14 day reposition cruise-additional shock/thought?!

My family of 5 is now booked on the 14 day FL to CA cruise, Cat.4!!! Great news. The price was only about $3000 more than our 7 day plus since we live in CA won't have to pay for the round trip to/from FL which we thought was a great deal for 7 additional days, Castaway Cay and the Panama Canal. I was sitting here relaxing now that it's booked, reading all the various threads and had a sudden somewhat frightening thought... I forgot that the costs of tips on the 14 day cruise will be double from what we budgeted for the 7 day. Oh well, great service, longer cruise so it will be worth it.

I had the same thought earlier! But it should be well worth it. And you're right, our cat4 wasn't that much higher than the one that we will be in on July 3rd this year. We're also from California. And..I have to think that even though it will be early in the morning when we arrive...there should be a pretty cool reception to greet the Magic!!

After reading several posts here today, where the price was only several HUNDRED dollars more for Cat. 8/9 for example, I was somewhat shocked to see the Cat.4 price a couple THOUSAND more. After thinking about it more I realized the price really was pretty good considering the smaller number of Cat. 4 staterooms available. More people competeing for less rooms, so it makes since that the deal wouldn't be as great as with lower Cat. rooms which there are plenty more of.

Oh, well, we are still very excited!!
