So I'm trying to book a car between MCO & Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach to catch a cruise. National is my "go to" site, so I check them first. I have two choices for car class... either a 15 passenger van or a convertible. :confused3

If I change my destination to Ft. Lauderdale, I have all the choices. Returning from Cape Canaveral, for "one way", I have all the choices. Just not from MCO. Grrrr.

ETA: I'm now booked with Dollar, but this just seemed strange so I wanted to post. :P

Have you check National at the Dolphin? Plus you wont have to pay the added airport fee's!

He's not starting from WDW, though. Otherwise the Dolphin or the CCC would be great suggestions.

Sam, did you check to see if Alamo has the same availability? Maybe try calling National? They might only need convertibles and 15 passenger vans at the port when you're going, but have a wider variety needing to get back to MCO.

Just an FYI, check your reservation closely with Dollar/Thrifty, they wanted to charge an $84 drop charged on my one way rentals.

Dollar had the best weekly rate ($72) for our Jan 31 FLL to MCO but the with the drop charge the total rate came to $300 with taxes for our 12 days which was $50 more than Budgets total with a $95 weekly rate (total $248 with taxes)

We also tried a pickup from MIA after our cruise, this one didn't have a drop charge (MIA-MCO), but the weekly rate was $233 before taxes.
You just never know!

It is the same at Alamo. I had the same thought. We still have a couple months (don't leave until June) so I'll keep checking.

Thanks for the tip. There is a "one way" fee of $19.36.
