13 night stay, Villa or split stay?

Planning for June/July 2008 a 13 night stay. A one bedroom villa to make breakfast in the morning and have lunch in room after pool for 13 nights or a spilt hotel stay?

Anyone ever stay in a villa for that long?

Have you considered the Wilderness Cabins. They allow all best of having a full kitchen, excellent campfire program, pools, and a boat ride to the MK. If you can afford it I would stay in one place. I have split stays before and it can be a hassle to packup and move.

I have stayed in the villas for longer trips, in fact, I'll be at VWL for 17 days in September. The best thing for a long stay is having laundry facilitites in the room (provided you are booking a one or two bedroom) so you don't have to pack as many clothes. It is convenient and economical to have the kitchen available for some meals (especially if you aren't on the dining plan) and I like having a separate tub and tiled shower. I usually stay in the villas for longer trips and the regular resorts for shorter ones. I have never booked a split stay, because I prefer to unpack and settle in one time for the entire trip.

Forgot about the laundry issue, having a washer and dryer in the room sounds great. Have the VWL been remodeled like the rooms over at the WL? We just got back from the WL, it was great. I was thinking of trying out the BWV or the BCV, any information on those? But then I'd also love to stay at the Poly decisions, decisions

Id stay in a villa for the comforts of home...laundry..not that is really a comfort..lol...a kitchen...I couldnt imagine packing..unpacking...although alot of folks do it...I must learn to be a better packer!!

The villas don't get remodeled on the same schedule as the resorts. I know that they totally replaced the sofabeds, mattresses, and soft furnishings at BCV this year, because I was there when they were working on it (and got a new sofabed my second day there - the new mattress was already in). But the furnishings all looked the same as they did before. I believe refurbishments in the villas are funded primarily by the owner fees, and that the owners have a say in how often, and to what extent, things are changed out and modified. So far, I haven't had anything really run down in any of the villas I've stayed in, but they still have regular tv's instead of flat screens like the renovated resort rooms. But I can put up with a regular tv if I'm relaxing in a whirlpool tub while watching it!
