Just returned from 15 days in the world! I will attempt to recap our dining for you! We ate alot and I just got off the scale and I am up 8 lbs............BUT WHAT FUN WE HAD!!!

HILTON....Downtown Disney
Buffet Breakfast. Lots of choices....hot and cold cereals.....muffins and Krispy Kreme donuts........made to order omelts and waffles...Fruit smoothies.......eggs....bacon, turkey bacon.....ham etc.
Overall pretty good. Service was very good.

BOMA
Dinner buffet. EXCELLENT!! We really enjoyed this. Even my picky little eaters ate well. We begin with a sampling of all the hummus and pita bread......GREAT.......then we sampled alot of salads........VERY GOOD..........next I had the ribs......just enough bite to them, the meat fell off the bone......Zebra domes were very good but my favorite was the Coconut Tiramisu.......YUMMY!
A definite return trip in the waiting!!

TEPPANYAKI TABLES.....JAPAN
One of our favorites. WE ate there 2 times. The show was better the second time. I had shrimp, DH had beef and chicken, DD's had steak. WE will go back.

O'HANA.......Polynesian
VEry disappointed this time. ALL of the food was a little too spicey. The girls didn't eat much and when we got back to the room (OKW) they had waffles!!! Don't think we will return........although the girls had fun playing the games.

LeCellier.......CANADA
Excellent. I had the herb crusted prime rib, DH had the filet mignon. The cheddar soup was awesome and DH enjoyed his mixed field greens. We will go back.
We skipped dessert and opted for Beaver Tails!! We were disappointed! WE won't get them again.

OLIVIA'S......OKW
Excellent. I had Mahi-Mahi with carmelized onions over a bed of field greens with balsamic vingarette. DH had penne pasta with asiago (sp). He enjoyed it.

HOOP DE DOO REVUE
Excellent show and the food was pretty good. This was a first for us and we will return. The ribs were very good although messy and DH liked the chicken as did all DD's.

CINDERELLA'S ROYAL TABLE......mk
We had breakfast with the princesses. The food was good but the atmosphere even better. Snow White was a hit with DD #3. She was so kind and warm to my DD (who had been afraid of all characters)........it was great.

SCI-FI Diner.......MGM
WE had burgers, hot dogs, and rueben. Pretty good food. DD's liked it better than Prime Time cafe. Will go back.

Shutters, Bleachers and Lobster Shantay............VERO BEACH
All were good. Shutters and bleachers served basic foods and the lobster shanty had seafood. They try to be like New England seafood restaurants......but they can't cut it. We won't return there!!

CHEF MICKEYS.......Contemporary
Typical buffet. Love the parmesean mashed potatoes and peel and eat shrimp!! DD#2 had an injury with her "swinging" napkin and it go her in the eye!!!! Her eye was all red and tearing. The CM's were very kind and helpful to her. Dale even carried her plate for her!!

WHISPERING CANYON..............WL
WE had lunch here. I had the chicken caesar salad and DD's had hot dogs (DH had business on the west coast of FL that day). The food was pretty good but my youngest DD couldn't understand why the waiter kept saying he was our cousin!!

NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA........Rte 192West
We got a lg. extra cheese and lg. pepperoni. Pretty good pizza but nothing like pizza in Boston!!

We had most of our breakfast in our room (VWL or OKW) because DD's prefer cereal!!

We ate alot and had fun trying different places. Now, back to dieting and exercising!!

Any questions feel free to PM me!

Great reviews, Rosemary!! Le Cellier and Bomas are excellent, I agree!! Thanks for sharing!! :)

Thanks so much! What great reviews! This will sure come in handy on our next trip!

Interesting to hear about the Vero restaurants. We've been toying with the notion of going down there for dinner once--but it dosen't sound like you really enjoyed any of the places there. Any particular problems with those places (other than the Shanty)?

Uncleomulus, we have gone to Sonya's for the brunch a few years ago and it was excellent. The food at Shutters was basic fare. Burgers, pasta, salads and fish dishes. The food was good and we will eat there again.

The lobster Shanty wasn't good at all. Maybe we are spoiled with great seafood restaurants here in the Boston area!!

We also ate at Kona Cafe and loved the Tonga Toast!!

Great Reviews!!! We are going in Dec. and our going to be eating at some of the same places so can hardly wait. What did you think of the food served at HDD. Thanks Ron...

Wow! We have many of the same opinions! (I guess that means we've had similar experiences.) We love Boma and we've been several times. (Not as impressed with their breakfast.)
Teppanyaki-we dined there twice last year and once was much better than the experience a week later but both were good.
'Ohana--we were also very disappointed in this place and can't imagine going back. (Years ago we thought it was wonderful!)
Le Cellier-loved it!
We liked the Sci-Fi (although not as much as Prime Time)
Chef Mickey's -okay
Whispering Canyon-I thought the "cousin" business was just at Prime Time and 'Ohana!
Any how, I just find it unusual that so many of your opinions matched my own. That doesn't happen very often and I've been around these boards for a long time!

Rosemary,

Great Reviews. Can I ask about the games your DD's played while at Ohana's ? I've never heard of games there? Sounds like fun.

Thanks,
Lisa

Thanks for the reveiws. I am thinking of trying Boma next time.. I have 2 DDs who are picky eaters. Will they also enjoy it? What were some of the things for kids....corvair amy thanks

My picky DD's ate spaghetti (with butter) at Boma's and all loved the different Hummus' with the crackle bread. They also ate salads and "tried" the ribs but found them too spicy!! They sampled every dessert and had no complaints in that department!!!

The games at O'hana's were Coconut hockey or something like that. The kids used a broom and had to roll the coconut around the restaurant. At the end they were given gummy worms for a prize. Last year they also did hula hoop contests but not this time.

Sounds like you had a great time...at least eating. Yummy! Thanks for the reviews.
