14 months too young for WDW? Should we wait until he 20 months or older?

I say go whenever is good for you. You really can't predict how your specific child will be at different ages.

That being said, we just came back from WDW where my DD turned 2 on the trip. It was such a great age - she knew what was going on, and loved the characters! A few months before, she would have been scared. (She met our university mascot)

However, the biggest difference for us was that she had just grown out of the age where she got cranky and fussy when she got tired. During the trip, she was super go with the flow and would just decide to fall asleep on one of our shoulder's when she got tired, which was great because she didn't sleep much on the trip! A month before we would have had a cranky toddler whenever she got tired, but she was never fussy on this trip!

We took DD at 8.5 mo for her first trip and it was more magical for me than her no doubt, but it was great. We got her first haircut at the Main St Barbershop, and her first ride was It's a Small World. She was mesmerized by the parade and met Snow White while decked out in her own Snow White outfit. She doesn't remember any of it, but we do. And it was awesome. At 8.5 mo she was not overly expressive but you could see she was just soaking it all in. There is just so much to see and do at Disney.

We are going again in a few weeks and DD will be 19mo. It will be a much more challenging visit because of her schedule and temper these days, but I also think it will be better in so many ways because she'll be more into things. I am looking forward to seeing her experience it.

These first two trips will not be her only trips and we didn't want to wait a few years until we took her. You should go for it and enjoy it! It will likely be a much different trip (slower pace, less planned, etc) but trust me, it will be one of your favorites. :)

Ok- I will take a note on the aquarium and the 3D-4D movies!
I heard that the Pooh ride is very rough/bouncy? I never rode it since the line is always pretty long.

There is a part of the ride that bounces, but I don't find it rough. The kids love that about the ride. :goodvibes

Another thing the twins liked at that age was spending time in the pool (weather permitting of course). DH took them to the pool after dinner for a bit and that seemed to help them wind down before bath and bedtime. Then he would take my oldest back to the pool while I put the twins down. We did try to keep their schedule as much as possible which made the trip more enjoyable IMO.

The only danger from the bouncing part of the Pooh ride is the hiccups you'll get from laughing so hard when it starts :) It's just so freakin' cute, you can't help it.

Awwwww thanks!

Now I will definitely have to try that ride!!!

Good to know... Not sure why I read somewhere that it was rough??!!

We are planing on going on nov-dec so I am not sure how much pool time we will have even though we are from MA!

We took our son at 10 months old. He was very easy to travel with. Disney makes it pretty easy to travel with babies. He was not a fan of fireworks but loved all the lights and music. The characters did not faze him at all. Actually, he LOVED the princesses at Akerhaus. He tried to touch them every time they walked passed us.

I love the idea of the first hair cut at WDW but not sure if I can wait until he is 14 months!

I am hoping it will be my favorite trip!
