I know it's a given that WDW will give us the next 8 Parks in Orlando, but what do you think will be the 13th Park?

I'm thinking it'll be a Johnny Depp tribute Park. Is that what you're hearing?

I think one of the next two will be called Islands of Adventure and the other will have Studio in its name.

You will not see a new park in WDW for the next 15-20 years. The next US park will be a third gate for DL.

I have a friend high up in the Disney food chain, a busser at one of the signatures. He told me last I was there that the 13th park isn't going to be a tribute to Johnny Depp, but will rather have a Prince of Persia theme (the third movie in the trilogy will have just been out before opening) . Just sharing some info there, not to dispel your hopes.

Yup, that's at least where all the "warm" rumors are leading. Land even picked out.

Much more likely to see expansions at DHS and/or AK before a 5th gate.

As for those "other parks"...if the governor of FL doesn't want to build a high-speed rail system, perhaps Disney should think of their own again, and connect to Sea World and Universal and eat up those parks as well :)

I don't know where the Disneyland 3rd park rumors are coming from. From what I understand WDW will get a 5th major park by 2018 or sooner. This was projected in a Reedy Creek District study released in 2009. The report also called for 2 minor parks to be built within the next 10 yrs. at WDW. However, the Orlando Sentinel pointed out that if the expansion of parks and hotel rooms are completed, there will not be much more room for them to build. - There's always the Magic Kingdom parking lot I guess. It's said that they could fit the entire Disneyland resort on it.:)

They have a plot in DL for a park slightly larger than DCA that used to be strawberry field and is now empty.

You will not see a new WDW park in the next 15-20 years an that is a good thing. There is 100% no need for a 5th park in WDW in no way shape or form should they build a 5th park. There is no reason they can't even keep the 4 parks they have now up to Disney standards. DAK was rushed and built before it should have been.

What needs to happen before a 5th park is ever considered

1. DAK expansion
2. DHS expansion
3. Overhaul of Future World
4. New Monorail Fleet
5. Major Eticket for MK either AL or TL
6, New transportation system to replace the bus system (I say use the TTA on a large scale)

If they attempt to build a 5th park before all of this happens WDW is in trouble.

WDW owns 43 square miles of property. Not sure why O.S. said they will run out of room.

Agreed...there is still plenty of room. Now I recall that some percentage may need to be left alone, although by whose rules I'm not sure. And some of the land is generally considered unbuildable anyways. But there is still plenty - at least if Disney stops de-annexing land to cede control to third parties...

But I'm agreed with Figment632 on this...plenty of expansion to be done before then. A fifth park is too big of a capital layout for returns that won't be seen for decades...

What I heard was they are going to be making Bay Lake deeper and putting in a giant enclosed bubble, much like the viewing area in Jaws 3 only as large as MK. In this bubble they are putting in all the closed or remodeled rides. 20,000 leagues will return and now be in the far end and actually exit the bubble and will be a real submarine. Mr. Toads and the original Journey into Imagination will be there too. This will be opening in about 6 months but will not be complete when open. The major problem they are having is getting permission to use descent white bread buns on the hot dogs. Smoking will be allowed but only while standing in line or in the new hotel they are building next to the park. The balconies at this new hotel will be bubbles too. Check in will be on Discovery Island, you will have to park at FW and take a boat over. This park and hotel will have a monorail stop so you are going to see all new submergible monorails, I think they will be powered by propane. I cannot wait; I have already made a reservation.

I remember that project...but with the recent economic downturn coupled with negative survey results from guests about not wanting to stay in that "paper hotel" (the building structure itself was to be waterproofed by wrapping it in Tyvek, but the guests still call it "paper") the idea was shelved. However, the giant bubble dome was already three quarters completed and Disney was on the hook for the whole cost, they decided to take that and turn it upside down to become the bowl of Iger's $200 million champagne glass pool...

agreed and IMHO we might see a 5th park 30 years from now or at the rate TDO is going all of what Figment listed 30 years from now and a 5th gate 50 years.

A 5th gate would fit nicely in the MK parking lot or WDW speedway.

No offense to anyone, but I'll trust the Reedy Creek projections more than Disney discussion boards. I know, they've been wrong before, but that was during the great recession. The economy is improving now so I'm optimistic.:thumbsup2

Honestly, I'd say there is a greater chance of the apocalypse in the next 15 years than a WDW 5th gate.

Also i agree with figment. Make those updates, and then we'll be somewhere. Also Muppetland please. :thumbsup2

No, no, no, no. You guys have this all wrong. I've said this before, but now I have new info. The next park is gonna be one of those exclusive parks, and it's gonna be the largest on property. It will be villain themed but with family friendly, while focusing on Marvel heros and being packed with thrill rides. The headliner attraction will be called "Maleficent Battles Spiderman While Getting Attacked by Stitch: Under New Managment!" There was supposed tp be a huge anamatronic dragon, but I heard it...umm....broke, and now their just gonna flash strobe lights on it. It will be a fully completed park and will leave A LOT of room for expansion. It is supposed to open in winter 2012, which means that the first attraction will be open by fall 2013. It will be called "Pixar's Marvelicous Villain Extravaganza Adventure Park" I can't wait!!!!:cool1::thumbsup2:cheer2:
