14 Months after booking told....

The first time cruisers on board credit was not valid on 2004 Bookings

Has anyone made a reservation for a cruise using the ref code from a referal from a castaway club member and been told it wasn't valid 14 months after booking? We booked our Jan 3, 2004 cruise in September of 2002 using the ref code for First time cruisers from a referral from a cc member and was never told that it did not apply to 2004 bookings until today 12/11/03. I was told that is never was valid on 2004 bookings and I said then why wasn't I told when I booked. Was told that they have it noted that I was told when booked. I stated if that was so I wouldn't have notes confirming the onboard credit and to call and verify it in Mid Dec 2003.
I guess I'm just venting.

...to us. We booked through AAA this last January for January 25, 2004, and our TA from AAA assumed we would get the first time cruisers credit. She called me about a month ago and said that she found out it was only for 2003 dates. Disney didn't make that very clear, as I have spoken to a couple of other TA's who were confused by the cut-off date. Sorry that happened to you, too.....

I booked for 2004 back in 2002 through DU. I asked if I could use the REF code and was told it couldn't be applied toward 2004 dates at that time and that it might carry over, might not. I'm glad they gave it to me straight instead of setting me up for disapointment. Sorry you weren't told the whole story. At least your TA could say sorry instead of trying to say it was you who has forgotton
