14 Nights at WDW and free dining!

Day 13 - Last Day (K's Pick-Animal Kingdom)

I kind of helped her pick by mentioning all the animals and no rides! The thought of one more ride on Winnie the Pooh was too much.

We got up and ready earlier today as we had a lot left to see at Animal Kingdom. We went down to the food court and asked when Chef K would be in as we (I) wanted to thank her for the cake. We found out she was going to be in later in the evening. K had another pizza for breakfast and I ate some chocolate chip pancakes.

When we got to AK, we met Pocahontas before entering the park. K refused to get her photo taken with her so we just got an autograph. We then went into the park and went in line to see Pooh and friends. I think it was Eeyore's autograph that we were missing. But we also got some nice photopass photos with all the characters. It was very warm out. We took the train over to Rafiki's Planet Watch and K saw Rafiki and Jiminy Cricket at the Conservation Centre. K enjoyed looking at the animals in there. We went outside and saw a giant tortoise and an owl (part of a show). We also went into the goat area.

We took a break and shared an orange popsicle. Then walked back to the train station and after arriving back in Africa we walked over to Asia to catch the last performance of Flights of Wonder.

We then went to Flame Tree BBQ for lunch.

After lunch K wanted to do some shopping as she still had money left. She bought her sister and herself a hand drum with a Mickey head on it.

After shopping we headed for the bus. K fell asleep on the bus ride back to Pop. A very nice lady who had an older daughter offered to take the stroller off the bus so I could carry K and let her sleep. K must have been exhaused as she didn't wake up when I placed he in the stroller. I looked around in the gift shop for a T-shirt with Stitch on it (we waited a little too long to find this). We only started looking at AK earlier. I did manage to find a T-shirt with Stitch (he was small) and a bunch of other characters. I also spotted a robot Stitch. I purchased the T-shirt, although it was at least a size too big (they didn't have a smaller size). I left the robot Stitch there and thought I would let K buy it later.

I returned to the Food Court at 6pm when I was told that Chef Katrina would be there. She wasn't there yet. I was told she would be back at 8pm. I took K back up to the room -she was still sleeping. As soon as we got into the room she woke up. So I set her up watching TV after showing her the new T-shirt. Then I started packing. K started whining that she was hungry and I told her we would head down to the food court soon, but Chef K wouldn't be there for another half hour. We went down at 7:45pm and stopped in the gift shop so K could buy the Robot Stitch. She was so happy with it.

I ordered K another pizza, and I also had a cheese pizza. I also asked Chef Rob about taking a box of the Divvies Chocolate Chip Cookies home with us as we had enough snack credits to do this. Chef K was still not there so we ate dinner. After eating we went and found a family that wasn't on the dining plan and asked them if we could give them some drinks and what would they like. We still had so many credits to use up. So we gave them a bunch of bottled water.

We finally found Chef K and said thank you to her for the chocolate cake. I was getting a little worried that I wouldn't be able to thank her. We headed up to our room to get some sleep as we were leaving early in the morning. The bus was picking us up at 4:30am. We did try to eat the rest of the vanilla Tofutti. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get the chocolate cake home.

We were over our limit for carry on items with the extra bag containing the snacks from Goofy's and the Chocolate Cake.

Trip Home

We had a wake up call very early in the morning. I had put K's clothes on the bed so she could get dressed quickly this morning.

I waited til morning to defrost the fridge as I still had so many drinks in it. I pulled all the drinks out and put them on the table and cleaned the fridge. I left the only water I hadn't opened in the fridge so the next person in the swap could have it. I quickly dressed and went nextdoor to make sure the neighbours were awake.

Shortly afterward the CM came to take our luggage as I was trying to pack up the fridge. He helped me put it into the box. I tried giving him some of the juice and flavored water that we had left but he wouldn't take it. He finally took one when I insisted that there was too much and they would be thrown away.

He quickly loaded our luggage and then loaded the neighbours bags on one cart. We headed down to the bus stop. I figured we would probably be the only ones leaving at such a dreadfully early hour, but was surprised to see a few people there. We made a stop at the Carribean Beach Resort to pick up one more passenger and then headed to the airport.

I still had too many drinks but tried to see if they would catch the 2 bottles of Chocolate Silk Soy Milk in the stroller and an apple juice drink box. I tossed the OJ, I think it had gone bad anyway. They didn't say a word to me about the drinks. K and I drank one of the Soy Milks at the Burger King and she also had a banana. The neighbours ate breakfast at BK. K can't really eat anything but the hashbrowns and I didn't bother getting her any. I don't usually eat at fast food places and really don't like eating it for breakfast.

We had a bit of a wait at the airport for our flight so A set C up to play a computer game on the laptop. K watched what he was doing. We were all tired, but this was a short flight to Atlanta. I don't think anyone slept on this flight. But everyone slept on the flight to Seattle-except A and of course me!

It was on this last flight that the cup holder on the P3 somehow came off. I had one heck of a time getting it on the stroller and quite honestly never thought it would come off during the flight. I noticed it as soon as we were headed up into the airport, so I ran back down and asked right away but the flight staff said the people unloading were already gone and to go to the office near the baggage claim to report the missing cup holder.

I did report it and they really didn't seem to think that it would get back to me. They said I would get a $25 credit for a future flight with them.

We phoned to get the Skyway Inn to come and pick us up, but apparently we didn't call from the courtesy phones so we had to go to the pick up area and call again. We did this and then waited for the van to arrive. Well the van that came to get us was very old and worn. The seat that I sat in was very springy-little foam left. At least we made it back to the motel to get the van.

We then had to figure out how to load the van as we now had an extra stroller and an extra bag (the neighbours packed one inside another for souvieners). The van was very full. We put the kids in the back this time, so I had a little more room.

We stopped for lunch/dinner at a Denny's restaurant. R had fun playing the hook games at the entrance. He is very good at them and spent about $10 and grabbed 2 hats, a T-shirt and a bunch of stuffed animals.

K had been throwing up on the way so I changed her in the bathroom. I ordered her some french fries and gave her a banana from WDW. I had a salad with chicken. They didn't seem to have much that was dairy free.

We finally got back on the road and stopped at the duty free to get our tobacco and alcohol. I brought my mom back some alcohol for looking after the daycare for me. A also grabbed some milk and stuff at the grocery store. Then we went through and didn't even get questioned about having my niece. I didn't even show the notorized note that I had giving me permission to take my niece. What a change from last year when we flew from Vancouver, I was practically grilled as to why I was taking her and not her mother.

We finally made it home but it was much later than we thought it would be. I think we got back around 8pm. I was worried we might be back before all the daycare kids had left, and then have to start working!
