Is it possible to put 13 people (8 adults and 5 children) in a Three-Bedroom Grand Villa at any of the WDW DVC resorts?

I am planning an extended family trip with my siblings and their families for next year. The 5 children range in age from 3 to 10. From a logistical standpoint, it looks feasible; but most of the DVC Grand Villa descriptions I have found say "12 people maximum".

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

Nope, it's limited to twelve people plus ONE under the age of three. With all the kids aged three or older, you can't do it.

okay it is the lake view not theme park

you can ask MS and see if they agree. there is one 3-bedroom LAKE VIEW at BLT that sleeps 14.

the guide say that several times. So would assume you can.

No offense, but I don't think this is true. All GV sleep a maximum of 12 plus one under 3.

Are they perhaps mis-stating that as occupancy? The newest GV's in both AKV and BLT have an extra bed that it is stated is only for sleeping arrangement flexibility - but it does not mean the occupancy has changed. So yes - sleeping arrangements for 14 but that does not mean that the occupancy is actually different.

I could see a guide not reading the rules but just counting the bed space and then telling that there's one that sleeps 14.

Here's the exact wording from the member website and I've also read the same thing in the planner:

"•Sleeps up to 12
•Master bedroom suite with king-size bed
•Two additional bedrooms, each with two queen-size beds
•Queen-size sleeper sofa in living room
•Full-size sleeper sofa in upstairs sitting area (maximum occupancy is 12, but extra sleeper sofa adds flexibility for sleeping arrangements)
"

no he say this was an exception to the rule and it sleeps 14 not 12. ask I mentioned he say this more than once.

as I say call MS and ask them - they should have the occupancy on their computers on each room at a DVC resort.

wish could remember the room number but can't.

you can't see the mk - so maybe this might be to make up for that?

No, occupancy is not based on view, no resort is. Occupancy is based on size of the rooms and the sleeping arrangements.

Guides can and often are mis-informed and there have been zero reports of 14 being allowed in ANY room, even a GV.

I really think he was making that up..... :sad2:

Even if there was one that slept more, it would only be a request you can't book a specific GV. I agree with Kat, sleeping options are not the same as occupancy limits.

This made me wonder what the occupancy is for a two bedroom. Does it matter the resort?

yes it is generally 8 for a 2-bedroom

exception are BLT and AKV - and soon to be OKW - when they completely the rehab. they are 9 because of the chair bed

though there are only one lake view GV that had no views of the MK???

am I wrong - is there another one?

I think there are 8 LV GV's ad 6 MK GV's. Some or maybe all of the LV GV's on the north side would have a partial view of the MK but they still are LV. Also, logistically it would be impossible to have one GV with a different occupancy. Just a nightmare for bookings.

On the south side there are 4 LV GV's and I'd guess that none of them have any sort of MK view. Maybe if you lean out over your balcony the one might be able to see a small part of the MK.

As Pat mentioned - yes, there is. I'll add that GCV also sleeps 9 in a 2BR if you ever look at the west coast. And I've heard the VB added sleeper chairs so that may also sleep 9 now.

WDW it's BLT, AKV (with the exception of the value accommodations that only sleep 8 b/c they do not have the sleeper chair) and now renovated OKW.
