I've been "lurking" on these boards for a couple of months now, and finally writing a thread... I have a lot to say- Don't say I didn't warn you! We are getting very close to "the big day" and are so excited!
Where/when we met:
DF and I met in Jr. High...and finally got together in High School. We were best friends for a long time, talked on the phone every night and hung out a lot. We started dating when I was 15 and a sophmore in hs. We have been together almost 10 years!
The Proposal
DF and I were on vacation Oct. 2006. We wanted to try to get reservations at the castle before we left for Disney. DF called every day (and so did his mom) until we actually got a reservation. I think that they told the dining reservations people that he was planning on proposing. I was so excited to know that we were going to have dinner in the castle...and I wasn't expecting any more than that. We arrived in Disney on a Tuesday and had dinner on Saturday at 7 or 8. Wouldn't you know that there was a parade so we were almost late for our reservations and the guard at the castle reluctantly let us in! Finally we got there and waited in line to have our picture taken with Cinderella. Mind you DF and I have been together like 8.5 years at this point, so every bride and groom ears that I saw I made a comment. I drove him crazy. We were in line behind a couple that was "dresssed to the nines!" She had on a little black dress and he was in a suit. I felt very under-dressed, however I still mananged to sneak in a comment...something along the lines of "I bet fancy pants couple is going to get engaged." Little did I know that my ring was in his pocket the entire time! After having a pretty good dinner (they put egg in my salad-I hate eggs), and watching the fireworks from a prospective I have never seen before We were having dessert. Might I add, we had the best seat in the place-right by the window! The Fairy Godmother and the mice came out and sang and danced, and of course I didn't have my camera-hooray for camera phones. Not a spectacular picture, but at least I had something to remember this evening. The Fairy Godmother asked "if anyone had anything special that they wanted to celebrate?" I think I said "I wish that we had something to celebrate!" Little did I know that DF raised his hand and placed the ring on the table with the box opened. I was staring at the most beautiful ring that I had ever seen. I was not expecting it at all...I said nothing for probably 2 minutes. I accepted and jumped up and gave him a big hug and kiss! The restaraunt gave us a set of toasting flutes, which we are going to use on our wedding day. It was so perfect- even with my snide comments!
more to come!

The Dress
Found my dress at Bella Sera Bridal in Middleton MA. It is perfect. Mind you I was 20 lbs heavier when trying dresses on, and being less than 5' tall, it made a huge difference. I believe I was a 10 when trying dresses, now I am a 5(weight watchers is amazing!). So now after having it fitted to me so it is actually the right length($450 later after alterations), it is even more beautiful. My shoes are blue swarovski crystal flip flops and they are so comfy.
The Participants
MOH-FSIL...Kristen- a wonderful, creative graphic designer. She made our "Message in a Bottle" invitations for us! They are the most amazing things I have ever seen. Printed on aged canvas, with a pirate map theme printed on them. They are even burned around the edges, making them look really, really vintage. They are rolled up in a glass, full size wine bottle with a wax seal to close them. They were pricey to ship (hand-delivering the ones that I could), but well worth it! .
Best Man...Mike- DF best friend since elementary school. He has his airfare paid for (by me) and his hotel room paid for (by FMIL) and he's still complaining that he has to get to the airport for a 7:30 am flight. Enough said.
Flower Girl...Kaylee- cousin's daughter. She lives in FL, and I don't see them much. She came up this summer to visit her aunt and I took her to find a dress. After finding out the dress shop was closed, I took her back to my house to ride my horse. She had soo much fun! I wish that I could see her more. She will be walking down the isle with a magic wand bouquet- idea courtesy of the Dis boards!
The Day
We are having our ceremony at the Yacht Club Gazebo at 5:00 on Jan 20. (I know I saw another 1/20 bride here too!) Only having 32 guests, we are having the reception at the California Grille. I went to dinner there while I was there for my planning session visit and the food (and the view) is fantastic. We had a 5:00 reservation, but if you bring your recipt back, you can go out on the balcony and watch the fireworks. I did know that they were doing construction on the Contemporary, however, I was told by my salesperson that you wouldn't be able to see it from the Nappa Room. I saw the room during my visit... and you can. Not too happy, but whatever. The view over the castle is amazing, and having the reception at 7, we'll be there to watch the fireworks and have our own private balcony. Hopefully, the food will be as good as it was when we had our dinner there.
The Honeymoon
We are staying in Disney. We will be staying at the yacht club for the first 4 nights (DF staying with BM the night before at Pop.). Then we are going to Coronado for 8 and then going to Poly for 2. We are seeing Cirque du Soliel and doing the Segway tour through Epcot. DF has been there probably 15-19 times, and 5 myself. We are doing things that we've never done before, and probably never will, as FIL are paying for the entire thing! We have dinner at Beirgarten and the restaraunt in France. We have lunch at La Cellier and Sci-Fi Dine In, and breakfast at 1900 park fare. OUr rehersal will be at O'hana. We are also going to go to Universal and Islands of Adventure too. We went on our first trip together a few years ago, but it was August and awfully hot! I didn't really get to enjoy the park cause it was so hot. So we plan to revisit that one!

Wow, everything sounds great so far! I had breakfast this morning at 1900 PF and it was AMAZING! Don't forget to get a mickey waffle(or 5 or 6):rotfl2: They are out of this world!!!!

I'm the other 1/20 bride! Maybe we'll run into each other! We'll be at the Dance Hall, so we'll probably see you across the way.
