Hello everyone !

I have a reservation for next august as folow :

7 days off site
11 days at OLK
14 days ulimate ticket
free dining

When we made the reservation, we planned to spend the entire first week at US / IOA / Seaworld, but I know realized that it will to much time. We are now thingking on going to WDW 2 or three days earlier but still stying off site for those extra days.

We are DVC members

Here my questions :

Can I go to a park guest relation to change my 14 days ultimate ticket to an Premium AP two days before my checkin day ?

Can I still keep the free dining if I do that ?

As I am a dvc member, how much will I add to make this upgrade ?

Many thanks for you help !

I just did this upgrade during our October/ November trip. It is my understanding that you should have used the ticket in order to get the best discount, otherwise I think they can just knock off the amount you actually paid rather than the gate price of the ticket.

Also, I have heard that you can get your ticket early when booked on a US reservation, however I vaguely recall this either being very problamatic or impossible with a UK res.

In terms of my situation, I had about 3 days left on my ticket as it was the day before we flew home. I went to MK guest services (although I was told I could do it at guest relations inside or outside any park or at DTD).

As I remember, I paid $121.00 including my DVC discount. I also got a free family FP for use on 1 ride in MK for waiting whilst they upgraded my ticket.

A small warning, they did say the DDP may have been removed from my room ticket and that I should use a ticket from another member in my party when using the credits (although as it was my last day I never tested my card out).

Hope this helps :)

Can you still use your ultimate ticket after you have checked out your room as there may be days remaining??...or do you have the get the tickets taken off the room key?

You still use your room key. After we checked out of OKW last year we did a Disney cruise then back for offsite for 3 nights, still used the room keys incl 21 day ultimate tix for park entry.

We're thinking doing this also next summer.

Tink2312, could you tell me if the AP date begins on the upgrade day or does it begin on the day you first used the 14 days ultimate?

All posts I have read before have said the start date was backdated to activation of original passes.

Many thanks for all your replies !

But, can someone confirm if I can do an early pick up ticket with an UK ticket ? It may change our planning a lot if we are not able to do that ...

As Wayneg said, it's the first day I used my 14 day ultimate that it is backdated to. Also, just wanted to clarify that you can only upgrade to the premium annual pass from the 14 day ultimates which inc the waterparks etc.

We had one day tickets on our room key when we booked with US disney (you needed to buy a ticket to qualify for free dining) we didn't use them as we already had tickets.

I asked twice about getting the tickets off the cards and was told no need. just use the room key cards as the tickets would still be valid on them.

I am very sorry to bother you again with that, but can someone confirm if he/she had success with an early pick up ticket with an UK reservation ?

Have a look on the theme parks board there is an all about tickets thread by Cheshire figment - he is a cm. If the answer isn't there try pm'ing him - aim sure will give you the answer.

I don't think you will be able to use DVC discount for the AP - you certainly can't stay on DVC points and get free dining

This is the extract from the thread referred to: it looks as if tickets may be picked up 3 days before:

I. Picking up Package Tickets Prior To Start Of Package

In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up.

It is only valid for people with packages at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort. You can be staying off-property at the time you pick up the tickets. Note that if you have a package which includes Dining, although you can pick up your tickets early you cannot get access to the Dining until you have actually checked in to your Resort.

There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.

And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in.

I don't think you will be able to use DVC discount for the AP - you certainly can't stay on DVC points and get free dining

2 separate things. OP has probably made a cash reservation to get free DDP. As to the tickets, if they are a DVC member, they will get the discounted PAP, unless they remove all the plus features and waterparks and more, in which case they can upgrade to the DVC AP.
