Our booking includes a 14 day Ultimate Ticket, which is valid for use from 1st May 2014.

We expect to be onsite at our Disney hotel at about 5pm on 1st May. As this will be equivalent to 10pm UK time we will likely be tired and have no intention of visiting a park that day.

We leave on 15th May and our flight is at 19:20.

Will we be able to use our ticket to gain access to the parks in the morning of our final day?

Those tickets will allow you 14 days of entry to the park and you can use it on the 15th day, as long as you have not used the full 14 days worth of access on them. So if your 15 days counts arrival and departure day and you are skipping the parks the day you arrive, yes you can use it on departure day.

As your departure date is the 14th consecutive day, I would imagine that would be fine :)

Have a great trip!!

I am concerned as the Disney website says the tickets expire '14 days after first day of use'.

This would be fine as the first day we intend to use them would be 2nd May and the last day 15th May.

However, an email from Disney when I made the booking states 'Your Disney Tickets are valid for use from 1st May 2014'

Hopefully they are valid for use from 1st but they will actually only activate when we first use them on 2nd.

The start date is the date that you first enter the park on that ticket. The 'valid from' date is probably because you got it as part of a package and you can no longer collect tickets from your package prior to your check in date. This is the date from which you can use your ticket but if you start your 14 days later than that, you don't lose days from the 14 you paid for. The 14 days only starts running from the day you first use it :)

I've done this more than once. We have often had more days there than days on our tickets and never had a problem.

If you don't plan to use the ticket until 2nd May and the last day of use is 15th May, that's only 14 days anyway so you will be fine. Although it says valid from 1st May, the clock won't start ticking until you first use it.
