Just got home from IOA/USF and noticed an ad at the ticket windows for a $149 Express Pass good all day (vs. the once on each ride offering). Thought that was interesting...I hope they don't end up offering so much that they make the Express lines too long. But I do have to say the Express waits were very reasonable today...longest was 10 mins. on Hulk, but with an hour standby I ain't complaining!

Both Mummy AND MIB were closed at USF when we got there tho'....bummer.

I hope thats only a temporary thing they offer. Express is getting about ridiculous. They have so many different tickets nowadays, from the one use, to the hotels, and now this?
I can see them really turning a lot of people off to the Express system.

Yeah and I remember a mere two years ago EP was free and now it's clearly a money making thing. Heck...I think $65.99 for an HHN EP is ridiculous!

How many people would actually spend $149 for an express pass????

That doesn't make sense, the guided VIP tours are less than that. Perhaps it was a group thing?

Somebody who doesn't want to pay $200/nite for onsite hotel....however, the $149 EP is for ONE, for an additional $50, you can get a family into the hotel with at least TWO days of EP

Actually, what I've heard is that the new tickets include park admission as well. So $150 for unlimited express, and park admission.

Timmy, they don't include admission. And yes, a guided tour is less. And more fun.

Ok sorry. That's just what my lead told me. I won't trust anything she says anymore.

Actually it does include park admission:

"Universal Orlando VIP pass
1 day/2 Park with Unlimited Express Plus

$149.95 (plus tax) adults $139.95 (plus tax) Child

Guests can purchase a one day/two park ticket with unlimited express plus access at both parks for one day. Price includes a courtesy lanyard."

(This began on June 26 and is on a trial basis.)

ETA: I think Universal Hollywood has had this type of ticket for awhile.

Thanks for the clarification phamton....

So, it's about the same as ticket price PLUS EP price but with unlimited EP.....dunno....some might go for that! On the other hand, why would Universal want to promote a ONE day ticket?? Wouldn't you think they'd offer more than a 1 day ticket so the people will be back to spend their money??? OR, is it only 1 day cuz it's in "trial" mode?

buy an AP and be at the gates by 8:30.

if UO keeps trying to leverage the EP lines any more, they're going to collapse.

Sorry, there's so many of these, I don't know them anymore.

Really! Doing 2 parks in 1 day, with unlimited EP would mean they have no time to spend money on anything else. Maybe, they're trying to get as much as possible out of the "We only have 1 day for Universal. What should we do?" people. :confused3 Hopefully, they won't sell enough of these to negatively impact the EP lines. You'd think they'd much rather keep the onsite devotees that stay multiple nights & never leave the property happy. UO gets all their money. If the EP line becomes less of a perk, many of those guests will disappear. That's a lot of money to make up for. OTOH, I may be looking at this from a purely selfish standpoint.

PS: They seem to be throwing around a lot of ticket ideas, based on surveys some of us have received. Hopefully, this one will be limited or disappear all together.

No worries. I have trouble keeping up, too. I didn't know that HHN tickets were being sold at the parks until about a week after they were on sale.

So when will the standby lines become shorter than the EP lines? Seems pretty silly...
