14 Magical days at WDW

Hi everyone I usually don't write TR but we had such a magical trip I thought I would share. The only thing that won't be on here is any pictures. My computer does not like the memory card from my camera so I can't download them. So any way this trip came about completely by accident. We had planned on going on a cruise this summer but for many reason moved it to Christmas. We already had plane tickets so I begged everyone to go to WDW. What could be better then 14 days with mickey and the gang . To let you know who we are here's a list of the boring stuff . You know who we are where were staying. You may not care but I'm adding it any way.

Cast of characters:
Me: I go by Lissa. I love all things Disney with a passion. I turned 30 this year and the only thing that made it easier was that it happened at WDW. I'm also the planner family. If it were not for me we would never eat in a restaurant or do any of the cool stuff we get to do.

DM: My wonderful mom Nancy. The reason we get to do these trips is becasue of her. She turns 60 this year while we ar eon our Disney cruise. She loves Disney just like me and has been going since the world opened.

DB: Matt is not as into WDW as mom and I are. What he lpves is the food. He is in culinary school and wants to cokk for Disney when he finishes.

We are staying at SSR. This will be our third stay as DVC members. We were there August first through the fourtenth.

We have some special things planned for this trip. One of them is the Chef's domanin at Citroco's. This is a surprise for my brothers birthday. The other is the back stage magic tour. We have done this tour before but have heard has changed so are anxious to do it again. Well that is enough of an intro for now. I'm sure I have bored everyone to death with this. When i booked our flight I had slected an 8 am departure time basically becasue my family threatened me with death if we were to have to leave before the butt crack of dawn. Us air knew I was not happy with this and changed our time to 5:45am. So we need to be up at 3 to be at the airport by 4. This does not happen I've caught some sort of evil disney trip ruining bug and was sick for three straight days. By thursday i wanted to die. we made it to the airport at five and thankfully make it to the gate on time. The flight down was uneventufully at least for me I slept through it. Later my mom informs me that there was a drunk dude sitting behind us keeping everyone entertained. Any who we get to orlando grab our bags and dash to the rental car. TG for online check in we are at WDW in record time. Well the plan was to check in go to our room, unpack, get groceries, go to downtown disney. Tongiht we have reservations at Wolfgang's at tickets for La Nouba. Plans failed and somehow we ended up at EPCOT. But back to La Nuba if you've never done it before do it. The show is so worth the money. I loved the little chinese girls and the diablos. Even though we were exhausted from being up so earlier this show kept us awake. There is never a dull moment. They are so cool. Oh i almost forgot as wewere bording the plane we heard my mom being paged. No one could figure out why so we didn't worry. Two dasy later we got a phone call from our neighbor telling us the pet sitter never showed up that day and we left our garage door open. Thankfully they took care of both situations for us. TG for good neighbors.

I'll post an update this weekend. School and work have gotten me pretty busy. Figured out teh problem with my camera so I'll be adding pictures soon.

This is the day i was really excited about because i was actually going to be able to surprise my DB for his B-day. Through the help of member services we were able to book the chef's domain at citroco's. This is basically a private dining experience with atasting menu combined with the regular menu. First we had to go to the MK. Mickey kindly woke everyone up at 7 in the morning. I bounded out of bed while DM and DB struggled and were glarring at me. Ok I was a little perky but hey it was a big day and I was excited. After stuffing down a pop tart and quickly getting dressed we were otu the door. Ok i love having a rental car no waiting for buses and I always had a seat. We are at the turnstile for MK in no time and are quickly walking through. DM and Db laugh at me but the minute we see the castle i burst inot tears. There is something about that first time i see it that bring sback so many happy memories. Once crying is done it's time for fun. After a quick stop at a photo person weare on to fronteirland and thunder mountain. This is tradition for us it has to be our first ride. after our quick thrill we are off again. Ok I'm sure no one wants a step by step of what we didso onto later that evening. About 3 we head back to have a refreshing swim and a break before getting ready for dinner which was at 8. DB knew we were going to Citroco's but did not know anything else. He actually gets mad thta we are making him put on a shirt and tie when he knows he does not have to get dressed up for dinner. He gets over it when DM glares at him and tells him to hush when I have a mini melt down. a seam in my dress ripped i was in tears. Thankfully a CM in AP had a safety pin that would fix the problem. We are finally off to GF. i love this resort it is so beautiful. We are a little early so we go out to the fountian to take pictures and then up to the lounge to have a pre dinner drink. DB still has no idea but DM and I are not sure whther to tell him or not. DM finally ask if he wants to know a secret about dinner. Being the unexcitable person he is DB was like what ever. So I hand him the envelope with the description of what we are about to do ni it. It is at this time that i really wished i had my video camera with me. I don't think i have ever seen my DB so excited or so emotional we actually made him cry. Needless to say this surprise was a hit and we all enjoyed it. DB loved the interaction between the chef and the otehr staff. It was a little long 3 1/2 hours but it was so worth it. I'm glad we were able to do this becasue it is probable something none of us will ever forget.
