Good morning!
I'm sorry if that last email sounded crazy, but you know how it is when your nervous! I know this is a weight loss thread, but I have to tell you this story.
I was hired two years ago at the Long Grove school the day before meet your teacher day. (Meaning, I was hired about 7:30am in the morning and had to have a classroom prepared and be ready to meet the staff, parents, and kids within 24 hours!) Yeah, I thought I was going to pass out from my huge to do list! However, two of my awesome teammates set up my entire classroom (i.e. books, desks, bulletin boards, etc.) while I was filling out the paperwork, etc. It was a wild start to the year, but turned out great!
That same year, my best friend had a not so great job and it did a real number on her self-esteem. She decided not to go back to that place. In talking with her, she knew how much I loved my school and asked if there were any openings. I talked to my mentor first about having your best friend at your school. I love my best friend to pieces, but wasn't sure we could be together all day and still be friends at night - too much togetherness! My mentor said she thought it would work out so I called my boss. I told him about my friend and, honestly, he hired her over the phone when I was talking to him! (If I ever go into another field...maybe it should be sales!) So, my best friend was hired to be an aide at my school.
I met another girl at my school two years ago, as well, and we've become great friends, too. Actually, all three of us get along really well and our principal calls us "Triple Trouble" (as a joke, of course...we are probably some of the most straight-laced people you will meet!)
So, that is the story of how my best friend got a job and my (now our) school.

I do remember one day when I was really upset about something that a parent had said to me. I saw the woman that worked with my best friend and she asked if I wanted to talk. I told her I just wanted to talk with my best friend. So we went into another room and (being my best friend) she knew exactly what to say and I felt better in less than a minute! This other woman was in shock at how I recovered so fast and wanted to know my best friend's secret! LOL! I told her it just comes from knowing someone very well for a number of years.
OK, back to your regularly scheduled weight loss thread...
In other cool weight loss news, my mom surprised the heck out of me! Last night she made lasagna and garlic bread. Well, since I went to the nutritionist, I switched over to a "better" margarine and she made me a few pieces of garlic bread with my margarine! My mom knows how much I struggle, but that was one of the coolest things she has ever done for me! So kudos to my own mom!
Debra - You are so right! True friendships never end! I'm glad you are going to write to your best friend!
Maria - I love Target, too! And, now, with those $1 bins...oh...it is so over! I could buy the whole store! I agree with you on the 5th graders!
Tara - Sorry I was to into myself before to read that you got an offer! Awesome! I have a friend who is looking for a house with her fiancee right now. I feel the excitement and the stress for you! Ah, yes I'm relaxing the last few days here before heading back. I'm excited and not - the only reason I'm not excited is exactly what you said...I'm going to be so busy that first week! Other than that, I feel very calm about everything and am ready to get to meet and know these kids!

Oh, and thank you for your wonderful comments! You make me blush!
Linda - So jealous that you are going to Disney! Good for you!
Kathy - Oh, I hope you will be feeling better soon! I had surgery on my ankle in high school and it was amazing how many things I could and could not do! And I got very, very sick on the pain medication so take your time to rest and relax the best that you can!
Tiger - Thanks for the cheer!
I hope I didn't miss anyone! I will keep you posted on the job market for my friend...if nothing else, she has a position secured again as an aide at my school.
Have an awesome day 1 of your 13 day challenge!
Lisa
