. It will hopefully make going out and exercising easier.

Need to get some work done.

Have a great day everyone. Keep thinking losing thoughts. Exercise and drink lots of water.

Hey guys!!!

Well, no more homemade bread around here.....atleast for 10 days. Guys, nothing is soo good as homemade bread out of the oven! AAGH! Debra...you are sooo right...I really need to stick to 1200 calories and let that be it...slimfast does work for me, but lately I've just loved eating too much. But today wasn't so bad...here's what ended up really happening...still no grocery run (thank you GOD for my dear friend who called me tonight and asked if she could pick something up for me because she knew it's been rough without dh for 2 weeks!) so she got me some milk...but before I had it I had one slice wheat toast with a pat of butter and a small orange juice, snack was 2 slices of apple, lunch was 6 chicken nuggets and scarfed 5 fries from my kids, snack was 2 slices of homemade bread...dinner was sirloin pattie with carrots...I did have 1/2 a chocolate chips ahoy cookie...so not so bad...but it would have been better without the bread this afternoon. And need more veggies! :)

Kathy!!! WAHOO to you for finding an exercise buddy! I've missed walking with my buddies these last 2 weeks while dh is out of town...will get back strong with it next week! Let us know what you and your buddy do to get ready for that marathon!!!

Tera!!! :cheer2: WOW!! You are CRUISING on down to the 130's!!! Are you feeling close to goal? Share share share how you're doing it! I know it's pretty much eating less and moving more but would love your typical day's menu...you've shared it before but my mind has put that out and put junk food in so I need some corrections! :) I know you're soo happy being done with those 35 pounds this year!!! CONGRATS!!!

Jen!!! You are a true trooper....I won't let you down..I'm coming down there to the 170's and I'm taking you with me to the 160's!!! Let's get that number and love the changes!! :)

Jean...Let's get you motivated!!! Each pound gone is equivalent to 4 sticks of butter!!! So just imagine even if you lose one pound this next week, that's a chunk of space taken off your body!!! I'm shooting for 1-2 pounds a week and know it's going to take discipline with my eating and consistent exercise! How's your exercise going? If you did 2 days last week, up it this week...try to do a bit more than the week before, it always adds up! :) A motivator to me is wearing my tightest jeans for a day...boy, that will make you think twice before eating a no-no! :)

I'm feeling good about losing this week and know that I can stick to it! :) Let's do it! I can't wait to see the scale on Monday....I know I'll be less than this week! :) We can do this gang!!! Look at Tera!!! She's our first 150'er and she's about to leave the 140's!! We can't leave her all by herself! :)

Tara

:rotfl2: DD1 has been baking and baking the last two days because we offered to bring goodies for DD2's orchestra concert (don't mistake this for sisterly love--it is purely because she is into this baking kick). Well I have been able to 'resist' these items because I would tell myself we had to make sure there was plenty for everyone at the concert (wouldn't want to run out).

Well last night, I couldn't go to the concert because I had to attend the parent's meeting for DD1's basketball team (and DH isn't good at getting detailed information). So I sent the goodies with DH knowing that my friend who was also bringing goodies would help him set them up.

THEN when they came home, I confess, I was secretly thinking about which of the leftovers I would have........Well DH and DD2 walk in the house and I asked if there was plenty of baked goods. They said yes, there was a lot. So I asked what was left over (mouth starting to water now). THEN DH says BEAMINGLY.....Well, there are no left overs. We took them to the teachers lounge and left everything for the teachers to have in the morning!! :faint:

I realize that this was a VERY GOOD thing. But my heart sunk! Of course, my voice said, "Oh, that was a great idea, Honey!"

OK, he saved me from myself. But I thought it was so funny and you guys are the only ones I can tell this to. He has no idea I was sitting at home just waiting for those leftovers! :rotfl2:

Gotta Run!
Hope everyone is having a good day!
Debra

Debra!!! :cool1: Our plan is working...your family is giving you the extra discipline you need at a weak moment and ultimately those teachers who eat those goodies will start to look a wee bit plumper which will make you look a wee bit slimmer! :) :rotfl: Sorry, I had to go there! :)

Good efforts on my part today...had a good breakfast, healthy snack and I walked 4 miles while my kids were in art class! :) Then I cooked pork/red peppers/rice and corn for dinner and stuck to one serving! I also had about 20 semi-sweet chocolate chips and only water today! YEAH! It felt good to have a healthy day with good portions in there! :)

Gang, good weekend coming up...let's make some good fall veggies!
Tara

Today was a much better day food wise. I had 4 eggo cinnamon toast waffles for breakfast, a chix ceasar salad for lunch, ham and rice for supper. My only downfall was finishing the bag of snack size Take 5 candy bars. They are gone and cannot tempt me any more. Also managed about 80 oz of water. Resisted having usual diet pepsi for lunch. Did have a Diet pepsi with supper.

Exercise was 40 min on the treadmill. Also at PT I did 30 lat pulldowns @ 60#, 30 chest presses @ 20#, 30 rows @ 30#, and 30 bicep curls using 3 lb weights.

Debra - glad your family was looking out for you and keeping the cupcakes out of temptations reach. I wish someone had done that with the candy bars.

Tara- great job with the eating. Did your 4 mile walk feel envigorating? I used the treadmill for 2 reasons. It was dark by the time I got home, and it was only 40 degrees.

We finally got a day with no rain. The high for today was only 45. It is supposed to get up to the low 60's with sun on Monday. Great timing for Trick or Treating. I think I will go to the gym as I get tired of answering the door. The subdivision where we live is a favorite spot for people to visit. I don't mind the neighborhood kids but I get tired of all the people who come from other places. I am a scrooge but spending a couple of hours at the gym can be beneficial also.

Jen - how did your day go? Did you get to exercise at some point during you already full schedule? Keep up the good work and you will be into the 160's in no time.

Let's keep losing. Exercise and drink lots of water.

:wave2: Hi Losers!
Thanks for the advice Debra! Wow! 4 miles Tara! :Pinkbounc
NYcpa-yes the temptation of a great sale & food, I hear you! So good to hear your arm is coming back. Love that you found an exercise buddy!
Wow, Jen! just act on those GREAT thoughts! super energy, super thoughts! gotta love it! :cheer2:
Well, am back on track today. I do low carb mostly, but do pay attention to calories.
thus far today:
1. water, water & more water--my goal is 64-84 oz per day & am good with this
2. coffee x 6 -- half-caff w/Splenda
3. huge salad S&P & lo-cal bleu cheese dressing>brunch
4. salad, diet Pepsi free,steak & grilled veggies>dinner

am feeling peckish now so will have a diet Pepsi (caff free) & some puffed rice (dry)

Did 15 minutes on the stair & 15 minutes free weights--ugh! I put the TV on & still find exercising tedious!
On the other hand, when out shopping, I grab a cart & walk pretty fast. Having the cart keeps the back pain minimal & the lust for merchandise spurs me onward!
I have thought of getting a walker & pushing it around the mall, but I just can't bring myself to do it. what if someone I know sees me? it's not as if I'm recuperating or disabled. perhaps I'll do it at WDW, chances are no one will recognize me there! famous last words! :teeth:
Has anyone been reading the SWA thread on seating for 'Pooh sized' people?
I am very nervous on that account. Although I do not need an extension, it's a close thing, & I will positively drop dead if I have to buy another ticket, refund or no. that thought alone kept me exercising this AM!
:earboy2:

Jean

Jean, it sounds like you had a great day! Good for you! :cool1:

As you keep doing this over and over it will become easier. It takes about 3 weeks for something to become a habit. Just keep going! You can do it!

I see in your sig line you are going to Hilton Head. Are you a DVC member? We have only been to HH once, but we really liked it there. We have been to Vero Beach Resort twice and enjoyed that too.

I have really been munching the carrots today. I have been extra hungry. I did go to campus today for lunch with my DD. She has to walk to the student center after school when they have away basketball games and buy dinner at the food court and take to a reserved room. I wanted to walk her through the process. I am not that comfortable with letting her do this, and haven't quite decided how to handle it. I may be coming and walking her there myself, but we will see. I'm a helicopter mom, and proud of it. A lot of how comfortable I am depends on how comfortable she is about things. So we have to just work through this.

Anyway, it was fun having lunch on campus. DH met us. DD's school had a 1/2 day for the middle school (this is a Lab school that is K-12 grades). There were a lot of 7th graders having lunch together at the student center too. I guess this is the 'thing' to do. We didn't see any other 6th graders there, so I am guessing there is a big jump in independence between 6th and 7th grades. It would be a lot of fun (if I were a kid) to have a place like this to go and hang out with friends after school (it is just 2 buildings over from the school and there is a sidewalk that leads over to it).

So I am not sure of my calories today since I ate out, but I think I did pretty good.

My inlaws are coming for Thanksgiving, so I am hoping to 'WOW' them when they see me (they haven't seen me since July). That is motivating me to stay good.

Onward and Downward everyone!
Debra

Hi Debra & All!

Yes, we are new DVCers. We plan a week at HH then some Williamsburg, Jamestown,Yorktown Busch gardens things-

DS16, then between 4th & 5th grade, went to summer school at Texas Women's University. I was a 'traffic' Mom & it was wonderful helping out. They do seem to get on just fine after a few days. Patrick had to change buildings 4 times a day & I remember being soooo nervous (part of the reason I volunteered! ;) ).
You'll have one of those "aha" moments when yr DD finds a group of friends & sees her way around with confidence! :goodvibes
This summer DS16 studied Civil War & Reconstruction at Layfayette College in PA
Ask this fattie how great their cafeteria is! & well priced!
This was DS' last year in the program(cut off age is 17) & it was 3 weeks in a dorm! :scared:
the 1st year he was trepidatious, but adapted; 2nd year it was nice to have us settle him in, he phoned home regularly & this year we had to be careful the door didn't smack our backsides, & were those glasses tinkling in the background of our few phone conversations???! :rotfl2:

The whole SWA thing is enough to keep me legit at this moment. :guilty:
Last night, amidst the binge, I almost posted here, but it's hard to type with my chubby little hands full!

Thanks for all the support!

Jean

I am still plugging away at getting my eating under control, but overall I am doing better. Next week I will added back in the exercise, and this should also help with my eating as I find I make better choices when I am exercising.

I went to the Dr. on Weds. because I have been having severe headaches, and not sleeping well the past couple of weeks, she said they're migraines and perscribed Imitrex for them. Overall, I feel much better and I am sleeping better. Hopefully, this works and I stay feeling better. She also had some blood work done to test my blood sugar levels, and other stuff. Hopefully everthing comes back normal
