14 days left till our trip

Ha! Ha! I was coming on to post something similar!!! :rotfl: We are at the 16 day mark ourselves and it just doesn't seem the least bit real that we'll be there in just over 2 weeks :goodvibes :confused3

The planning for 11 months.... tons of planning.... and now having this permanent indentation in my computer chair from too much time on the Dis.... :rotfl: :rotfl:

I really don't know what to do with myself between now and then. I can't really pack yet as we're still wearing the summer clothes that we'll be bringing. :rotfl: :rotfl:

We have tons of sunblock. I've made arrangements for a cat sitter, mail pick-up, etc...

I suppose I could plan my DD's bday party that we're having 1.5 DAYS after we get back (not my choice-it's DH's family insisting it HAS to be that day because Labor Day weekend is the next weekend following the weekend we return :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: )

I can't wait!!! :yay:  :yay:  :cool1: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

We are also having a bday party for my DS that Saturday and we have warned the family that it will be extremely casual - pizza for everyone!!! Personally, I was against it b/c I thought celebrating his bday in Disney was enough for any kid but my DH thought it was only fair. I hate it when he's right! Hopefully, getting this last minute party together will keep me from falling into PDD (post Disney depression).

OK, so we're down to 9 days... single digits!!!

The dog is going to the vet this morning, so she'll have the shots the kennel requires.

I have a list on the fridge of the things I still have to pick up: sunglasses (mine broke last week), scrunchies for my daughter's hair, that type of stuff. Aside from that, I already did the Target moleskin/shampoo/sunblock type run.

I've transferred all the trip-specific paperwork from a 1" binder into a folder. It's lightweight enough that I can put it into my carryon.

I've printed up touring plans for each of the parks.

My house is slowly getting cleaner.

I think today I'll finalize the suitcases.

I have a question about them though. I got some brightly colored bandanas to help distinguish our navy blue suitcases from everyone else's at JFK. Should I put them on now or will they be a distraction for the people looking for the DME tags? I could always bring the bandanas and just attach them before checking out on the way home.

Oh, yeah: I'm definitely overthinking all this!!

We leave in 11 days:cool1:
I am getting my park bag ready. We don't get to Pop until 8 or so at night, so 1 of my carry ons will be my park bag for the next day, ready to go with diapers, wipes, cameras, misting fan, ponchos, suntan lotion wipes, a few snacks, and a change of clothes for DS's. This will be 1 less thing to do that night and if my bags get lost, I can still hit the parks.
I am also packing my 3-1-1 bags and looking to see what I have to buy in smaller sizes still.

What is a 3-1-1 bag??

IMHO, I would wait to put them on when you're leaving Disney!! You don't want the ME people having trouble finding your bags! Just pack them for now!

What is a 3-1-1 bag??

It's the rule for getting liquid/gel items through security.

I took this from the Jetblue website, but I imagine all the airlines have the same info:

"Information on the 3-1-1 Directive
3-1-1 for carry-on baggage = 3 oz bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic,
zip-top bag; 1 bag per Customer placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person
limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz container size is a
security measure.

Customers are prohibited from taking liquids, gels, and/or aerosols past the airport
security screening checkpoint EXCEPT:

one clear transparent, resealable 1 quart (1 liter) size plastic bag containing
liquids, gels, and aerosols in travel size containers (3 oz. capacity)
or less per container.
The contents of the plastic bag must fit comfortably and the plastic bag must
be completely sealed, be taken out of the carryon bag and placed in a security
bin

Please note: liquids, gels, and aerosols include beverages, shampoo, suntan
lotion, creams, toothpaste, hair gel, hair spray, and other items of similar
consistency.

Liquid Exemptions (exempt items more than 3 ounces)
Customers may have the following items, but must declare them to TSA at the
security checkpoint if the items are not contained in a clear transparent resealable
1 quart (1 liter) size plastic bag and/or the size of the containers exceed travel size
(3 oz):

Baby formula or milk (to include breast milk), baby food and/or juice in
containers if a baby or small child is traveling
Medications (liquid, gel, and aerosol)
Liquids (to include juice) or gels for diabetic or other medical needs
Items used to augment the body for medical or cosmetic reasons such as
mastectomy products, prosthetic breasts, bras or shells containing gels, saline
solution, or other liquids; and,
Gels or frozen liquids needed to cool disability or medically-related items used
by persons with disabilities or medical conditions.

Customers may be subjected to a secondary screening if they enter the screening
checkpoint with liquids, gels, and aerosols on their person or in their carryon
bag.

Traveling with Formula, Breast Milk, or Juice
When carrying formula, breast milk, or juice through the checkpoint, customers will be
inspected, however, the customer or their baby or toddler will not be asked to test or
taste breast milk, formula, or juice. The TSA Security Officers may test liquid
exemptions (exempt items more than 3 ounces) for explosives.

When traveling with a child, in the absence of suspicious activity or items, greater
than 3 ounces of baby formula, breast milk, or juice are permitted through the security
checkpoint in reasonable quantities for the duration of the customer's itinerary, if the
customer perform the following:

Separate these items from the liquids, gels, and aerosols in your quart-size and
zip-top bag.
Declare you have the items to one of our Security Officers at the security
checkpoint.
Present these items for additional inspection once reaching the X-ray. These
items are subject to additional screening.

Customers are encouraged to travel with only as much formula, breast milk, or juice in
their carry-on needed to reach your destination. "

Thanks for the clarification!! (and reminder about security measures) In fact, we are taking Jet Blue, so you also reminded me to pack our headsets for inflight entertainment that we have from last trip. I just added it to my carryon packing list. Otherwise, it is a $1 per person and we are a family of 6!!! You may want to add it to your list if you are taking Jetblue too!

Thanks! They're already in one of the 2 big bins full of Disney stuff. I got them a few months ago when www.1saleaday.com had them for free (aside from shipping, of course!)

Another thing someone here reminded me of today: a surge protector thing for the room. We'll have 2 cell phones, 2 Nintendo DS's and a laptop, and we'll want to recharge them all each night. I figure this way they'll all be in the same spot each night and we won't leave any chargers behind.
