Hi all,

We are going back to wdw in July :yay: and are staying for 17 nights at SSR, we have purchased a 14 night disney pass and was wondering if that becomes valid when we check in or when we first use it?

We are thinking of doing Seaworld and Busch Gardens on the first couple of days and then hitting disney after but that plan may change depending on whether tickets become valid when we check in or not....

It's from when it's first used (and some people will testify that it lasts 15 days in reality, but I can't confirm that.)

It is valid for 14 days from first use.
It is not dependent on your hotel booking.

For example, if you decide to use it starting on your 5th day at the hotel, you'll still have 14 days on your tickets.
If the tickets are put onto your Key To The World, they will remain valid even after your hotel check-out (if they are still within those 14 days of first use) then your room key will only become a park ticket for the remainder of the tickets valid period.

The tickets are known to be valid for 15 days in total BUT there is a strong possibility that for this to happen you need to not go to the park at least one day during the 14 first days
for example if you do 14 park days in a row, your ticket may not be valid for a 15th day, but if you do like 10 days, 1 day break, 3 days (14 days total), then you may have a 15th day on your tickets.
Reports have confirmed this 15th day but AFAIK no one so far has verified if 15 days in a row did work.

Each year we use the Ultimates 1 day longer than the stated days.
Aug 2011 our relatives used 14 day Ultimtes for 15 days, we used 21 days for 22 days. Last August again relatives used for 15 days but we upgraded to annual passes. Once activated(as said its when you use them not from check in) go into guest services and ask when they expire, if they haven't changed their system you get 15 days.

Thank you for reply, thats interesting that the ticket may last 15 days, I might have to put that to good use!!! ::yes::

i sure hope this happens for us this year..

we're going to arrive on the 13th....
so we'll go into the park on the 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17th...
then we head out on a cruise on the 18 - 25..
we go back to disney on the 25, 26, and 27..
so how long is that?
if we start on the 13th and end on the 27th....
the 27th will be the 15th day.....i wonder if we'll get that day or not....hmmmm....no way will i buy a one day ticket if we don't get that day...

i have to look at the cost of a regular US ticket that covers 8 days and doesn't expire....of course, we won't get unlimited entrance into the water parks/DQ....

When are you going? I think its after us in August, if it is I will try remember to post how we go on. remind me if I forget.

Only thing to note we couldn't use the 14 day for 15 days worth of entries. You can use 14 days over 15 days.

august.

the prices are so crazy high.

i wasn't thinking about tickets before now.

i have an AP from last year. I suspect it's only an AP, not a PAP, since i wasn't with the family last year (so no reason to do the waterparks and DQ).

so that means i'll have to upgrade my AP to a PAP - hmmmm....and the darn thing will only be good for another 6 weeks after i upgrade it....annoying..

as far as DH, DD and DSIL go - i've been playing with the numbers..
a 14 day ultimate
a regular US disney ticket
a PAP

of course the 14 day ultimate is the cheapest date in town...
my only problem with the 14 day is it's very difficult for me to buy...
we're not in the european union (or the UK), so disney UK won't sell it to us....last time i bought it through my company's UK travel agent.
it worked out well. it just means paying a service fee and hoping the post works well enough to get the tickets to me.(or maybe better - pay for a courier)

so that's just a bit of extra complexity.

i think i bought the tickets from attraction tickets direct last time..
so let's see...
checking the price, 3 adult tickets (for DH, DD and DSIL) would be £795 = $1,217

3 eight day tickets that don't expire (with park hopping and waterparks) would be about $648 X 3 = $1,944

3 PAPs would be $729 x 3 = $2,187

that's kind of a no brainer...

of course, the 14 day ultimates would cost a bit more than that - i'd probably have to add on about $100 service fee to the agent to buy them for me. Maybe even £100.

but they're still much cheaper, even with a service fee.
lets say £900 (14 day ultimate) vs £1,269 (8 day no-expiration) vs £1,429 (PAP)

Tickets are becoming a nightmare.
We have decided this next year will be our last with Disney tickets. Going to renew our AP's one last time then that's it for a few years, we will keep SW & Busch AP's and explore more.
Unless I am mistaken our AP's renewal price has dropped, I have checked numerous sites but all seem to say the same. Last year it cost $563.39, new price $552.74. We are not bothered about water parks or DQ so not having PAP's again, only got them this year because we got a good rate upgrading Ultimates & got 20% off all purchases (now dropped to same 10% rate as AP)

yes, that drop from 20% to 10% discount is really annoying...

the other parks are a much better buy (universal, sea world, busch), but disney's really the only one we're interested in (we don't like universal at all)...

i don't know if maybe this is the last time we'll visit....of course, i say that every year, but it may really be true this time..

we all agreed that in 2015 we're going to do the far east disney trip (shanghai, hong kong and tokyo)...it probably won't cost much more than florida
