UGH! Hi all.

It so great to see how supportive you all are and I really feel like I need it today! TOM came on Sunday and today was my weigh in day. I did not lose or gain, just stayed exactly the same. I posted a few days ago about whether or not I should weigh this week and all the replies told me I should, so I did and now I am feeling so down-could also be the hormones! I know I am severly bloated (had to take my wedding ring off due to swelling) and the 100 degree days here don't help. Still, I was so good last week! Drank all of my water-even an extra 32oz a day on top of it. Did not dip into any of my WW flex points or anything. I can only hope it pays off with the whoosh fairy next week. Still, I am feeling down today. I was losing a steady 2 pounds a week for the last 2 weeks up until now.

Linda- I don't know how you do it. Your poor daughter! Her ex reminds me of the nightmares I went out with in high school! Treated me awful but I only thought about the good times! :sad2: I hope things calm down a little (ok alot!) for you so you can take some time for yourself soon. Being a mom is so tough-we lose ourselves sometimes don't we?

:sunny: Hello-
may I join yr club? I have lost 54# in one year low carbing but still have a looong way to go to reach 150. I loose weight very slowly & have been plateauing for 3 weeks now. I plan to join Curves tomorrow--they have a 1/2 price sale going on.
I have struggled with my weight all my life, chubby child, chubby teen--enjoyed slimness for 15 yrs--fasting! :sad2: --then 'blossomed' while on ordered bedrest while pg w/DS16--guess you could say I am trying to lose Baby Weight! :rotfl2:
I do have a better attitude, but this plateau has really got me down in the dumps
DH is set on going to the UK & France next yr, but I really don't want to go as a fat American & am seriously thinking of not going. DH is fit & has no idea the things people say to the obese even in our own country. He has to go in April/May '06 as that is his sabbactical allowance. This UK/France thing is really freaking me out!
I try to keep imagining going kayaking & hiking with my family--all fit men! I can tell the difference in my stamina just from losing the 50 plus, but I still huff & puff...I think of all the fashions out there--not just tentish blouses & sails size undies!

Jean

Hi Jean! Welcome to the 150 club!

I also have a very fit hubby and can totally imagine trying to keep up with him and my 2 sons (they are only 6 and 9 now but both have their daddy's metabolism) kayaking and hiking-not fun. BUT..you have time to lose plenty more and that is what we are here for! This club is great! Very supportive and you will find everyone here is great for motivating. You have a great goal to work towards and it would be a shame for you to miss out on a wonderful trip like that because of your weight.

Are you doing any specific eating program? I am doing WW, alot of people do low carb variations etc. I also joined the Weight Watchers club and the June exercise challenge as well as the 5 for June challenge to keep me motivated and working towards something. That really helps keep me accountable to someone because I am doing WW online, so no meetings. I know you can do it and you will get to shop for all new vacation clothes too!! Welcome again!!

Carrieberry-I know how you feel. TOM pulled a fast one on me today and now he's here for the week!

Jean-Welcome! Nice to have someone who wants to be another 150er!!!!! Good luck!

Tigercheer!!! I have an idea for summer snackies...I have tried MORE foods since trying lots of different eating approaches that I never would have tried...I think my diet consisted of cereal for breakfast, sandwich and chips for lunch and a meat and two veggies for dinner and of course a side of macc/cheese! :) But by experimenting with my snack foods I actually do crave better foods when I'm in that losing mode...for instance, when I up my activity level a 1/2 cup of raspberries sounds so much better than a mini bag of Cheetos (and those are soooo tempting to me!!!) Here are some more munchies that I have to remind myself to buy...especially during the summer when it's all FRESH!!!

plums, peaches, raspberries, blueberries, BLACKBERRIES...yum!, watermelon, a cooked artichoke dipped in butter...fresh spinach salad with strawberries and almonds with raspberry vinegarette and blue cheese on top, kiwi, fresh mango, something fun to do is buy 5 different varieties of apples and have a hidden taste test to pick the best...we love Pink Ladies! Pepperoni slices, mozzarella sticks, deviled eggs, trying to keep it fresh is key!!! Now I'm really craving fruit!! :)

WELCOME JEAN!!! Yes!! WOW!!! 54 pounds!!! THAT IS AWESOME!!!! :cheer2: And you've got until April to get some more off??? That's a good time frame to lose it safely and healthily! And guess what!! We're planning a trip to the UK that time frame too!!! Maybe we could coordinate and plan on meeting! :) I hope to be in the 150's solidly by then and I know we can get you there, too!!! I really think the first 50 pounds are the hardest...the rest comes off more easily for me with exercise and portion control...since I'm not 246 anymore I can really find the energy to walk several times a week...and once you get into a consistent pattern of moving...your body becomes an efficient machine!!! :) I've had a hard month trying to put it together again...moved and all that unpacking sidetracked me...but there are a bunch of us on here ready to recommit and make this a losing year!!! So WELCOME!!! NO FEAR! Pick out an outfit you'd like to wear to London on the plan ride over and go BUY it!!! :)

Yum-o!!!!!! I love my fresh fruit! I'll have to try the apple taste test. Tara you give me so many good ideas!

I'd love to join also. I have about 40 lbs of Baby fat to lose. The only problem is my Baby is 5 now. I'm open to any ideas. Last year I lost about 20lbs but it is slowly creeping back on. My problem is I hit a plateau after so many lbs weight loss and can seem to budge. I've start this competition at work were you wear a pedometer and we are aiming to walk across Canada. I've recently ordered Slim in 6 anyone ever tried it and how did it work? Thanks Kathy

Fresh Fruit!! YEAH!! :Pinkbounc The only real thing I like about summer is the fresh veggies and fruit. I paid $6 for a watermelon last weekend just cause I wanted one sooooo bad. It was sooooo good!! A little low-fat, sugar free vanilla yogurt with fruit goes a long way towards being a sinful dessert.

Ahhh! Baby fat..let's see I'm still packing 50 pounds from 21 years ago! :rotfl: I let the baby "go away" so you'd think I could let the baby fat away! HA HA!

Tara, sounds like you and your friend have a great set up, every Mommie needs a break some time in their hectic week. :flower:

Guys stick around the support you get from this group will get you through that plateau! :bounce:

Hope you are all having a great afternoon!! :sunny:

Hi there,
Thanks again for the positive support. This time I came back within a week instead of 2 months! Yeah for me. :cool1: I weighed in yesterday and only lost 1 lb. Not sure what the problem was since I was following my program. . . except for the chips and sour cream. Oops! I had bought munchies for friends that were visiting and had to use them, so I finished them off. I hate it when I do that. I have this strange thinking going on. It is like looking at a donut and thinking that I must have it. I keep telling myself that it is not the last donut in the world. There will be another donut. I think years of dieting has made me think that I will never be able to have another ________ (fill in the blank) so I had better eat it now. I need to get past that. Anyway, 1 pound is better than nothing and that brings my total to 11 which is a good start. I don't think I told you what I am doing. I am basically focusing on portion control with a push on fruits and veggies. I eat 1 or 2 salads a day plus fresh veggies with lunch and dinner. I also eat fruit at breakfast and as a snack. For the rest of my meals I eat a variety of things but all at healthy portion sizes. I keep my cereal to the portion they say on the box. I don't fill the bowl anymore. For lunch it is easy because I take my lunch to work every day. I'll have soup, sandwich, or leftovers- plus my salad and veggies. Dinner is my biggest but again it is portion size. I try to use a small plate which makes me think I am eating more. It is working for me right now, so I am happy. Well, I have rambled so much I have to apologize to anyone who has had to read this! Anyway, I hope that you all have a great week. You are all such a blessing!

:flower:

Hello Fellow Losers!!!

Sounds like everyone is still plugging away....

As for me, I only lost .4 at WW today, so I was a little disappointed. I was trying to get my 55 pound clippie today, but guess I'll have to wait until next week. I'm at 154.2, so those 140's are so close.

Everyone is doing a great job and I'm sure we'll be celebrating plenty more 150's soon.

:flower:
Thanks for all the positive support, you all really lifted my spirit! I think it's just what I need. Imhall2000 if I lose the wt I'll see you in the UK, or at least DH & DS16 will. DH is an avid DISer.
Carrieberry, please explain WW online. I belonged to WW in the '70's--a mere chubby babe!-- I presently do Atkins & fear my plateauing is due to Sorbitol intolerance & I can stuff down a couple of overpriced lo-carb ice creams like nobody's business.
I too am fresh fruit crazy, Tiggerkeeper I like slicing up fresh strawberries, sprinkling on some Diet Swiss Miss, topping w/ CoolWhip free. Yummm
TigerCheer2009 what is TOM?
Hello, digskat!
I am going to stop eating all that low carb--but high cal--ice cream & all the low-carb candy.
What I like about losing 50+#:
theatre seats fit!
I can buckle the seat belt in the plane, no problemo!
it's almost comfortable going thru turnstliles, especially @ POTC
Went from size 28 to 18-20

Thank everyone for all the kind words. I'm looking forward to being a bigger loser!

Sthronds-Thanks and I know you can do it!

Evening to all!!

Wow!! Has there been some new activity since 6:30am when I last posted........

Welcome Jean!! So glad you could join are family!! We all have our ups and downs (me more downs lately because of issues with DD17) BUT the important thing is that we stick together no matter what!! :goodvibes I am following WW Core program (well not really lately :rotfl2: ) but do plan on getting back to it.

Tigercheer and Sthronds - Fruit is my Friend!! When the evil snack attacks happen I reach for a piece of fruit and most times it works ;)

Tera - Patience - That clippie isn't going anywhere and you will be wearing it for a very very long time. :Pinkbounc

digskat- Also a HEARTY WELCOME - the more the merrier..........please join the family and make yourself at home. :grouphug:

Tara - What a nice arrangement you have with the other Mom - everyone should have a break from the hectic life!! Hang in there - the weight is going to start melting off.

Off to look at a puppy......DD17 had a decent day and is talking about putting weight back on :bounce: The downside is that she wants to talk to the ex boyfriend not sure why but it is sending shivers up and down my spine and making me crazy

Have a Magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:
Linda

You're doing great, Linda Linda. Good luck with the puppy and let me know if you need any more pixie dust, extra strength or otherwise. Here's a little extra to hoping everything goes well.

Theme song for the 150ers today: Hold On by Good Charlotte

"Hold on...if you feel like letting go
Hold on...it gets better than you know
...
And you’re not sure what you’re looking for but you don’t want to no more
...
Hold on...if you feel like letting go
Hold on...it gets better than you know
Don’t stop looking you’re one step closer
Don’t stop searching it’s not over...hold on
What are you looking for?
What are you waiting for?
Do you know what you’re doing to me?
Go ahead...what are you waiting for?
Hold on...if you feel like letting go
Hold on...it gets better than you know
Don’t stop looking you’re one step closer
Don’t stop searching it’s not over...
Hold on...if you feel like letting go
Hold on...it gets better than you know...hold on"

Have a totally losing Tuesday, WISHerwomen!

Mornin Everyone!! :sunny:

Newest member of the family!! He will be joining us in a couple of days.

Looking for help naming him - We are hoping for something that reminds us of Disney whether it is a character or WDW.

What a GREAT way to start the day!!

Make it a Magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:
Linda

Oh, Linda..........way tooooooo cute!!! I want one. I want one.

Got back a couple days ago from our "two graduations and a bridal shower" trip! Whew!! I'm REALLY TIRED!! :earboy2: We had a great time though. I cried A LOT! Especially at the bridal shower. My niece is the first of all the grandchildren to get married. We all feel very old . I was nineteen when she was born and she was like my first baby. I'm going to be a mess at the wedding. How am I going to sing???

Well, the eating went way off plan, to say the least. I was really discouraged when I got back.

I was thinking maybe I need more structure in my plan. I don't want to cut out any group of foods (like carbs ) but I do need to cut back on the portions and probably some fat. Soooooo.............

I signed up on ediets. Anyone on here ever use them? So far I like it. I signed up for the recipe plan. They tell me what to eat and give me recipes along with a shopping list of everything I need for that week. I don't know how long I will use it, but it is giving me a good start.

Sometimes I will be having something different than the family, which I don't normally like to do. But other times I will just make it for the whole family. Like tonight, it is chicken stir fry.........everyone likes that so I'll make it for everyone.

It makes me have more fruit and veggies, that's for sure. And I'm cutting the fat and sodium (ofcourse, I'm kicking and screaming as I go along with this one ;) ). But I needed to cut that back.

I hope everyone is doing well...............I need to catch up on some reading. See ya later! :wave2:

What are y'alls goals??? Have you figured out the day this year you'll see a new number??? I'm hoping to go to Disney on my birthday and celebrating being in the 150's....it's something to look forward to and if we sell our house in TN we CAN do it!!! :)
Tara

Hi Tara........... :wave2: I definately have some goals. Our next trip to WDW is after Thanksgiving and I want to be under 210. That is a ways away but I think I can do it. THen next May we are going to Destin, FL for one week and WDW for one week. I would love to be under 170 for that trip.

I know you will reach your goal, Tara. It's just a matter of time. :cheer2:

Anyway, I came back from London with a weight loss and have lost some since returning home. I am officially down to 212! (211 according to the doc, but to stay consistent, I am going by my scale). It almost settled on 211.5 and I did see a flicker of 209 and 210, so I know it won't be long. Just a little behind where I wanted to be at this time, but that is ok 'cause this weight is finally coming off.

So glad you had a good time. But that currency thing stinks. I wouldn't want to buy much either except for things I know I couldn't get in this country.

but you came back slimmer!!!! Wooohooooo for you!!! That's great!

And had your trip to WDW come and gone?? I was gone before you went and now I'm here but think you're gone!! :earboy2: heehee I probably need to keep reading so off I go.............. :umbrella:
