I once went to a doctor to try and find out why I'm always tired on weekday mornings, but I'm fine on the weekends. She immediately said, "You're depressed, you hate your job" and put me on meds. After a year of those - along with the sudden onset of hypertension, for which I needed yet ANOTHER pill, a 30-pound weight gain, and charging up my credit card to $1800 because "la-la-la, life is so awesome, I don't care, I'll pay it eventually," but still being tired in the mornings - I decided to see some psychiatrists for evaluation. Guess what? I wasn't clinically depressed at all. I'm just not a morning person. So I got off the meds; my hypertension then went away, I lost weight, and paid off my CC bill. That was several years ago. I still show no signs of clinical depression.
