Hi there, do any of you know the significance of a posted 13 minute standby wait? I recall that it indicates something about the ride but I can't remember what anymore! Walkon?

Tower of Terror at California Adeventure had a posted 13 minute wait time when we were there last week. It wasn't totally walk on but about a 5 min wait.

if MH o r TT are at 10 minutes they do 13 instead since 13 ( or at lest for americans) is bad luck and the rides a little scary

so when you see 13 it just mean it will be a 10 minute wait or walk on

I've seen HM with a 10 minute wait, and a 5 minute wait, but never a 13 minute wait.

They do it more with TOT but I have seen it at HM too. Usually early AM or late at night.

On our last trip we did a little contest. We had a list of WDW "sights" that each person in our traveling party had to try get a selfie with and then cross it off the list. A wait time of 13 minutes was one of the items on the list and I was the only one to get it at TOT early one morning. So it is rare.

Heheh, that's awesome, thanks for your responses! It's all in the little details, you know? I saw it on the ToT ride and it was a walkon.
Thanks!

That sounds really fun!

Would you be willing to share your list?

I see 13 minutes often at TOT. It's just fun themeing :) I always love to snap a pic when I see it!

i've only ever seen it for TOT.
it means there's no wait.
and the significance is that 13 is an "unlucky" number and thats how many stories you drop on TOT.

I've seen it at Haunted Mansion! I always assumed it just meant there was no wait. Based on the responses in this thread, I think I will take a picture of it next time I see it!

Actually I was hoping to get some more ideas from the folks here on Dis because we plan to do it again next trip. So I will share a partial list and if you want, please add your ideas: These were the most challenging to find:

A posted wait time over 100 mins
A posted wait time of 13 mins
A Disney bus with a character name on it
A CM from CT (our home state) - the CM's loved participating taking the pics.
A guest with a Disney tattoo. Harder one to get the pic
A person wearing the classic Mickey ears
A person wearing a UConn t-shirt (Go Huskies!!)
A person wearing a Universal t-shirt
A kid on a leash

What other ideas do you have??

I love this idea!! Slightly unrelated.. One year we met a CM at Ft Wilderness from the exact same town I grew up in CT. So cool, Small world ;)
I'm trying to think of more ideas for the list as I sit here bored at work!
