I don't think the VIP express has impacted express lines at all. There's such a small percentage of people purchasing them that it hasn't affected the express lines.

I agree that if they keep giving new ways for people to "skip the lines", then the UE lines will be just as long as the regular lines.

They need to limit the number of these that they sell per day.

I think they do limit the number of EP that are sold. It seems like the people who have gone this summer have experienced lines that are under 15 minutes and that is the goal.

They're also going to need to tighten up on the original version of the Express Pass that they sell. I noticed they are better about it in the summer, but earlier this year I would see many, many people going through lines without anyone marking the ride off. Since I'm there after 4 p.m. w/my Premier pass, I can only guess that at least some of them have been doing it all day. One guy got downright beliigerent with a TM when his pass was marked, saying, "But no one else has done that all day!" If they want to add people to the lines via an unlimited version, they need to be tighter on the other rules to keep people out who technically don't belong there.

when we where there EP lines where not to bad during the week, Friday to Sunday they where really bad, waited 30mins on dudleys 15mins on JP hulk and DD just did not bother [so we gave the parks a miss at the weekends] put this down to Floridans stayin at the hotels, as the pool areas where packed compared to during the week. Plus saw some jumping into the EP line and when they got to the ride the TM was not even asking people for their passes, this was not a regular thing, but TM should be checking when they get to the ride prior to boarding it

Sometimes that will happen if the ride has been down. We experienced that on Jurassic Park but found out that the ride had broken down and the people just kept filling up the express lane.

I can understand that for a broken down ride. I haven't experianced long EP lines yet, so I'll hold judgement until I do. But if I get stuck in 30+ min waits for several rides.....USF will have a hard time getting me back onsite.

We've had 30 minute waits (and longer) on Mummy in the Express Lane. Not sure if breakdowns were involved...hasn't happened in a couple of months.

the TM's do the best they can to work the EP lines, it depends on what the crowds are doing. if a large amount of people with EP's and hotel keys follow the same track around the parks, the EP lines back up.

there's no guarantee you're going to have a five minute wait.

We found EP lines longer at weekends, during the week and evenings where not bad. There where lots of South American groups of Teenagers there, and they all had Fastpass, the groups seemed to go different ways around the parks so they where not all queuing at the same rides, but made it extremely long, we just left e park when we saw lots of different groups there.

If a lot of their target market is held "captive" on-property at WDW, making it difficult for them to get over to Universal. So Universal is basically saying, if you rent a car or pay Mears an arm and a leg to get over here for the day, you won't have to do it again tomorrow to make sure you see everything

Obviously this isn't directed at their own on-site guests (who have this perk already), and I doubt it's really aimed at the locals (you could get an AP for almost the same price and come back to ride your favorites whenever). All I can think is that it's a "bribe" to convince Disney guests who used Magic Express to put the extra effort in to get over to Uni.

Yeah and I remember a mere two years ago EP was free and now it's clearly a money making thing. Heck...I think $65.99 for an HHN EP is ridiculous!

It is and $!49 for an all day express pass is even more ridiculous. Universal needs to take a step back here...because IMO, that is crossing the line.

We were there a few weeks ago and there was a BIG problem with teens going through the Express Line ropes near the locker area and majorly filling up the line (45 min. EP wait when we went by). The next day, they had a TM (who told me what all had happened) inside in the express line near where the handicap lane branches off checking passes. Some TM's are very lax and some are on the ball. And some attractions, like Mummy, are too easy to break in line wrong line.

We rode the mummy last week, it's quite a walk/maze through the express line and then a TM stopped us to look at our hotel card, she checked the dates and then let us continue.

I can't see this sticking around for long. At $149 a person... a family of four (kids old enough to need adult passes) they spend $600 for a day. The math for one day tickets and a $200 onsite hotel is $500. Spend an extra $50 and you'll get multi-day tickets and 2 days of unlimted express plus a night on-site. The market for this price point, I imagine, would also be the same people willing to pay the money to stay on-site anway. It is a lot of money and just seems foolish for someone without deep pockets.

I've hit a few long EP lines, but it usually happens when there is an issue with the ride, or just poor planning on our part. Sometimes EVERYBODY decides they want to use their EPs at the same time. But that's never a common occurance on our trips.

Is it possible to have a thread on this board without calling out "Disney"? Anyone going to Disney or USO without research is nuts...regardless where they started...
